The good play continues and another very good round.  Putting (28 putt and 2 birdie round) and short game saved me many strokes. Need a 22 foot putt to save par.  Lab rat, no problem dad.  Sooner or later the wheels will fall off and I will return to normal, but so far enjoying this little good run.

So for the past few weeks I have been struggling mightily with my driver. Too many big numbers because of lost balls that was hurting my scores. I got on the sim and tested my driver vs 3 wood. I lost about 6 yards of carry to the driver but gained 10 yards of tightened dispersion from it. So I decided the driver stays home and let's see what I can do using 3 wood off the tee all day. Well it worked I was a +2 off the tee today. I only hit 5 fairways but I didn't lose any balls and didn't really put myself in awful locations. Only problem was I had my worst approach round in the last two months. That's golf I guess

Yesterday a group of us went for a day trip to Killeen to play the public course Stonetree. We played the white tees rating 70.7 and slope 125 to match best for all in our group. The tee boxes and fairways were generally nice, but the greens and bunkers were absolutely horrible. The course was also extremely firm. Drives ran out for an extra 20 to 80 yards. The greens were also firm and sandy and grainy. My back hurt all day, but I really hit the ball well with only a couple exceptions early in the round. Seems once I am used to the pain and warm things get better. Hit 11 fairways, 14 greens and had 31 putts on those crap greens. I had 4 bogeys that were just missed up and downs on the 4 greens I missed due to the greens or just horrible bunker conditions. However, I did manage to offset the mistakes with 5 birdies (2 were par 5’s that I was on the front fringe in 2). Back to Accupuncture and massage treatments and hope to get at least another round in this week.

Redemption round for last Friday...

Really happy with how I played and can feel the 80's coming, just have to learn to clean the round up and keep those Double Bogies + off the card. Other than that had a blast and love this course so will continue to play it more.

+5 front, and +1 back.  Missed a few putts on the front.  Started putting with more confidence about hole 7 and a few dropped.  One mental mistake cost me a double bogey on hole 4. Was 81 yards out after a good drive and apparently hit it thin over the green... lol. Ah well, crazy game we play.

Thank you Sir! The combination of Accupuncture, foam roller, massage and tens unit is doing the trick. Plus, playing less and guarding it. Slow process, but really want to be healthy for our vacation in Sept.

Pretty good round today. I was 3 over going into #16, then I had a lapse in judgement. I birdied on of the harder par 4 because the pin is on the back ledge.

Second time in a row shooting 79 at Balboa.  Balboa is rapidly becoming my safety course, it seems to fit my game well and over six round this year the worst I've carded is an 85.  Shame I don't get more strokes, but a net 73 is a net 73.

Steady golf was the method for this round. Did not use driver except for 4 holes, mostly 3 wood or 4 hybrid off the tees except for the par 3's.

11 of 14 fairways, those missed were just off edges due to doglegs on the holes.

10 of 18 GIR and 33 putts.

Picture-perfect weather, high 60's to low 70's and slight breeze made it an ideal day to be out.
