Popular Post verojoe
Just wondering if there any walkers left. I recently returned to the joys of walking the course. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed the idea of leaving the cart behind and playing in a much more relaxed state of mind. Also, it seems to me that I play better when walking. Popular Post fraasty
I always prefer to walk. It's way cheaper and that allows me to play more rounds in a year. I actually just ordered a seat for the clicgear as it seems in our normal group that mainly walks always catches up to foursomes and threesomes in carts. Popular Post TSauer
I walk 90% of the time I play. And like you, I always feel like I play better when I walk. GolfSpy_APH
Another walker here! I much prefer walking to a cart. Not really sure why other then it's nice to get the exercise and enjoy seeing the course at a bit of a slower pace. DiscipleofPenick
I used to caddy in high school and always walked when I was younger. PlaidJacket
I used to walk and push my cart all the time. About 1/2 the guys I play with walk. (old guys at that) The past year I got out of the habit for some reason. I also used to claim I played better when I walked. But honestly I don't. No better or worse. Same. Our courses around here are an easy walk since they're mostly flat. But those 100* summer days are no fun walking. So I ride. Anyone else enjoy putting one foot in front of the other when playing? Funny you should say that - I told my wife recently I want to start walking the course. Need to get a pull cart first however. When we were in Australia this winter, we played two courses - walked both - didn't even see a cart on the course. Rickp
Walked every time I played except at Tournaments where carts were mandatory. Unfortunately 5 years ago at age 65 I tore meniscus in right knee while walking and carrying bag at the time. Not fun. Went to Doc had it checked out and got the news that I will need a knee replacement in near future. So for right now I'm using my cart and will for foreseeable future. Lucky that we do live in a cart development with over 50,000 carts at last check a few years ago. Bottom line I'm over 70 and my walking 18 is over. Maybe after my replacement I'll walk 9.
