I would like to give a special recognition to @GolfSpy_BEN for all the work he did taking over the VCT this year along wtih @Golf2Much. You guys did increidble work all season and we are really thankful for all the time and efforts you put in! 

Can't wait to see what Season 3 will look like as I know there are some big things in the works!

Thank you for sharing the weekly winner results.  Wow, I admit I was blown away how well @RoverRick and @Javs played.  Javs, your low net and especially lowest gross numbers are off the chart as well as @RoverRick net birdies and low net scores. So well done to the both of you as well as all the other good and talented players who participated this year. Something tells me I got to start paying attention to the net birdies.

One thing, I hope next year the low gross count for points. Consistent low digit handicappers won’t be birdie machines, but they would have a shot at the low gross.

Low net - 500 points

most birdies - 150 points

long drive - 150 points

low gross - nothing

my predecessor probably should have added 150 bonus points for low gross when he added the badge during the season but alas he did not. 
 

A bit of a tease for Season 3, we are doing away with bonus points altogether. The scoring will be equitable for all players, not just a select few.

Yes, and the low gross was not an item at the beginning of last year. Hey it’s all good. I think we actually spoke on this in a DM. I know that next year looks to be even more exciting. Thanks for everything you do Ben!

Thanks to @GolfSpy_BEN for all of your work & congrats to @RoverRick for bringing it home!!

This was my first year playing in the MGS VGT & it helped keep me motivated....even through those 7s on short par 5s 

Spring is finally returning to the 'upper Midwest'....hush, @tony@CIC (new permanent Sunshine State-er) & when we can start playing off grass instead of mush/mud, we'll be posting scores.

Is there any capacity to adjust handicaps? I’m staggered that people can have multiple scores of 6 or more better than handicap and their handicap barely change. Perhaps I’m used to the system in Australia where only official scores count and need to be verified. Also an extra adjustment for scores of 7 or more better than handicap here

We are addressing handicaps in a few ways.

I don’t think it would hurt to require periodic (maybe monthly) of your current GHIN card. 

At least we can see that people are adding in their amazing rounds which should impact their overall handicap.

Then everyone plays straight up (no handicaps) within their flight. Top 5 from each flight make the playoffs. Additionally, if you win 6 weeks you are moved up a flight and are entered automatically into the playoffs also. However, it is in the new flight. Round one of playoffs are within the flights straight up. Then the winners from each flight play with handicaps at 80 percent.

Already built that in (slightly different groupings I believe). 

Working on a system so everyone who participates will have their own VCT handicap! 

One day the goal is to make it so anyone would be able to get their own handicap through the VCT, but that is still a ways off.

The new season will start soon.  You will play a round at your course or SIM and then post for the week.  This is my first season playing but it's been a lot of fun. It's been based off handicaps but I believe that will change slightly.
