Happy day people!!

Had a good practice sesh yesterday - enhanced by an onslaught of a bit of Scottish weather, but I took that as a positive sign from Ye Olde Golf Gods

Heading for 9 a little later with my honey .. mostly clear and slightly cool temp, with a manageable level of wind.

The basic idea is to test out lighter and flexier shafts, eg say you play 70X now you'd try a 50A. Didn't work out for some people but for a majority, it seems .. including me .. it was very literally a game changer!!

Looks to be a beautiful day here in the middle-of-the-Mitten.  A bit breezy but near 70° and sunny.  Maybe time to break out the shorts (and the accompanying OB stakes.
 

On the downside, however, lawn tractor wouldn’t start this morning (hoping it’s only low battery), and the funny pages are looking too much like my life some days.

Good morning spies! Figured out why I push my chips to the right yesterday. It comes from the last shoulder blowout and yet another pain avoidance habit. I think I have a fix and will be off to test it in earnest later this morning.

Good morning spies! I skipped my morning round today so that I could finish up some yard work to make time for the Masters. I shall now watch some golf and roll some putts to pass the day until Homa starts his round and then I’ll sit down to watch the final groups.

I was up early helping move furniture for my cousin and then parking myself in front of the tv for the day. It's on and off rain most of the day so I have a good excuse to do nothing.

Good morning Spies! My sim got it's first virtual round last night. Sorta. GF somehow unplugged the TV in the garage and I was unable to get the screencast re-established once it was re-plugged, so played my round on the Garmin app on my phone. Then the issues with iffy indoor distance on the Garmin surfaced again. It was showing my drives went 75 yards. I'm short, but not that short. On the bright side, it liked my short game; I had two pitches/chips from well off the green settle within one-putt range. The problem was, with 75 yard drives, I was one-putting for double bogey. I hung it up after six holes of that, which I played in +12.

Today? Watching my Arsenal (I'm actually a dues-paying member of Arsenal FC) try to regain the Prem lead, then driving to Charlotte, which is ~ four hours depending on whether I avoid toll roads. I'll be listening to the Masters on Sirius XM, I suspect. Might go hit balls at First Tee when I arrive, depending on the status of the Masters.

@ILMgolfnut congrats on the first sim round!!!  Re: Garmin issues: how far between tee and screen and R10 to screen?  I am 10' from tee to screen and 7' R10 to tee and my distances seem pretty accurate so far.  Only have 8 iron data at moment, will post more when I can.

The great white north= 6 months/year you can't play on a course   This was also a "keep my sanity" investment.  I don't curl or coach curling anymore...this is what I love and what I will enjoy when I retire in 10 years (ish).  But I like the Arizona option. A lot!

Not morning but good day spies. Been working like a madman, haven’t had a chance to watch an any of the Masters which I’m pretty sad about. Still at work right now and going to heat up my dinner and try to watch a bit for the next hour. Rain has been on and off the past few days, hoping for a nice week ahead to keep my 2 rounds a week going. I hope it’s a great Sunday and weekend for everyone!

That's exactly the measurements I have. I'm wondering if the garage door being closed has any effect. I'm on the road until Friday night but will try opening the garage door next week.

EDIT: Garmin forums suggest adjusting the altitude setting on the Garmin and/or covering the concrete floor. I will try that next weekend. Fluorescent lighting was also cited as a factor. There isn't any other option in my garage, but opening the door and hitting during daylight hours would be an approach. I'll have to be careful because our cats can get out into the garage through a damaged cat door and thus get outside, and they're not allowed outside any more after we got a visit from Animal Control. So I'll have to block that opening into the garage.

Thanks, but I guess I wasn’t focused enough.  You need to give me lessons on that.  I did birdie the first two holes and quoted Bishop Pickering… “I could break the course record… theoretically.”   Wiped out the birdies on the third hole with a double!!   Had two more birdies in a row on 14 and 15, but wiped them out with a double on the 16th.  Shot 76.  Can’t complain though; first time I've had 4 birdies in one round!!

Two days with temps around 80º; loving warmer weather...  and I shoot 74-76 on the weekend

Lovely day to be playing golf.  Unfortunately the course was very wet, I should have brought my hip waders.  Hit more mud balls than I can remember. Greens nice and squishy and slow, slow and even slower.  Bunkers were small lakes. But I was playing golf. Priceless. 

Congratulations to Scottie Scheffler for winning the Masters. He put on a ball striking clinic in a masterful performance.  So what will be next year’s  Masters dinner.

I missed out on the morning post as I was running around with excitement and anticipation. What a great Masters tournament. Congrats to Scottie on getting his second green jacket. Well deserved and I truly believe we're witnessing history this year.

I was really rooting for Max Homa to get the win today but I'm just glad to see him get two good majors finishes in a row. Hopefully his time will come soon to hoist a major trophy. Impressive performance by Ludvig as well in his major debut.

Had some friends over today for a Masters watch party. Some cocktails on the menu included Transfusions, Azaleas and Juan Dalys (John Daly with tequila instead of vodka). Some snacks as well made for a very fun afternoon.

Ready for a relaxing evening as I prepare for the week ahead. Have a great rest of your Sunday!

Spent the morning finishing watching the Masters and kicking off my workday... Shame that Aberg couldn't quite get there, would have loved him to make it really close given it was his first but know he'll be there again.

Right with you there. Watch a bunch and then when I did try to sleep the baby was up and before i knew it my alarm went off to get into work. 

I do have a tee time booked for 2 hours so we will see how that goes and I had a fun round yeterday at a course I don't particularily like, but was able to give the Newton 5 dot another good run. Was better for sure after a few minor tweeks, but think I found a few things out along the way and was able to get a few good photos.

Rolling off day 8 of  21 (ish)12 hour night shifts in a out 5 hours and I will be headed straight to the range for the first time this season. Been getting a lot of indoor work in the garage with the R10 but it just doesn't instill confidence the way seeing the ball actually fly. Going to need a few more cups of coffee to power through this morning but I'm looking forward to this range session. 

I hope everyone has a good start to their week and manages to get some golf on their schedules.

I agree those Ghost bags are great looking, I'm still rolling with my green MGS Jones bag so I couldn't make the jump just yet. The pictures serve as a great advertiser though because it has me jump on their site for a bit and that any day patriot was very close to going in the cart.

Good morning, Spies! In Charlotte for work, woke up around 4:15 and remembered there was a reason to be up early: Entry opened this morning for two tournaments at Royal Dornoch while I'm in Scotland in July. There is always high demand for tournaments at Dornoch, and no particular reason to enter early since they do a random draw, but I got my entries in. One tournament is at the championship course (#10 course in the world per Golf Magazine, one spot below Augusta National) and the other is the next day at the Struie course, which is not a bad loop itself if overshadowed by the main course across the road. We'll see if I get in. Tourney entry for the main course was 60 pounds; to play there otherwise, even as a member of another Scottish club, is 140 pounds; it's 280 for a tourist. Which I will probably do if I don't get in the tournament. The Struie tournament is 30 pounds; regular rate would be 45, or 90 for a tourist.

Didn't get to the range as it was darn near dark here by the time the Masters ended. I have to drive to Raleigh this afternoon but may stop by the range on the way out of town, or maybe hit the range at NCSU upon arrival. My neck is finally almost back to normal and I'm itching to play.

Did get out and get a round in yesterday, and then back home in time to see majority of the back 9 of the Masters.

Another sunny and warm day here in the forecast, so hoping to get some real world practice putting in after work at the course close to home.

Good morning. Any guesses as to what I have been doing for the last 90 minutes? Yep, another day another 3:30 wake up call with a truck breakdown. 

Yesterday the tire guy said it was too dangerous to work on the truck there so I had to have it towed. $695 extra. Plus $800 tire, $300 rim, and $150 for them to come tell me to have it towed.  I had it towed to the yard and now have to have it fixed today.

Happy Monday spies, time to get back to the grind. We hit 80° yesterday and we might get pretty close to that again today.  Daughter has a soccer game tonight and the 75° kickoff will be much more welcoming than the 40° with rain and wind of last week. She has three games again this week and the other two games are back to 50° with a chance of rain. Golf might not be on the table until the weekend.

Good morning MGSpies from 'it's finally springtime in WNY to stay' on this third Monday of April (hope the US spies have their taxes done!) and the day my municipal course is supposed to open but from all accounts they will be busy with the mowers turning parkland grass into fairways, manicuring the first and second cuts around greens, putting in tee box fixtures etc.  Tee time temps this afternoon if they happen will be mid 50s and tomorrow low 60s before wet weather settles in for the rest of the week.

Work computer just going onto the online network, coffee should be ready upstairs on this zero commute workday, and the dehumidifier is running constantly for white noise that's singing a duet with the sound always ringing in my head - should be an awesome day   Hope your favorites did well in the Masters, my pool pics did not but I did my usual random pick so... the weekend was still awesome with last Veteran curling day for this season and curled some awesome stones to move my team from tied bottom of C Flight to winning B Flight , and inlaws treated us to dinner for wife's b-day later this week - and got my son's first USAJobs application submitted - all in one day!

Good morning all!

Scottie winning the Masters was not very surprising, it got close there for about 15 minutes before he decided to put the pedal down and just run and hide.

Had a nice weekend with an impromptu movie night Friday with some of our kids friends which was great. Then had a fire Saturday with some neighbors even though three was a bit of rain, but my son was biking up and down our driveway for like 3 hours.

Sunday I woke up early to drive 45 minutes for my first round of golf of the year to find the parking lot empty, no flags on the greens, and the clubhouse locked. My fault for just doing an online tee time instead of calling, but now I get to figure out how to get my money back since I set it up online. So still no golf yet this year.

Instead we had some friends from college and their kids over for some dinner and more biking. It was great to spend some time each day connecting with community.

Good morning all, supposed to have our first league round today but I don't think that's going to happen after all the rain and quarter size hail we got yesterday. The course was already a muddy mess before this happened. A friend of mine lives in town and sent me a picture of the golf ball size hail they got. Have a good one everyone.

Good morning and happy Monday! I'm sad that the Masters is over, however, I'm glad it was a well fought tournament. Scottie just looks unbeatable right now. He's simply too good.

I've got work today and then have 18 scheduled after that. Excited to get out and see what I can score at one of the toughest, nicest courses around. 75° today with minimal wind. Can't wait!

Good Monday morning , may you all birdie every thing you tackle today ! Our house guests have been here 9 days and head home this afternoon, so I can hopefully get back to my routine and prepare to depart to the north for the summer by Mother’s Day . Please be blessed !
