Good morning, Spies!

Back in the saddle after missing tons of work the last couple of weeks with the annual golf trip, then my daughter's college graduation and mother's day festivities.  Re-entry is brutal.

Welcome @JessicaMarko to the forum!  It's a great place to be.

I slumped hard on the golf trip, and again this weekend playing with my brother and parents.  I couldn't get off the tee to save my life, and iron shots were iffy at best.  Of course, I figured it out yesterday on the sim (after six terrible rounds in a row), and it's all down to a backswing flaw (coming inside too quickly).  Such a simple fix, and immediate amazingly positive results.  This darned game.

The LAB DF 2.1 impressed on the trip.  I need to learn distance control with it still, but it's accurate as can be.   I have never lipped out so many putts.  Like five a round, no joke, which is all on me.  I did drain an 80' putt after a blind wedge shot to save par; that was a trip highlight for the LAB.

Good morning Spies,

Second cuppa going down. I hope everyone had a lovely Mother’s Day. Our’s took a weird turn. We woke up to a dead animal smell coming from the master bath. Earlier in the week I saw a bird going into the vent for the exhaust fan and my wife heard chirping from the ceiling area of the bathroom. She wanted me to wait until the chirping stopped before I went up to investigate. So the chirping stopped and I investigated. I found the nest and two dead chicks. Mama bird broke through the duct and built a nest in the insulation. So I bagged up the the nest and insulation. Duct taped the hose. We want to get a higher “velocity” exhaust fan so I’ll replace the hose then. Then replaced the insulation. The aroma is gone.

For Mother’s Day I got my wife a bouquet of flowers. They were her favorite. Chocolate cupcakes with “flowered” frosting.

For dinner I made one of her favorites. Steak with chimichurri sauce.

 

I have a run (speed work) on tap. Maybe golf after as thunderstorms are in the forecast.

Good morning all!

Had a wonderful weekend that started off with 9 holes on Friday afternoon that were just meh. Iron striking was well off, still getting those feel shots sorted out. Did a good stack putting session after the round as I was done pretty quick. That was a nice experience and was probably a missed 4 footer away from a great session.

Then some Mother's Day activities with the family and wife including my wife and son biking 5 mile to a hike, hiking 3.5 miles, and then biking 5 miles home. My son then did yard work with me! Ah to be young again.

Good morning spies! Thirty miles on the bike yesterday though I had to change my normal route. My normal route is along a path the cities have put down under some high voltage wires on huge towers. When it gets hot (or cold for that matter) people use more electricity and that causes the wires to create what is called a nonconservative electric field. This nonconservative electric field can actually tune up a bike with ac power that zaps you hard enough to hurt. Yep, weird I know. I have not taped up the spots that I sometimes touch when riding and got zapped enough to change my route yesterday! 

It will be worse today as summertime temperatures are here. We will bump up next to 100 degrees this afternoon. Today may be the last time I walk for several months. 

@Erin B Yeah there is nothing like the second season for great hockey. The Canes were on fire, but sat too long. Yesterday they finally woke up. They don't have to win, just want them to make it a series! The one to watch has been FLA and Boston. Really great hockey. And last night the refs finally quit giving the Oilers a free ride on penalties, and the Oilers were not happy with the calls. Dallas and the Avs....meh. I grew up in Minnesota so the Stars are traitors and the Aves will always be tainted with Roy....

See, I get the honey do list and missed two days of the threads... man. Got some more catching up to do! At least I was able to get up early with the dawn patrol and get 9 in on Saturday morning... then the list hit me squarely in the face. Yippee!

.... wait a second @Rob Person. A week to replace a bumper?! I've been in the auto body industry for 27 years and can honestly tell you I have never seen a bumper replacement take a week! If it's a recall, they should have the parts necessary PRIOR to setting you an appointment. I hope that they can accomplish this recall in less than a week! 
If I may be so bold: what is the recall entail?

Good morning! Yesterday my wife decided she wanted to try a new bike trail close to our house so the kids could look at something different and it ended up being a fully off-road trail that had long grass and lots of rocks/bumps/hills. The kids did unbelievably well and stopped to walk when necessary. Even when they fell, they got right back up and started walking or riding without complaint! I was pretty impressed. Needless to say, we won't be going back until the kids are quite a bit older and stronger.

Today is back to work, but I have to work from home because my daughter has a cough, slightly runny nose and wasn't able to go to the sitter's today.

Good Monday morning All!

Damp, dreary morning to start the week but expected to burn off this afternoon and be a great day tomorrow. Then rainy weather returns Wednesday afternoon through Thursday with chance of storms but nothing severe predicted at present.

Hope everyone had a good Mother's Day celebration this weekend and gained enough favor for a multitude of future golf passes...

Going to play in a tournament with @RoverRick at his club in Sulpher Springs this weekend with a practice round set for tomorrow. Looking forward to playing a few rounds with him as well as the opportunity to enjoy a course new to me.

I do need to give a huge shoutout to @ChiefMikeOfficer who helped me out with some TP5 pix and Callaway Truvis for my collection. Very much appreciated to help me out with some of the past models  

This has also brought to light that the display racks that I use for these balls are full which means that I will have to take the plans that @Tom the Golf Nut posted about a year ago to build new ones. Bought some supplies to get started on that project yesterday as well.

Maybe these rainy days will come in handy after all.

Good Monday Morning MGS!

I hope everyone had a good weekend and celebrated the mama's in their life. It was perfect weather here in my neck of the woods and in between the festivities I squeezed in a couple range sessions. I got to use my new phone holder for recording my swing and now I can really focus on some trouble spots I am seeing. Super helpful!

Hope everyone had a great Mother's Day (for those of you who are UK based, don't worry it was not this weekend!) Worked all weekend so today is a golf day. Had a morning Trackman Major Event series. Figured if Taylormade want to pay for some free SIM usage, who am I to turn it down? Link is there for anyone with a Golf Galaxy near them. Played the back 9 at Valhalla. Was actually kinda cool to see a bit of the course before this weekend's action. Hole 13 is going to be interesting..... Shot a 41 (par 36)... I now remember why I don't love SIM golf.... Wedges and chipping

Playing a twilight round this afternoon tho, so we'll see how we go. Picked up a box of the new AVX. The old one was my go-to, so i'm interested to see how it compares. I also have a new chrome tour that a buddy gave me, so i'll do a little on course testing and see how it goes. Will have to be strategic about which holes, so the test lasts longer than the opening drive

I just can't with clients sometimes. One has spent two weeks blaming a couple of seals in a piece of equipment to be causing yield loss by aerating the product and overflowing one of their tanks. These seals literally do nothing but separate the product from the cooling water stream.

Regardless, they bypassed this piece of equipment for 3 straight days and still announced in the Teams group chat that the tank was foaming because of the seals multiple times per day. So apparently just the presence of these seals causes aeration in a tank that they aren't even connected to in anyway? What? Do these people ever walk out of their office and visit the actual production floor?

Good afternoon MGS Nation! Busy weekend around the casa, so it's been all I could do to catch up on the threads as quickly as possible!
Absolutely gorgeous day here in Absurdistan, also known as Maryland. Mid 70's, light breeze, low humidity and not one cloud in the sky! Great golf weather you say.... but, alas. SWMBO gave me that list on Saturday and I'm still at it. Clean up the pool and the pool area. Pressure wash and clean the pool deck? CHECK. Drain the pool? Working on it... the pump is a little slow. I closed the pool last year, made sure all my chemicals were good (again, CHECK), and this past Saturday (after I snuck in 9 holes at Diamond Ridge... but that's in the "how did you play" thread) I started pulling everything apart to begin the opening process. No problem, right? WRONG. Pulled the cover and it looked like a lake. Green / brown "water" and Eastern Tree frogs peeping for me to get the hell away from their home! I was kind enough to grab what eggs I could and took them to the local reservoir (my much better half thought I was a bit cocoa for cocoa puffs on that one...) so they would have a chance to hatch. I've been told by DNR here that they are about to go on an endangered list because all their natural water supplies are dying up. Witness them taking over my pool in 8 months!  

I've been a pressure washing/cleaning fool all weekend and now again into this afternoon. Pool deck is clean (thank goodness), most of the lake has been drained and I've been pressure washing the surfaces as I can reach them with the water getting lower. It's been fun! Stay tuned: once it's all done and filled, everyone is invited over for a pool party/crab feast! Well, back at it, looks like I've got another few feet lower and more slime to clean....

@Steve F just a FYI that the timing aspect of @Rob Person repair may have more to do with shop schedule than actual time to perform the task.

Big issue at dealership repair or body shops is lack of qualified personnel, and volume of repairs they schedule.

Saw that issue/concern on a daily basis in work role before my recent retirement.
