Miserable round. Couldn't hit any club - especially my driver. Everything was 1 to 2 clubs shorter than usual. Chipping was atrocious. This was a humbling round for sure.

This was my last round in our Member-Member tournament over the weekend and it was quite solid. I didn't have many great holes here but kept the ball in the fairway on all but 1 hole and managed to put together a good round from it. Need to get to work on my putting as it feels like some other parts of my game have surpassed it lately...

Small gains on improvement.  Aside from a few really disastrous blow up holes I can almost play this game.  Had some really nice ball striking and started each half with a par.  If I can just learn to play more safely around water I'll drop score in fine fashion.  Only lost one ball over a house.  Wasn't able to find fairways as much as I'd like, but wasn't far off of them most of the time.

A little lower participation this week, but still a great turnout.  I applaud all who braved the heat and weather in your areas to post rounds in the VCT this week.  27 rounds at Net Par or better this week... Just amazing play from our membership!!

 

Low Net Score

Wow!!  BLITZING the field this week... with a career low (and an indication of lower score averages to come) @MsWalkrOfSky posted a Gross 80 / Net 58 (-14 net) score this week at Rea Park Golf Course.  Tremendous play MWoS!  Congratulations and I hope your great play continues (and your handicap continues to go down  ). 

Not to be overlooked @LinksgolfFever and @tommyb1683 posted -7 net scores at Laguna Seca and Apple Greens respectively.  @Pingzingny, @buckpillar, @CB Lobo 4 Life, @rkj427, @USMCSnyper @Randall Robbins @JerryB and @fredsharky also posted scores at net -6,-5 and -4 this week.

Most Net Birdies or Better

 

With a net score of -14, it would be difficult to top the 16 net birdies posted during that round by @MsWalkrOfSky, but because we share the joy here, this week's winners of the MGS Birdie Badge are @tommyb1683 and @CB Lobo 4 Life who each posted birdie counts of 12 net birdies or better in their rounds.  

Honorable mention to @Mr. Mushball for posting 11 net birdies or better this week.

This week @TylorJudd displayed his dominance off the tee with a 368 yard drive en route to his round of Net 75, and secures the Longest Drive Badge for the next week. Congrats Tylor.

This week, I'm adding a new category (Finally... better late than never).  Because we do have a WIDE range of golfers participating... it only seems fitting to also recognize the gross scores.

Lowest Gross Score!

@Javs put together three great rounds this week, and posted the lowest Gross Score of the field with a Gross 68 / -4 at Sun City Golf Club.  I am equally anxious for an opportunity to play alongside Javs, and equally terrified!  haha.  

Seriously... Amazing golf @Javs.  Keep up the good play into the Match Play Event (unless you are playing my team, then it is ok to have the wheels fall off  )

Great week everyone, unfortunately I won't be able to play for 2 weeks. Preseason started and i'm doing 14 hour days mon-fri, half day saturdays and probably sleeping all day sunday(aka taking care of my kids while the wife sleeps), everyone needs a break.
