CARLSBAD, Calif. (Jan. 9, 2024) - TaylorMade Golf, an industry leader in technology and innovation, announces the most forgiving family of drivers the company has produced with the groundbreaking lineup of Qi10 Max, Qi10 LS and Qi10. This cutting-edge series unlocks a new frontier of forgiveness, with the Qi10 Max hitting the elusive total MOI (Moment of Inertia) of 10,000 g-cm².

“We’re all about breaking barriers and never looking back. From the first metalwood to 60X Carbon Twist Face, once we commit and cross a threshold we continue to push the boundaries of innovation. Achieving the 10K inertia mark is yet another one of those in the long history of TaylorMade driving the industry forward.”

Brian Bazzel, VP of Product Creation

WHAT 10K MOI MEANS TO THE GOLFER

In its simplest form, higher MOI = more forgiveness. Higher MOI reduces head rotation on off-center impacts, protecting ball speed on mis-hits and delivering more consistent launch conditions. This is measurable forgiveness. The Qi10 Max driver boasts a combined total MOI of 10,000 g-cm² (10K), a feat that is the result of advanced lightweight materials, a reinvented head shape and strategic placement of mass.

The forgiveness of Qi10 Max can be a benefit to golfers of all skill levels, from the everyday golfer to a major champions like Team TaylorMade’s Nelly Korda and Collin Morikawa.

Qi10 MAX: FOUR KEY TECHNOLOGIES

image.png

The formula for achieving optimal performance in a 10K MOI driver requires the unified integration of four key technologies:

Advanced Construction with Infinity Crown: TaylorMade’s advanced construction techniques allow strategic mass redistribution, enabling a deep and low Center of Gravity (CG) for optimal launch and spin control while maintaining high MOI. The new crown covers 97% of the top surface creating a clean and elegant look.

Optimized Head Shape: The Qi10 Max features a shallower head shape that extends from front-to-back, housing a concentrated mass at the extreme limit from CG. This unique head shape contributes significantly to the clubhead’s inertia by allowing mass to be placed further from the center of the clubhead.

Carbon Face Technology: The Qi10 Max utilizes the third generation of 60X Carbon Twist Face®, delivering a fast face on center strikes, while also preserving ball speed on mis-hits. This technology works in conjunction with a redesigned ledge that houses the face in a position that flexes in unison to efficiently optimize energy transfer at impact.

Torque-Control Shaft: TaylorMade’s extensive research and testing led to the development of a shaft with lower torque, promoting improved face closure at impact. This innovation is the final piece in the quest for 10K MOI with TaylorMade performance.

“This quest to 10K is the sum of a variety of proven TaylorMade technologies that have been integrated into a new shape in the Qi10 Max, literally giving us the most forgiving driver in TaylorMade history with the highest MOI we’ve ever achieved. On top of it, the evolution of 60X Carbon Twist Face features a new blue color pattern and high contrast topline that works in unison with the Infinity Carbon Crown to provide a very clean and refined look at address position.”

Tomo Bystedt, Senior Director Product Creation

Qi10 LS: FORGIVENESS, ADJUSTABILITY AND PERFORMANCE FOR THE BETTER PLAYER

image.png

Qi10 LS delivers a lower spin and lower launch that is engineered to optimize performance for players with faster swing speeds and higher spin rates. With a deep face and a more compact overall head shape, Qi10 LS will be the preferred driver for many of Team TaylorMade’s Tour athletes.

Utilized throughout the Qi10 family, the Infinity Crown marks a significant leap forward in TaylorMade's carbon crown construction. By extending carbon fiber to the extreme perimeter of the head and aligning it flush with the top of the face, this new design maximizes mass savings. This innovative approach removes excess weight previously located in less advantageous positions, resulting in optimal redistribution of mass for lower CG and better spin properties critical to players who choose the Qi10 LS driver.

image.png

Qi10 LS also incorporates a new, more efficient moveable weight that features a single 18g steel sliding weight housed by an innovative track system. Strategic shaping along the sole is designed to deliver better aerodynamics with reduced turbulence.

The redesigned structure allows the adjustable weight to move farther forward and lower relative to its predecessor, resulting in a lower balance point and optimized inertia for a more forgiving low-spin experience.

Qi10: COMPLETE PERFORMANCE

image.png

The Qi10 driver has been strategically engineered to help players optimize distance and maximize forgiveness, wrapped in a clean, confidence-inspiring package. Qi10 features lower CG projection and higher MOI than previous TaylorMade drivers in this category, creating a driver aimed at golfers seeking the ultimate blend of distance and forgiveness.

A brand-new, slightly larger address shape combined with the clean look of the Infinity Carbon Crown and a high contrast topline for enhanced alignment that inspires confidence for all levels of golfers.

Qi10’s re-engineered 60X Carbon Twist Face is significantly lighter than traditional titanium and creates a more efficient energy transfer with a new supporting structure that promotes faster ball speeds. The face is also designed for improved preservation of ball speed on off-center shots.

The entire Qi10 family of drivers feature a 4° loft sleeve (+/- 2°) and build upon proven TaylorMade technologies such as the Thru-Slot Speed Pocket™ designed to optimize ball speed on low face hits.

I've already received emails from three different online golf shops hyping the Qi10 series, from driver down through fairway woods, hybrids, irons and wedges. Whole thing could easily set you back $3000 if you dumped out your bag and filled it with these new clubs.

I honestly dont know if it is just me or everyone else, but it doesn't seem to be an eye catcher like other brands have done of late.  It will have to do something special for me to want to change to that driver. I dont know, other then the blue face, it seems to look a little cheesy with the big branding on the top of the head... Like I said could be but it just doesn't scream come try me out much less buy me.

They look great. I actually think the blue looks better then the red but I think you could have special ordered blue last year in the Stealth. I will hit one but the price will definitely keep me from buying one.

Mixed bag of goodies: Taylormade M2 driver, Titleist F15 3 wood, Nike 5 wood, Mizuno 923 Hmp irons, Cleveland zipcore wedges and Odyssey 3 ball putter.

A guy I was caddying for this summer had the carbon face break off on the 4th hole rendering the driver useless. Had the shop bring me out a TSR3 as a loaner. He was a Titleist convert by the back 9. Granted, there is likely to be the occasional defect in any brand but I saw and heard about more issue with the TM drivers than the others.

And this is what has prevented me from purchasing anything in the same realm of CF tech. Seen some good deals on pre-owned, and never pulled the trigger.  Can't justify spending XX amount of $, to have it fail after a short while.

So $30 for a different colorway?  Actually surprised they didn't sit on this for a bit to drum up sales after the initial release  🤔

Who am I kidding, that black / gold option is 🔥🔥🔥

Really good looking driver. As Ben stated, I would also prefer the blue face over the red.
What's funny about the pricing, a couple of years ago TaylorMade CEO seemed to be scolding golf equipment companies for pricing themselves out of the market. They are consistently around the $500 price point for a driver and now even $600+ for a driver, OUCH!

When I switched from my SIM Max head to the Stealth Plus head there were gains. My issue was I was in the middle of playing in my Wednesday night league and the face flew off on the 3rd hole. Thankfully the guys we were playing against let me switch my driver head to my Old SIM Max head since I still had it. I got in touch with Taylormade and they had me send them my broke one and they sent a new head out to me. I got it in and took it and my SIM Max in to Golf Galaxy and traded them in for a Callaway Rogue ST Max LS driver. Now that I've hit Last years Paradym TD driver and saw gains in yards and better dispersion with it, I will be making the switch to it. The Taylormade Hi Toe wedges though, Will always get them.

I thought $500 was a bit steep for a driver and now we’re at $600. As much as I really like the look, and the tech going into more forgiveness, I just don’t see the price point being that accessible. Just me?

I agree, they have gotten so expensive!  I want to try this one out and am going to try and go to a demo day this weekend, but I typically just wait and buy resale.  Here in a month or two, there will be a ton online.  Finding a lefty is a little more difficult, but if I want it bad enough can find one.

I hate being that guy that waits until the year after but it almost makes a lot more sense now with releases coming out this close together.

Didn’t buy, but did try all 3 models today. The max and stock versions were too spinny, but the LS with a Tensei Black 1K was a winner and will require some serious consideration, as we head into the upcoming season.

I think shaft for drive makes a huge difference for most from what I have seen on foresight or quad numbers.

Given that I tried all 3 heads on the same Tensei Black 1K shaft, I tend to agree. The combination of that shaft and the LS head worked like magic for my swing.

Tested both the Max and the standard. Considerable performance between the two. The Max had very tight dispersion and shot pattern lines up in straight line. That was cool. Distance not remarkably different than my old Rogue.

Next up was the standard. Shot pattern not nearly as right on sim. Definite increase in ball speed (+4) over the Max. Spin 2200. Carry +12 over Max.

Long story short, the standard is in the bag. 10.5, Fujikura Speeder NX 50R. First on course round, yesterday in sub 40 temps.  No one ever said I was the brightest bulb in the box. 13 of 14 fairways with small fade. Want to do some tweaking with the hosel adjustments but overall very impressed/pleased.

I have avoided Taylormade drivers for a while, but, I did try the QI10, and, directionally, it seemed to set extremely well for me. I will need to test the std and Max a bit more to verify my first session wasn't a fluke.
