Back from my first course experiment after the very positive driving range session. It was definitely a bit of a mixed bag today. I warmed up with the typical Speed Priming with Balls, and on the course I saw some really nice lasers that went dead straight, then also some some snap hooks (my miss when trying to do Max swings with balls). It was also around 40º for the entirety of the round.

I will say, on the shots that I connected with that went where I was aiming them I was seeing probably 10-12yds of better distance than my typical driver average, but I think I would need a more consistent round to be able to say how Stack has affected things. The course I played on today also required you to drive a cart, and I did feel cold/not warmed up between driver shots - so I'm honestly not sure it was an amazingly representative round of golf.

That will be part of my final review. TL;DR I think it compares very favorably. Not to give away tooooo much, but I think it's a question of budget...

I found this to be hilarious. I'm not sure what happened on my final progress check, but basically it was abysmal. And since the final report out is based solely on your baseline results, it looks like The Stack actually cost me distance. I can say, definitively, it did not cost me distance. But now my baseline for my next program is artificially low. So I guess the next program is going to make The Stack look really good?

IMG_0006.JPG.509295280b8843253149bb8a78a8503c.JPG

To be honest, I think some of this was my own doing. I was trying to sneak it in after work but before dark and I think I was rushing. I had a great warmup including my driver cruising at 108 with a couple touching 112 with >160 ball speed (which is not bad for a range ball). I certified my warmup at >10 mph more than what it wanted. And then when I went to air swings with the driver (no contact), it was like I aged 20 years (sorry, guys). I kept messing with the radar thinking surely it was wrong. The fastest air swing with the driver for the baseline testing was 102! Honestly thought about just scrapping the whole session and trying again tomorrow or Wednesday when I wasn't racing the sunset. 😕

I used superspeed for over a year and much prefer The Stack product because of the app experience.  I'll be writing more about that as I'm sure other testers who have used both will as well, but simple put, it is a game changer for helping me get the most out of my swing training.

I owned Superspeed for over a year, but to be completely honest I did exactly one session.  Then tweeted at them about their making an app to track sessions.  They said it was coming soon.  I was annoyed with stopping every swing to write down the numbers.  I know not a big deal for some but much like tying shoes is for suckers when BOA exists, I would prefer to just say the speed out loud and have something automatically track it.  So I decided I'd just wait to start until the app was ready, but it's a year and half later and still no app.

Bottom line I much prefer The Stack.

Anybody check if the referral codes stack on Black Friday deals yet?  I would guess no but it's always worth a shot.

And yes for anyone in the market all of us testers have the ability to generate a referral code.  Feel free to PM any of us for one if you need it.

I may have to do this if I decide to add this to all the $$$ I'll be spending on golf stuff this off season. Starting to get really pricey, my list.

Highest swing speed today in terms of eSpeed on session 4 of Foundations. It looks like this mirrors the testers.

A question for the testers (if it already hasn't been asked or explained) - are any of you active physically outside of the Stack and golf right now? Like are any of you consistently working out or physically straining yourself while also using the Stack?  I am curious how this would work and perform for me almost as a supplement to working out.

I'm in the Peloton ecosystem.  We have an actual Peloton bike, a different brand treadmill and a bunch of weights.  I use the Peloton workouts and do lots of different stuff.  I lift, bike, walk/run, yoga and stretch.  Now I have added in The Stack speed training.  I don't usually take days off from Peloton (I'm on a 80-ish day streak right now) but I will mix up all the workouts.

So right now I try to lift 2x a week and Stack 2-3x a week, then a mixture of bike, walk/run or yoga on the other days.  For lifting I will either do it same day as Stack and just make sure to do the speed training first, or I'll lift the day after Stack and have 48hrs before speed training.  So far it seems to be working for me as far as how my body feels.

So that's what's been working for me, is there anything specific you were wondering besides this?

we are going to have Sasho on our community call next week and I'm sure he'd be happy to talk about that if you're able to join.  I know from prior conversations with Sasho everyone's situation is unique, but generally if you incorporate stack training as the start of your workout versus doing it after heavy lifting you'll likely see better results.  The app also gives you a window when you should do your next workout so you're not doing speed training two days in a row.  He also recommends that you don't wait a full week to do your next session, as at that point his studies have shown speed training is not nearly as effective.

I have been inconsistent with lifting the last few months for my liking but I would say I’m still fairly active. I play basketball 1-2 times and week and get a lift in at least once a week currently. The stack workout isn’t really that strenuous imo. I have had my best sessions the same day I do a lift, but did worse the days I played basketball. Probably cause my legs are dead on those days. Going forward my plan is to do stack 2-3 times per week and try to do a lighter functional strength workout before and end with the stack. I’m going to start a GOLFWOD program soon so I’ll bring stacking on the off days of that. I would imagine that if you’re doing golf related workouts adding stack will only help build strength in the swing.

I use Fit For Golf 2-3x/week, run a few times per month, and walk 9 2-3 times/week. Reasonably active. 🙂

In the FFG app, it's recommended that you do your speed work before you lift to maximize the time from your last weights session until your next speed session. If you did a Stack session at, say, 5pm on M/W/F and did weights immediately after, then that would give you about 47 hours between Monday's weights and Wednesday's Stack, which would keep your fatigue to a minimum.

I'm not great about keeping that cadence because there's always plenty of stuff going on and it's hard to commit to a rigid schedule. But I definitely do not try to do speed work after a weights session on the same day.

Do you use the Peloton app for workouts and stuff? I don't have any bikes or treadmills or anything, although I have access to non-Peloton options at the gym. But I'm looking to grab the app and utilize the 30-day free trial and see if the various trainings (Pilates, Yoga, Stretch, Workouts, Meditation, etc)they have are worth the $13/mo.

I played a round today and it was freezing and howling wind - 20mph and 42ºF but felt like I was outdriving most of my usual spots (when there was a crosswind, not a tailwind) and even outdriving some of my usual spots when hitting into a headwind. For me the Stack definitely works so far!

Thought a screenshot from Arccos might be interesting for folks too. The three rounds on the left are since starting The Stack. I definitely feel like my dispersion is tightening up too:

Can’t wait for that community call @GolfSpy BOS.

Sasho is a great follow on X too.  He just posted his own progress; showed his 195g set speeds dip as low to 103, but he just completed a set at 110!

I use the app for tons of workouts.  Basically anytime I'm not on the bike it's through the app on my phone.  I got a bunch of different dumbbells to do the strength workouts at home.  I really like the Yoga classes as well.  I had never done Yoga before so I started with a beginner Yoga program through the app and really got in to it when rehabbing from golfers/tennis elbow.  I do the stretch workouts pretty much every day.  I liked Sasho's warm up through the Stack program, but I prefer to do a 5 min strength warm up and then a 10 minute full body stretch on the Peloton app before speed training.  It works better for my body.  I have done a meditation, but it's not really my thing.  A good 5-10 minute Stretch workout does the same thing for me and I feel better after.  I haven't done any of the Pilates but my wife likes doing those along with the Barre classes.  I also like the Walking classes, I do them on a treadmill but they also have some outdoor ones you can do.

Bottom line I am a big fan of the Peloton classes and app, it might not be for everyone, but it's been amazing for my wife and I.

If you want a 60 day guest pass instead of the 30 day trial just shoot me a PM and I can send you a link.  I don't get anything for it being used, but it would double your free trial period.

I've been following everyone's progress loosely. It seems like everyone's mountain ranges are generally trending up!

Has there been any injuries, small or large? As someone who used to swing as hard as possible, but could barely make it through 9 holes without back issues, I'm specifically curious about back tweaks and strains?

I'd really like to make the community call for Sasho, but I'm pretty booked Thursday afternoons. Hopefully I can get on for at least a little bit of it.

I’ve been battling some back and neck tightness for the last few months. If I’m being honest I feel better after a session as it seems to loosen me up pretty good.

leads me to believe mine is just a fitness issue, so I’ll be working to address that next.

I use Fit For Golf 2-3x/week, run a few times per month, and walk 9 2-3 times/week. Reasonably active. 🙂

FFG is great in combo with speed training.  I did a trial run of SuperSpeed in conjunction with Mike's programming and doing the speed work prior to the lift really helped minimize fatigue. Would 100% follow this advice.
