edingc 8,320
Better range session today than the last. Among many things wrong with my swing, I tend to get the right arm pulled away from my body a bit on the backswing, so today I really focused on keeping the arms and upper body "together" going back and I striped a ton of balls. Unreal how well I was hitting for a bit, even with my old Cobra AMP driver I use for winter work. I struggled a bit toward the end of the buckets as I got tired. Looking through video, I started to overcook staying more "outside" with the takeaway and really began pushing the club out away from me on the backswing. Next time out I'll add that to the list of things to pay attention to... and that list is getting pretty long again . This is what I would call one of the better swings of the day - 16 degree Callaway Super Hybrid, 146 MPH ball speed from tee. I didn't get too outside on the takeaway on this one. FlightScope Mevo misread some ridiculous amount of spin (almost 5k), so the carry was only estimated to be 225, but with a real ball this thing would have been crushed. Shapotomous 2,032
Another net session today to work on improving my hip and shoulder sequencing on the downswing. About 30 minutes worth about evenly split between swings without a ball there and actually hitting a ball. sirchunksalot 10,032
I got a grey PuttOut mat for Christmas, which for us was yesterday. I brought it out today and spent some time trying to get a 3 foot putt to stick in the perfect putt hole. It took about 25 tries before finally got one to stick. One of the first things I noticed was I start putts off to the right just a bit. I will say, it's a pretty addictive training aid. 5

edingc 8,320
Weird range session this morning (last of the holiday break for me). It was fully overcast and with all of the snow on the ground I couldn't see the balls in flight at all, which was a bummer. I hit two buckets without really knowing more than strike location and ball speed, and personally felt like it was a pretty crummy session until I got home and looked through my Mevo clips. I did a great job cleaning up my takeaway and much to my surprise the start line of the majority of my shots was perfect! Such a relief as I feared I was just spraying the ball all over the place. Back to once-a-week sessions starting next weekend unless the weather doesn't cooperate to travel to the range, which is OK as the mats do beat up my wrists and elbows a bit. Very pleased with how the swing is shaping up with three months to go before we hit reasonable golfing weather: 2 Quote Unofficial WHS Handicap: 9.5 (Last Updated March 13, 2021) Driver: Callaway Mavrik (9°), 45.75", Dumina AutoFlex SF505X | Unofficial AutoFlex Review 17° Hybrid: Callaway Super Hybrid, 41.5", Mitsubishi MMT Hybrid 80 TX 18.5° Driving Iron: Cobra KING Utility (2016 Model), 39.5", Mitsubishi MMT Utility 105 TX 21° Hybrid: Callaway Epic Flash, 40", Mitsubishi MMT Hybrid 80 TX 4-AW: Sub70 699 (4-6)/699 Pro (7-AW) Combo Set, 1° Flat, 37" 7 Iron, Mitsubishi MMT Taper 105 TX | Build Thread 54°, 58°: Cobra KING MIM Black, 1° Flat, 35.5", 35.25", Mitsubishi MMT Wedge 105 TX | #CobraConnect Review Putter: L.A.B. sirchunksalot 10,032
Today was a range day, as I've been hitting into a net the past few days and wanted to get out and check ball flight. Not a bad session, I'm really getting good at 25-30 yard shots and was getting close to the marker. Anything over that was a disaster. I would try to hit between 50/70 yards and was shanking the daylights out of the ball. The shorter shots were looking good, though. Moved on to 8 iron. One off the toe, but other than that not too shabby. Moved on to the 6 iron, strike was fairly consistent toward the middle but still ruining high to low. Except the guy that wandered near Shanksville. 5 wood still needs work, the surprising thing is the center shot was a little duck hooky. My driver looked good, I was hitting a pretty consistent fade and a high number of the shots would have found the fairway.
PMookie 12,996
Went to the range yesterday and hit a bunch of balls. 90% of the balls hit were done via a drill I got in my first lesson with Tyler McGhie. Then moved to driver, 5 iron, 58*, to PW, to 8 iron, to driver, etc, rotating clubs as though I was on-course. Its amazing how much further the absolutely flushed shots go! Ones that were still hit well were right on target, but those perfect strikes were 10 yards longer! I thought to myself, “So, this is what it’s like for a pro!” Crazy how consistent they are, and how inconsistent I am! Man, they’re good. 5 Quote Driver: King F9 Speedback, Xphlexxx Busa 2 Liquid, XX stiff, 45” Fwy: Hybrid: X2 Hot Pro, 20*, Rombax 8D07HB TM27 X Irons: TR20 Tour P 4/5, Tour V 6-10, Dynamic Gold X100 Wedges: Vega VW-06 50*/54*/58*, Dynamic Gold S400 Putter: EAS 1.
Lacassem 10,093
My swing transition is a struggle and is so hard to change. Got to the range today for the first time in a while. small progress I am “humping” the ball a little later and a little closer to impact which I think is progress? My camera stand couldn’t go back any further or would have been in a walking path but here is the top of my backstroke to almost impact. I am happy that I am opening the hip up a little bit on that transition which I was typically already thrusting on the 2nd still. One thing I did find today at the top of my swing I have always broken my wrists. When I was hitting some wedges I didn’t do that and I was hitting the ball much squarer and much better striking on the face when I did that. I transition that down my clubs all the way to driver and I was very happy with the results, was not as “heely” Had 10 strikes all in the same general area, great flight good distance Hip rotation WIP..... 4 Quote Check out my reviews G710 Irons Lacassem official review WITB: FlexTech is filled with all this shiny metal and tracked by : RadSpeed 8* - MotoreX F1 6X SIM 3W - Project X HZRDUS Green 2019 P790 4-PW - Project X 6.5 LZ 48 SM8 - Nippon Modus 125 S 52, 56, 60 SM7 - Nippon Modus 125 S O-Works 1W PROV1X #19 Bushnell Tour V3 Jolt On The Bench: 2H VST - Super Idea S Matrix Kujoh S-Flex Thank you to all those that have served/are serving and God Bless America
