Photo Scrolling: Old photos when going through your phone

I was going through some photos today looking for some specific golf related ones for something I was putting together.
 

When doing this I stumbled across some gems and thought, once we post something or take a picture of something does it just sit there and we forget about it? Well wanted to start this thread to get some of the old goodies we maybe forgot about. A photo album if you will, just like grandma had.

This one is from 2019 I believe, November (around then anyway). Was a late fall round right after Thanksgiving when the weather let us sneak that last round in. Was down in Cape Cod and this course has a very cool island green about 100 yards or so. Well I made a mockery of it and of course @GolfSpy BOS was there to not only capture it but remind me how bad I missed it.

Love this thread, Mark! The photo below is from 2017, and was taken in the evening in late April. It is on hole two of my home course, long before I was a member and WAY before I started improving at golf. I took the photo because it was one of the best tee shots I had ever hit, bar none, and I wanted to capture it. Probably proceeded to shank the approach but that’s not important here

It captured, for me, one of those just awesome moments golf can bring. The kind of shot that gets and keeps you absolutely hooked to the game.

Phillies playoff run in 2022 during a top dressing day. It’s the course I used to be Director of Golf at. Got the Phillies to the World Series but wasn’t enough to overcome the Astros.

This is a fun one - sharing some pictures from my honeymoon in Ireland (2015).  During a particularly rainy afternoon, I convinced my new bride to play 9 holes at a cheap course near our hotel.  We rented a set of clubs (many of which were too short / rusted / broken), but we had a blast.

I've got two for you. The first one is in 2012. You have to guess where it is .

The second is at the course where my league is. They have a number of these wooden footbridges. When they get wet they are slimy as hell. I fell on one (was not hurt), and I politely told them that they needed to do something before someone did get hurt. A couple weeks later these signs were up, but they've never cleaned the wood. As the lawyer in my league pointed out, all they did was increase their liability, becuase now it can be proven that they know there's a hazard that they haven't fixed.

Oldest photo on my current phone is from when I'd started playing again after finally having my knee surgery a few years back. Could finally get back into playing, and figured my old 250cc Arnie's Own driver was due for retirement and bought this one. Longest shift of my life waiting to finish work so I could go to the range to swing it.

One of the first golf photos in my phone is from April 2017 which was when I started playing golf as my primary hobby. I was still intimidated by the “big boy course” so all of my rounds were on a par 3 course. This was my tee shot on number 7 that day which usually plays around 155 yards. I remember being super stoked about being that close to the hole on a tee shot.

A second photo, April 2018 for this one, is my first set of proper wedges. I was still playing the par 3 course quite a bit but I was venturing out to the regular course more frequently by this time. Picked up 56° and 60° Callaway MD3s from CPO for a steal and actually still have these wedges.

Rainbows in Alaska…stayed the whole day and as we progressed through the holes we saw it from different angles. Overall strange and cool experience while losing balls.

oldest pic I could find. 2009 - I didn't really start playing seriously until about this time.
This was a group of guys at my office that used to go the White Mountains in NH for a 3 day; pic is at Owl's Nest.

This one is from a memorial veterans tournament my uncle puts on every year. Turns out hundreds and has 2 4somes on every holes. It is a blast, this one is from 2017. My dad, my cousin, myself and my uncle from left to right:

and this one is something I am working on over the next few months, this is the first photo I have of my son swinging a club and have several more from the years since, going to make a collage for him for his room, this one has to be from 2015?:

That's so weird, looks like my ball was a good... 20 yards past yours there?  Just the day before that photo too.  Good thing I'm little.

Who do you think got him on a par four in one shot. That took some creative bouncing on my part. For an older guy he should just be happy with getting on the green in one. Heck, I gave him a tap in eagle. Let's not get too greedy now.

So these pictures I just moved to a file are of myself and Kenny Olson a longtime friend and Kid Rock Lead Guitarist hitting the ceremonial tee shot at the Rock n Scramble!! This is a charity event held at Elmbrook in Traverse City Michigan every year. Kenny whom I graduated with is there yearly as his parents own the golf course!!! This event is a blur past about noon every year and yes he actually smokes the ball about 200yds with a Gibson SG Guitar

One of the best shots I had was driving a par 4 green. It was at Hernando Oaks Golf Course. The hole is a par 4, 254 yards, large bunkers down the right side. Hit a 3 wood, and if you hit it just right, you get a nice roll down to the green Missed the eagle putt by an inch.
