Another fun round at Forest Hills.  Sorry @Vegan_Golfer_PNW for not reaching out, but I know you prefer earlier rounds and I thought we had a 4some.  Wound up paying with a member named Jason, not sure if you might know that gent.

@Eddy Dragonetti and I chose to play from the blue/white combo tees, as that's closer to our normal home course length.  Wound up being nearly identical C/R at 66.3/118 vs. 66.8/118.  And, had another great score.  Probably left a few on the table as we were still a bit confused about the tee designations on the scorecard and wound up hitting off of the white tees on #4 instead of blue, which would have given us an extra 60 yards to make it a 124y par 3 intead of a 187y hole.  Wound up with a bogey, but only due to poor putting.

Driving and putting were much better this round.  Put a new club into play.  I bought another Wilson BT-2 putter, cut it down 1.5", and stuck the Garsen Max grip on it.  The Max is a teardrop shape, which I oriented the tip of the drop to the front.  This encourages a butterfly grip that keeps the wrists from over rotating.  Worked out pretty well this round, mostly just had issue with speed control, not line.

Wound up not using my irons as much as I thought, mostly played the PW or 4-iron from the field, but hit a variety from the tee.  Every round I'm impressed by the forgiveness and ease of swing on these New Level 480-DBs.  I do feel like my game is improving playing with them.  Can't wait to get some launch monitor data for myself with them, which will unfortunately be later in the week due to some short notice travel.

Anyhow, this round is going to drop my handicap yet again.  Randy, you wanted to see me shoot lower scores? Well here's the pudding.

Played in the South Texas Am Tour event today at "Ol' Brack" and won a skin with a shot to 7' on #7 (and made birdie on 12 but washed with another player). My chances of finishing first were annihilated when I went double, triple (OB tee shot), double (water hazard par 3) on 8, 9, and 10. Shot 84 despite that awful stretch and came in net 3rd in the Third Flight.

well done on the 3rd place finish

Rough week at men’s league. This course is very simple but it still remains my nemesis. Should have time this weekend to get in a couple rounds to try and climb my way back up the leaderboard.

Sorry for the crappy picture. Buddy of mine did the scorecard and had to get it later from him hence the late posting. This was the 3rd round at this course for the week and I know I've said it before but for the price it is very enjoyable and kept up really nicely.

Didnt even plan to keep score myself honestly as I had played a surprise 18 before this round for some work stuff. Felt really worn out so a PB&J sammich with a Celsius kept me going haha. Of course lots of water to help push thru.
