Good Friday morning Spies!

Sitting here enjoying my 2nd cup of coffee with the princes telling me to hurry up and get ready. My day to cook so it's breakfast at our local cafe and for some reason she seems to be in a hurry today?

Looking forward to my lesson this afternoon and hoping we find something that is plain stupid and easy to fix as is usually the case. Fingers crossed...

@EnderinAZ Hope your procedure goes well today and you are back on the course soon.

Working on some things at home today while we have a giant hole in the house.  Door is being installed for the new deck and the rest of the family is heading to SandFest.  Sucks I don't get to go, but we are all super excited about the new deck and family time we will spend on it. 

Rain forecasted all weekend so we will see if the weatherman is right.

Rain in the forecast again today, supposed to be better tomorrow(yeah right) I did get to do some chipping in the back yard last night under the lights, felt good too put club to ball.

Bring it on.  But Jim, you are correct, the Bruins have "schooled" the Leafs consistently over the years.  This year maybe different.  It all depends which team shows up in the playoffs.  Either way, should be a great series and who doesn't love playoff hockey.

Attempted to play golf this morning despite the rain.  Rain gear - Check, cart cover - check.  Steady rain before we left, but forecast predicting it would ease up in a couple of hours.  Steady rain all the way there.  Entering the golf course, no one in sight on either course.  My wife - this doesn't look good.  Me - courses will be wide open. No one to hold us up.  Almost no one in the parking lot (am I nuts?).  More often than not, by the time you get to the course, rain has eased up and you can get a round in.  Moment of truth time.  Forecast now showing more rain for at least a couple of more hours.  Course looking quite "soggy" .  My wife - I'm not playing in this ...., so decision made.  Went in and cancelled.  Rain on the way home.  Silver lining, on the drive home we stopped for a lovely breakfast, but I couldn't help but think.  If I was a member there, I would have at least played 9 holes.  lol

Corollary - this afternoon, beautiful sunshine, warming up nicely and a lovely spring day. Argh, range it is then. I need the practice

Oh man, that was brutal. Playoff hockey is so awesome, completely different animal from the regular season. High hopes for my Stars this season but it definitely will not be easy.

... should I even bother to mention I love my Capitals?! I think they are a +1600 to win the Cup. Let the festivities begin!

I used to play a lot with a single-figure hcp who would not play if the winds got above about 15 mpn ("Even the pros won't play or practice in this wind!").  Got to thinking about that this morning and wondering how y'all feel about it.  What is your wind cutoff, either sustained or gusts?

Geezch.. @Erin B and the Wyoming cadre would hardly ever get to play if 15 mph was the cut off point. My part of Texas blows hard ( NO jokes, please; I am trying to be sensitive in my old age ) a significant amount of the time. I play unless the wind starts blowing me over.

The more fans and teams represented, the better!! The Caps have a long road ahead but nothing is impossible. The LA Kings won the Cup in 2012 from the 8th seed in the West and they beat some tough teams to accomplish that.

@ParFore74x, I couldn't agree more. It's just rough being the fan at the bottom of the playoff barrel! Albeit, when the Caps are a high seed, they poop the bed in the first round anyway!! Except for 2018.... Ah, what a great year for hockey! 

Maybe being a cellar dweller is what we need!

I still am reeling from what happened to my Red Wings.... It was shaping up to be an absolute Cinderella story ending to the regular season, until the caps snuck in

I'm right there with you.  Just got back in.  The only time the wind was a big factor was, of course, on my approach shot on the last hole.  Big gust of wind in back swing that I couldn't stop and resultant chunk into the water.  Didn't ruin a good round -- just aggravated a mediocre one.  Oh, well.  Maybe Sunday's round will be calmer.

I know what you mean.  I hadn't started to play when I worked in Wichita Falls (1977-1981) but knew people who did.  Those winds would have been difficult!

To do the Parker Place Deck any sort of justice….. Need to get all those cuisine talented chefs from the Cooking thread to show up at Josh’s for a good old Texas cooking throw down. I am old, a Texan, prone  to falling down a lot , and still eat mostly adult type food. With those credentials; I volunteer to be a judge.

This morning’s round was very therapeutic, even though the temps were low and the wind was cold.  The sun was shining, birds were chirping, and turkeys were gobbling in the distance.  Needing to finish early, I hopped on the senior tees and proceeded to birdie 3 of the first 4 holes.  I finished my round with 6 birdies, 5 bogeys, and 7 pars for a 71.  I set a new personal best record with the 6 birdies, eclipsing my old record of 4 birdies in one round.

Being able to survive the malevolent malcontents that are normal everyday run of the mill middle schoolers; undoubtedly steeled your psyche to enable you to set a new standard in your personal golf game. Well done.
