In the end it worked out fine .... myself, a two-some in front of me and a two-some behind were the only five people on the entire course.  It was heavenly.

 

That sun can be real mean sometimes. 

I'm glad you were able to get out and play, it looks like you had a good time.

Yup, me too! And wouldn't ya know? Not a dropnof rain that the all knowing forecasters predicted! And I owe my buddy a huge favor now.for "dragging" me out of the plans I had made for the day at 0330!

Good morning spies and a happy Saturday to you all! I was unsuccessful at getting out of working today so it will be another one day weekend for me. Oh well.  Temperature is still floating right around 36° and the snow is disappearing quite nicely. Just the right pace of melt that a person can see the progress, while streets and yards remain clear of standing water. 40s next week are going to be so nice!!

Sorry to hear that you daughter is still not feeling great @Josh Parker, hope that she gets relief soon.

It's looking like it's going to be a rainy day here, so there's not much on the agenda for today except for grocery pickup. We usually go on Sunday but we're going to a Chinese New Year celebration tomorrow.

@Jnoble89 have fun at the Lego exhibit. I took my grandson to the one they had here in Detroit earlier. Quite a cool thing to see and do.

I was exhausted from a very long, 60+ hour Monday through Friday at work, and still need to work on my work computer for about 6 hours this weekend, but will do that randomly, so I get to enjoy some of my weekend.

Thinking I may go to Carl's Golfland and use the range facilities there, either later this afternoon or tomorrow morning before the Lions game.

Hope that everyone has the best day they possibly can have, no matter the weather, or what may be in your plans.

Good morning spies- A little TactiSquatch coffee in the pot this morning!

Exciting day for me in the great PNW… today is the first of 28 events for my Golf league. This is the first time I’ve ever been a part of “organized” golf so I am excited to meet some new people and have fun playing.

Today’s event is a 1 man Mulligan. Unlimited mulligans but if you use it, you must play that shot. It’s going to be mid 50s with about .7” of rain expected throughout the day. I will be walking in my trusty Gallway Bay gear.

youth basketball on deck for the morning. the rest of the irons were dropped off yesterday for the recoil 110 re-shaft, there will be a full post with photos in t-series thread once i have them back. while at the shop i hit the qi-10 ls again, and that monster is a true delight. 10/10, would recommend

Good morning Spies!

Another grey day in IN, but warmer and snow is long gone.  I have coffee in my namesake’s cup …

and have started a few hours of work before FABWIFE and I head out to goof around for a bit.

Golf is on the agenda for tomorrow afternoon!  This will be only my second time swinging a club since Christmas Eve, and first since my back injury 10 days ago.  Fingers crossed.  I am absurdly eager to get out there.

Good morning everyone. Busy weekend on the books with a wheelchair basketball tournament taking up the bulk of our time. Snow is melting so it appears I could get in some putting green time tomorrow afternoon. Don’t usually get excited about time on a putting green but it’s been several weeks since I’ve seen green grass so I’m pretty stoked. 
Hope you have fun with the Legos and the kids this weekend  @Jnoble89. We took our kids to a Lego store in Kansas City when they were younger that was huge. Must have spent 4-5 hours there. I’m sure your will be a great experience as well.

My apologies, i thought i had responded to this yesterday, but i found my response as a draft this morning, so

with the caveat of small sample size, the nominally lighter weight hasn’t affected distance. The feel is better with impact being slightly less jarring over the steel. Shot shape wise, the draws and fades felt tighter and more controlled. I can still change the trajectory but the stock shot has a nice height and a descent angle in the forties. I’m excited to see how the rest turn out.

Thank you everyone for the well wishes on the kiddo. Everyone was asleep so I snuck out for a quick 9 and was back in time for breakfast. My daughter finally ate some food after a day and a half and seems to be on the upward trend. Bad news is, the wife said she was starting to feel bad. I have a feeling it's going to make its way thru the house.

Good morning spies! Golf related stuff to do this weekend include finalizing my golf scoring program and making it windows operational, short game practice, and a modification to my Zip Navigator to hold club head covers or just head to the course for a morning round. A conundrum I know....

Good morning all!

After an extremely long day yesterday dealing with an exterminator coming to the house, we had a great night sleep and I woke up early this morning to get a simulator session in. Worked a lot on swing mechanics and form and was really happy with the results I was seeing.

Got invited last minute to go to a comedy show in Milwaukee tonight. Some friends had an extra ticket and I'm happy to make the drive! 

Brunch with the wife this morning for Chicago restaurant week and hopefully a chill rest of the day until the drive later.

I didn't originate this, I'm lifting it from a different source, but I thought it was funny.  I modified it a bit to fit today's circumstances:

It's raining today, and expected to rain all day and probably tomorrow as well.  It looks like it may clear up by Monday.  

If it does the first thing I'm going to do Monday is head for the course, march out to the first tee and hit a drive as hard as I can to celebrate the cessation of rain and the chance to play a round.

The second thing I'm going to do is hit a provisional ....

You need to find the closest stay and play and book a room and a round .... to keep well.  For your own protection.  Sorry ... not making fun of your circumstances, I'm very sorry the family may be starting to pass a bug around.  I hope you can avoid it and all get well soon.

Morning Spies! Dreary and wet after last night's rain but clearing up and leading up to a great week for golf and related activities.

Not much planned for today as I need to get on the roof and see if I can repair or will have to replace a vent turbine. Previous hail damage has now made it unstable and extremely noisy due to misalignment and wear...

Maybe I can get a little time in the practice station between that and driving Miss Di (SWMBO) on her appointed rounds. 

Glad to hear your daughter may ne on the mend @Josh Parker and hope it doesn't hit the rest of your family to hard...

I’m a big fan of Ust recoil shafts. Last year I as fit/bought all new clubs except driver.  I previously had old ping G15 irons with the original AWT steel shafts.  Like all brands, graphite shafts come in a variety of weights, flexes, torques and kick points that will give different spins and trajectories.  While getting fitted, I did hit some TMs and PXGs with MMT shafts and loved the feel, but didn’t get the spin we were looking for.  I found the perfect match with the Recoils 460 ESX. Another thing that was subtle but definitely noticeable after a round, being older I feel less fatigue with the lighter shafts. But you can get much heavier graphite shafts to suit your characteristics.
