The Good Morning Thread

coffee is in hand, which after the almost 5hr round yesterday in what had to be 90% humidity... im dead on my feet today.  It staying cloudy for all of .... 30 seconds and me leaving my hat in the car... OOF. im crispy to boot.

The good news is I broke 90 for the second time this year (and only the third whole 18 ive played all year no less).  A lovely 87.  Now if I could just figure out why my driver distance has dropped 30yards...  Granted we had no rollout yesterday thanks to it being cartpath only from a ton of rain the past few days.

Good morning spies.  A cloudy morning after 1" of a good soaking rain overnight.  

Adter reading about the data breaches on here the last few days i read a letter from the life insurance co that came saturday.   They will be paying to monitor us for the next 8 years after they were hacked.

We are off to work at three places today before coming back to get our place spruced up for swmbo and her tournament comittee meeting here tonight.

Good morning Spies,

The sky is crying in Central NY. So no golf today. A quote from Alex Etches made my morning. “Personally, I love a good putt for a 58. Really sets me up for the back 9.”  

Had a lovely Sunday. I sat on the shores of Lake Ontario reading while my wife went for a swim. She has a race on Lake George in two weeks so she is getting her miles in. The race is a 5k swim.

It's a muggy 68° here. Rained last evening through the night. T storms projected. No real plan today.

My son and I grabbed some ice and food and halfway back to the site he throws up in the car. I think it might be the food (you know a few too many smores). Unfortunately it continues when we return to the site and next thing we know it is coming out both end in our tent (we have a travel potty).

We decide we have to go home this is not ending soon and being stuck in a tent like that would be miserable. So we pack up, try to explain to the kids on the next site that only speak French but have enjoyed playing with out kids, that we are leaving at 5 pm after arriving in a whirlwind just a couple days before. We dive back with my son dry heaving countless times on the way home. We get home get everyone to bed. And then at the end of the next day I start to feel sick and sure enough it is my turn, next day I am feeling ok but my two girls get the bug, and finally the next day it is my wifes turn. So that was basically the first week of my vacation. Second week was planned staycation which went fine. Hope everyone else's vacations this year went better, looks like @Lacassems was better for sure.

Good morning everyone! Thank you all for the kind words about my wife, turns out today is only a consultation and the scheduling of her surgery.

When they called back in July they told her she needed to have her gallbladder removed and it needed to be done asap, how about July 16? She told them we needed to make sure I could get off work because I wanted to be there for her surgery and today was the first day I could be off for two consecutive days. She has called and emailed them asking about what prep she needs before surgery and finally Friday she called and they told her today was not the surgery, just an office visit.

It's a complete and total case of miscommunication on their part and I ain't happy. They could have told her at any time it was us coming in to talk and not the procedure. They even told her on the initial call that she needed someone to come with her because she wouldn't be able to drive home.

Rant over.

Sorry to hear about that, hate it when that happens. Also thanks this was two weeks ago now so all doing better it was mostly a 24 hour thing.

Absolutely have been in the exact same shoes, @ejgaudette. Absolutely miserable. Always seems to happen right around one of the boys' birthdays every year. Glad it was just a 24 hour type bug.

Good morning all, back to the grind this morning after a really enjoyable weekend at the lake. Kids had a great time at my mom and dads so all was good for everyone. Going to hit the range today over lunch and drop my putter off in the pro shop to have my new SS Pistol Traxion 2.0 grip installed so that I can have it in play for league tomorrow evening. Should be a relatively smooth week this week  with not much planned for the weekend.

Good morning everyone! Woke up this morning to the internet repair guy calling to let me know he was on his way to (finally) install wifi at our new place. That'll be nice as we have been here a week without it and working from home via my phone's hotspot is not my favorite thing to do! I played a couple of rounds this weekend and boy was I rusty after two weeks of traveling and not much time for golf! I managed to clean some stuff up on the range before my Sunday afternoon round just enough to shoot an 80. Isn't it funny how an 80 was such a great score for me not ling ago but now I really don't feel happy with it? I guess that is why I'll keep coming back!

Good Morning everyone!  Sorry for being absent this weekend.  I can't believe this August weather!!  I have never seen 3 days in August where it rained and be so cool in all of my 54 years of living here.  Highs only in the low 80's and cooled off at night only to low 70's.  We had a little sprinkle during our round on Saturday, and it rained early Sunday morning until about 10am, so we got wet teeing off at 7:30... however, I did shoot my age again... 76!

Today is mowing day, but it rained again last night and we have a 90% chance of more rain this morning.  It looks like we might get to mow around 6pm tonight.  I know most of you would think that what I call rain is only something more than high humidity, but we never get measurable precipitation in August.  Not to worry though... back up to the high 90's and 100º starting tomorrow.

That sucks. Pain to get all mentally prepared for a surgery and then not have it happen. Hopefully it won’t be a big deal for you to get the time off for her actual surgery.

Good morning everyone! Taking a day recovering from driving to Kansas City from Saint Louis to take the wife to see Ed Sheeran. Coffee and cinnamon rolls, then going to talk to a builder to see about starting a home in a new development. Should be a fun day.

Sorry about your wife’s/your struggles to get this scheduled.  Hopefully show has been doing okay in the interim.  For any surgery where you are under anesthesia they need you to have someone drive you home. 

  I kind of feel your pain,  been having some issues since the beginning of July and it is go do this test, wait for doctor appointment/go see another doctor, go do another test.   I’ve just decided to do my normal thing even though I pay the price and don’t feel well afterwards; I’m not just going to sit at home and do nothing.  
 

hopefully everything gets figured out soon and she gets that troublesome gal bladder removed and starts feeling better!

Good Monday Morning Spies! 

Nice WARM Central Florida morning.  6:45am tee time this morning, walked 18 holes & it was hot! But a nice walk.  Drench when done. Got home & showered, working on a 2nd cup of coffee & have Matt Helm movie on in background! LOL. 

Prayers with @sirchunksalot & Mrs! Terrible the miscommunication, especially with scheduling a surgery!   Fell better @ejgaudette!!

Sheesh. With recognizing that many health care facilities are understaffed and the people there are overworked .. that's still not an excuse. We, the health care consumers, are totally dependent on them to get things *right*...

Hopefully your work is understanding and accommodating!

We just got home from the doctor and we have it scheduled for August 31. It'll work out good for the both of us, I'm planning on moving my PTO day from tomorrow to them and that'll give me six days off since I always take time off at Labor Day and had the Friday and Tuesday already pre-planned. 

Thanks everyone for all the well wishes for my wife, we both really appreciate it.

Healthcare has now become more business than care. Clinicians are now practicing on an assembly line. My wife and I had our favorite physician leave because she was pushed for volume. She took the time to get to know us as people rather sit behind a computer and check boxes. And God forbid you ask the wrong question during your physical and next thing you know, the well visit that is paid fully by insurance becomes something that isn't covered, and you pay for it.

Now you have no excuses not to post "The Daily Reid".  Not gonna lie, I'm loving retirement. Although retirement does lead to doing some crazy things to fill your time. I started working with a running coach last week.
