Enjoying a lazy morning with a fully operational AC unit today...  SWMBO has a couple of emergency tasks for me today but nothing to major so won't be to terrible.

No golf today or tomorrow but round scheduled for Friday during the cold front (mid 90's). There is even a chance of rain after a three-week dry spell. Keeping our fingers crossed for that.

Thanks guys!! Worked all day but have some close friends coming over soon for burgers and whiskey. Good way to end the day and start the long weekend.

I need to get my profile updated on here too since today is birthday number 50. That moves me up a bracket for the ages!

I won't be playing till December. Football season takes a lot of my time. We will need to look at springtime.

IF????? I was told it could come back for a week or two but will go away. I hope that the case. If I can play golf and be hurting 2. hrs later and get back to a working out on a normal schedule, I'll take it. I know I'm not 25, but I don't want to feel like I'm 90.

Again I don't know how long you've had this problem. The longer you've had it, the longer it takes to get over it even with surgery.

Sometimes I forget how much I miss going to the gym. I went from being a guy that hated the idea of the gym to getting to be moody if I don't get to the gym for awhile. Today was the first day back in about two weeks just due to everything going on. It's still crazy hot here at the moment but I'm getting back into doing some of my normal things again.

Managed a quick (no, really, under 3 hours quick) 18 holes this morning with one of my regular partners.  I think we got lucky and started out ahead of Wednesday morning league.  Never felt rushed at all!  Played the same ball for all 18 as well.

My quest to avoid double bogies was not totally successful -- 3 of them today.  One I would classify as silly for trying to hit I shot I know I didn't need to; one was a serious fried egg in a wet bunker; and one was a late round left yank into a neighboring fairway that gave me no chance of getting near the green in regulation (nor regulation +1).  Even so, I finished at 84 -- the closest I've come to 80 this year.  And, I won the match 10-4. 

On the ball front, I remembered to grab the right Titleist balls today.  Opted for the Pro V1x.  As I hit my tee shot on #10 and older gent in the twosome behind us asked what ball I had hit.  When I told him, his response was , "I'm not good enough to use those."  I've been thinking the same for a long time even though the Titleist on-line ball selector keeps trying to put me into that ball.  Maybe I've just finally decided that my 85 mph driver SS can find some benefit in "tour balls."  I know I like the extra spin at greenside and spin didn't seem to be an issue off the tee.  Where the spin really came in handy was on a chip in birdie from so far below the hole I could only see the top couple feet of flag stick.  I only knew it went in when my partner's putter went soaring through the air toward the cart.  He did, however describe the checking power of the ball with some very colorful language.

For all my fellow Americans on the forum, have a happy and safe 4th of July.  And, remember, not all Veterans, children and animals appreciate things tht go boom in the night (or day).  Enjoy your day responsibly and respectfully.

I've contemplated using the Pro V1 for some time. But given the level of my game and my penchant for the slice I have held off from taking the plunge. But my wife kindly gave me a dozen Pro V1s for Father's Day. I have since hit my longest drive of the season, 240 yards. And I noticed that my slices are anywhere near as "slicey". Instead of being deep in the trees and now between the fairway and the trees. This bears further watching as it could all be coincidental.

I’m usually in the Srixon Q-Star Tour/TM Tour Response/Maxfli Tour/Wilson Triad range.  I need some launch help with driver and Pro V1x seems to give just a bit of that help.

I don't need launch help with the driver. I was a challenge to my fitter. High launch with a slice. Which is how I ended up in an 8-degree set to 9-degrees which closes the face over a straight 9-degree driver.

not sure what I did other than say don't go down the youtube rabbit hole (I sometimes need to listen to my own advice) You are obviously a great player and I just doubted you made a significant change to your swing to cause the shot issues or that you needed to make significant changes.   If I were guessing; and that is all I am doing,  it is probably an alignment or ball position issue;  something that has just crept out norm and isn't extremely noticeable.     Hoping you figure it out.

I found conversations in Scotland to be a moderate challenge. But then with my limited hearing they're also a challenge in North Carolina. Just ask GF. I went to get my hearing aids tweaked Tuesday before the trip to give me the best chance possible.

Good morning Spies, and happy Fourth of July for those in the US!

It's travel day to Scotland. Uber is coming at 11:30 to get me. In the meantime, planning a Rypstick workout, a quick run for cat food and finish packing. I set the alarm for 3:45 to sorta simulate UK time and reset the body clock. If I get some sleep on the plane that will be the most important part. Keeping fingers crossed that my boarding pass is correct and I have a window seat, which will help me get that snooze.

And a happy Independence Day to all you fellow United States men and women!! No golf today, I will be mowing the lawn finally. Our grass hasn’t been growing due to the heat a very little rain, but a couple days ago when it decided to pour, I have no idea why the grass exploded after it. So this morning once I coffee is done, I’ll be going and getting gas to mow. No golf today, but I have a tee time for tomorrow. Kind of scared how that’s going to go since I’ve not played in a few weeks. Anyway, hope everyone has a great day.

I finished the Rypstick workout, the cat food run and final packing before 7:30. Sitting outside now with my two cats, who like a little outdoor time. Uber in four hours. Glad I checked that this morning; idiot (me) had scheduled for 11:30 pm. Got that fixed.

Rypstick average was 92 mph today with nothing under 90 and high of 94. Slowly getting there; my first session in March averaged 80. Maybe in six months I can hit triple digits.
