Least favorite tour player.......and why

I would like to exclude Patrick Reed, simply because he is so frequently hammered.  But, if you cannot resist.  Name PR and post why.

This came to mind when a player recently made their way to the top of my list of least favorites........That player for me is Tyrell Hatton.  Why?

I can appreciate his heart on the sleeve demeanor.  Not everyone can be as calm and cool as Cam Smith or Adam Scott.  But when it turns to regular whining it gets tiresome.   Seems like most of the time he misses a shot he acts like he got robbed.  It couldn't possibly be his fault.  Probably the thing that pushed him to the top of my least favorite list was a recently posted clip of him hitting a tee shot, which rolled into the rough.  He loudly F bombs it, and then calls it a word that rhymes with runt.......With fans nearby.  Thus, my opinion of Tyrell.........He is a forged tool.

Side note.......The fact he bailed and joined LIV certainly didn't help my opinion of him.  But, I don't feel that way about several other LIV players, so I won't even mention it.............Whoops.

Most all of them are professional and respectful but I agree that T-Hat goes over the top at times 

It must be hard though. Imagine someone watching you and how you do your job and regularly criticizing you

Sounds exactly like being a cop!

Except when you’re a cop those exact same people tell you what you should be doing and all think they know the law better than you

Just to provide some balance and not to defend some of his actions, Patrick Reed (to my huge surprise) was one of the most approachable and friendliest Pros at LIV Boston.

Fred Couples won the "Most-Liked" and "Least-Liked" on Tour by his fellow players...

Gonna have to go with Talor Gooch.. Some of his recent comments just seem so out of touch. I'm all for different personalities in golf as I find it makes it much more entertaining, but he's really gotten on my nerves lately.

Tiger Woods.

Great golfer but also a very self centered and arrogant person, even though the media portrayed him as some godly icon.  Not even a nice person but most people didn't care as he'd been engrained in your minds as synonymous with golf.

I never watched golf for years as the only person you could see on TV during a match was Tiger, even if he wasn't playing good, they'd show him over the tournament leaders, over, and over, and over again.  Even if your favorite player was in the top 5 you couldn't watch it cause Tiger was on the screen. Really  made me give up watching golf for 10 years as how do you follow favorites when they got zero screen time?  I see the PGA still hasn't learned this lesson.

Thus the rise of tours like LIV where everyone gets coverage.  Like who cares what kind of sandwich Tiger was eating.... show me golfers in the hunt!!!!

I had the occasion to meet Freddy twice.  As with many "public" people, his private personality wasn't consistent with his public image.  In the golf world (& everywhere else), that's fairly common. Freddy, Lee Trevino and Ken Venturi come to mind.  Not people you'd want to play a friendly round with.

If I'm going with current PGA Tour players I think Kitayama. 

Not even because he has some sort of attitude or anything, but because he has burned me so many times during Fantasy Golf that it just makes it hard to route for.

Wyndham Clark, and it's not that close. I can't stand his arrogance. "They only play 54 holes, so I can catch up." He has clearly been caught cheating with no repercussions. I hate how much his Caddie helps on the green.

Mine has definitely been Rory. I know people love him, but his holier than though attitude, his whining about everything, his outspoken and flip flop stance on LIV, once his buddy Rahm went there, and his quitting the PGA board and I just heard yesterday he may be going back just grates on me. 
He flip flops more than politicians

I'm sure a lot of that is media portrayal, but I just don't really care for him. On the other hand I'm a fan of Xander and they're best friends, so maybe there's something to him I'm not seeing.

Great call on this one. He seems very unlikable. I even had a hard time being happy for him during the Ryder Cup no hat fiasco.

Got to be Scottie. I can’t bring myself to root for him for some reason. Great golfer, just not a fan. That is until it’s time for the Ryder Cup. Then I’ll root for him. But PGA events, I just hope he loses.

There are a quite a few that bug me lately. I won't rehash the Tiger thing, since it was hit on properly above.

Right now, probably Cantlay. He's just so slow to play and has that "I'm special" attitude about him that just bugs the crap out of me.

I agree with you Byrnzee. To me, he's the absolutely most likeable guy on tour right now. He has all the right attitude and he's family first, which I'm a fan of.

Does Wesley Bryan count? If so, I can't stand that guy's smug attitude. He looks like a walking backhand compliment.

But since he doesn't play the Major events, probably Cantlay or Harman because of their turtle pace.

I am going to zag and say I don't like Morikawa for a few reasons. Awesome player but a few things about him bother me:

- Seems like a total brand robot
- Seems a bit spoiled
- A "trackman/driving range" player that hits pretty much one shot all the time (he's really good at it but still kind of boring)
- Lacks personality other than smiling a lot (which feels forced)
- Doesn't seem to be friendly with other tour players except maybe the top 10 in the world. Carries himself like he is the next tiger at times (in my eyes)
- I really don't understand why he is in SO many advertisements. Must have an incredible agent because he, himself, is not really very interesting outside of his major wins. 

Just don't ever find myself rooting for him. Obviously guys like Cantlay and Keegan are unlikeable as well but I wanted to take someone off the board currently.

Wyndham Clark and it is not close for me. When he was quoted saying that he would love for the tour to be 100 guys every week and basically exclude anyone that is up and coming to a worse tour/lower level. Maybe he should remember where he was just about 1 year ago, A NOBODY. Before the Players and the Valspar, he was outside of the top 100. His arrogance to people outside of the top 100 is unreal. I will say, the story with his mother is very heartwarming, just not enough for me.

Me too , he has a big piece of The Golf Pass and is self serving when it comes to his comments , he’s very much like a politico . Arrogant as well

Mine would be Phil - from his Liv scandal to his gambling scandal to fights with other pros - he pure drama.  And I wanted to like him!

The only thing about Phil was at least he was always very generous to every single clubhouse person while TW never tipped any of them , Phil actually had left the property but turned around and went back because he forgot to tip the clubhouse staff -have a personal friend who worked clubhouse at the memorial who told how generous Phil was
