The Good Morning Thread

Good morning all!

Had a nice weekend with the family. Got some time outside and just relaxing which is always nice. Today is my middle child's birthday today, turning 5 already which is just crazy it seems like just yesterday she was born. I know it will only get worse from here. So there is ice cream for breakfast, cupcakes for dessert, and she has requested pasta for dinner (has not learned to live large on that one yet).

Good morning MGSpies from a cold sunny start this Monday in WNY where watching MyGolfSpouse leaving the driveway noticed tire tracks on an otherwise dry concrete surface, heavy dew was as much on tires as it was on glass and paint. 

Son's project car job went well replacement of the bell housing end of the hydraulic clutch actuator cylinder that needed the dad touch for tips and tricks for using the little features built into the design to make jobs easier. 

Warmer day here that has potential for record high, @ParFore74x leading the way yesterday and Robert @rkj427 and those in our region joining in today. After my January snow my thoughts are on the Sierras and the super heavy snows out there. Hang in there everyone, it will be a distant memory sooner than later.

Good Monday morning to you MGS Troops! 

Typical weather that we’ve had all last week looks like it’s going to continue here in the real Windy City. Yes Cheyenne is windier than Chicago. Still reminiscing about hockey. It was Zoey’s last game of the season yesterday and they closed out with a win. 

All in all a good weekend with our elected officials on Friday night and hockey over the weekend. I’m sad I didn’t get to play golf but too much wind and a little snow will do that to you. I hope all of you had a stellar weekend and have a great day today! As Hardy said in The Legend of Bagger Vance, “G*D is happiest when his children are at play.” Make G*D happy and play! If you can’t, don’t work too hard today. Happy Birdie Hunting!!!

Good morning spies! First day of the Coyote Run men's club championship today and I feel ready. Spent a couple of hours working on the A&M 9000 Putter Chipper on the practice area yesterday and on my short game. The 9000 putter tester is working great and produced some interesting results. My short game feels better. Using a mix of Dave Pelz instructions and my own adjustments that take my wobbly right shoulder out of the short swings. 

Did you know that balls that come out of the same dozen box could be dramatically different? I didn't, and I am referring to premium balls!

Good morning and happy Monday to all. A very slow start to the morning. Fortunately the coffee is beginning to percolate its way through my body and the muscles and neurons are beginning to fire, so there’s hope for me yet. Enjoy your day everyone.

should hit 70 or better today, so a range trip for driver testing is on the books. 

tonight at 6pm est, we will be releasing the brackets for the end of season VCT tournament.

also, this week we are doing a solo scramble challenge for the VCT. head over to the VCT threads for details later this morning.

MGS HQ has been talking about this for years.   Started when they observed odd results during their ball test; then they started ball lab to measure the consistency of golf balls for a size, weight, and compression standpoint.

Happy Monday everyone. 

Coming down off the weekend. Coffee is made, dog has been let out, and the baby has had her breakfast. Starting a day of work home and then heading to VT for the mid part of the week. 

We have amazing weather this week so I’ll likely be day dreaming of being at the course. Can’t wait for more daylight so post work rounds can happen more often.

Good morning & happy Monday Spies - back from another great golf trip.  Unfortunately, our team couldn't pull out the win (lost on a multiple-hole carryover skin on the last round), but it was a blast.  Really enjoyed the variety of courses in Birmingham, especially the Backyard, which is Oxmoor Valley's new short course (9 holes, but 2 different tee boxes per hole).

Busy week at work - interviewing for a new role and have 4 interviews lined up this week (plus 2 next week).  Hope everyone has a great week!

Morning MGS! Weather was amazing yesterday and I was able to put some work in at the range. Driver seems better with the changes I made and I really compressed some irons too.

It's my youngest sons 17th birthday today and you're right, seems like just yesterday we were on the floor playing with "race cars". Hard to believe he'll be off to college next fall.

He's requested a meat lovers pizza for dinner and a bacon/egg/cheese bagel for breakfast. He's learned to def 'live large'

I really hope this isn't just a tease, because it's starting to feel and sound like Spring in the morning now too, lots of birds chirping and some dew on the grass.

So I will try this again, It is monday, the daughter and I are back at daycare and work. HFMD is no freaking joke. I hate it! I am hoping to be able to hit golf balls later today, but we will see how my hands feel....  These blisters on the fingers suck! Never been so happy to be back at work either. I hope y'all have a great day, and remember to  BE THE BLESSING!

Good morning! Beautiful morning here! I'm going to have to figure out a way to get to an outdoor range or practice area or something today!

Until then, it's back to work and there's a lot to get done. We have a lot of deadlines to meet before the end of the month, so it's going to be a busy March.

Interesting, I had some spin discrepancies between the Chrome Tours and Chrome Tour X during my testing. @Derek Eskam and I both got less spin out of the Chrome Tour X than we did out of the Chrome Tours. Some of the testers got opposite results. Both Derek and I hit the X further with less side spin as well. This is very curious. Callaway says the Tour is less spinning than the X on their site. 

We hit 4 sim sessions and still saw the X have less spin with a driver and 7 iron and had more distance with all clubs.

Two cups down, a blueberry protein pancake in and ready to take on the day! It’s a beautifully sunshiny day here in CNY. Shorts weather for my run. I have a running workout on tap this morning and a PXG Long Game fitting at 1pm. SWMBO will get her swim in and venture to the SPCA to arrange the Foster dog.

Man had trouble getting up and going this morning .. blame it on the grey, overcast Monday blahs?

Hot coffee starting to do its thing!

Off to Chiro soon where hopefully they will release me from 3 x week. Yup it's been beneficial but sheesh having to go out and keep an appointment time THREE times a week, every week? C'mon fuhgeddabouddit!!

Top of the pot spies!   Our family arrived safely and we had a great, relaxing evening.  They must be worn out from the drive as we've not seen a stir or heard a peep from the casita .  We'll likely take them on a tour of the community and stop at Cimarron GC for today's "pop-up" grill venue featuring pulled pork sandwhich and sides.

Good morning everyone.

Played a very soaked course on Saturday where it was so wet you got zero roll, my drives were about 30 yards under my average.  They had so much rain in the area that I almost didn't make it to the course as I had to drive through some deeper water going across the road. 

The funny thing was, given those conditions, I ended up tying my best round ever from about a year ago (1 over 73)

And of course I ordered new irons last week that should be here soon, I think it was my old clubs telling me there was no reason to replace them...

Happy that spring is here in Central Virginia!

Good Morning everyone!  37º and the wind is still blowing 15-25mph.  I have cardiac PT at 8am and I have to take my blood sugar before and after, so only coffee for breakfast.  When I get back, we have to take my wife’s car to the shop.  A part that was ordered last year finally came in just before we left on our golf trip to Palm Springs.  Today it gets put on; nothing serious, bad sensor on the coolant.  Still making a decision on which car to take on the cross country drive to Kingsmill in May.

Good morning, Spies! Did my workout last night for about 45 minutes; feeling the aftereffects this morning. Gonna have to persist/get over that with the Fit For Golf test looming. I have my baseline weight now; hopefully will reduce it during the test, or at least convert some flab to muscle. I've already shrunk down out of some pairs of pants and had to order smaller.

Good morning spies. I'm in Chicago, and I'm wearing shorts and a short sleeve shirt to play golf because the temperature is 75. I've already played twice in March and six times in February, the warmest February in the history of temperature recordkeeping. This is weird weather, but for golfers like me, this weather is great.

Good morning spies! Didn’t have much of a chance last week, had to remove our tenants from our townhome, they did a silly amount of damage that still isn’t fixed yet. That coupled with snow…. In march here is ridiculous didn’t have a single snowfall until Jan28th made it tougher to get the old Chevy G20 up for sale, dog got loose also. The week was a doozy and I’ve never looked forward to a Monday so much have a great day!

Good Morning Spies!

Trust everyone had a great weekend leading into what I hope is a stress-free work week. Weather here will be shaky midweek with rain and potentially severe conditions Thursday. So, guess I'll just have to wait and see what's in store and if we will get our weekly outing in or not. At any rate I will get some range time in and get prepared for Sunday's TPT fitting.
