Strangely enough I felt the same way about a Ventus Blue I had in another driver and ended up giving it to a friend's kid (who's young, strong, athletic).

Also demo'ed the Ascent PL Blue 40-R and 50-R and liked them very much .. to me they seemed very comparable in feel and performance to the GPLB ... fyi I have the 45-A.

So I guess that's to say, as @chisag already did, either one might work well for you!

Long (Broomstick) putter. Haven’t been having much luck with my putter this year. Been consistently scoring decent, but still losing around -1.96 ~ -2.12 strokes per round on the greens. If I could tighten that up, I could get to scratch.

I'm waiting to see if and when Titleist comes out with a new and improved T400.  I'd most like get them even though their cost will probably approach the national debt.

They just announced a new T350 iron which seems to be a hybrid of the 300 and 400. Not sure if they are planning on releasing anything closer to the prior T400.

Even though it’s been out of stock all summer I have long been eyeballing the Sub70 005 Sycamore putter! It’s a double wide blade build which I’ve been wanting to try for a while, has a great look, customizable options, and seems to have good reviews. When they restock on right hand putters I may just pull the trigger!

Played with a rental set of Rogue ST Max clubs over the weekend, and it's making me want to get properly fitted. Reached out to a local fitter this morning.

The driver was a Rogue ST Max D with a HZRDUS Silver shaft. Didn't record weight and flex, but I had asked for a regular flex. This club felt great, and was a touch lighter than my normal setup. Kicking my self now for my hubris in getting a stiff shaft for my Max LS.

The 3 Wood was also a Rogue ST Max D with a TENSEI Blue shaft. This club also felt fantastic off the tee, but I didn't quite figure it out off the turf. Ideally, I'd find a fairway wood that I'd feel comfortable off the turf as well but this was pretty great.

The rest of the bag I didn't fall in love with as much. The irons were Rogue ST Max OS (5i-PW/AW/SW), I really ended up liking the 5i (don't have one of these in my bag) but the rest of the irons did not impress me (especially the wedges). I couldn't figure out the hybrid at all and just left it in the bag. The putter was a Odyssey Ten 2-ball, it was also mediocre for me.

Still can't stop thinking about an Enroll EV5.2 Duo after just loving the way it sets and aimed for me. It has me looking at the ER7v as there is a good deal on a few still left from last your at the PGA SS near me. I prefer the EV5.2 Duo look and feel but not sure I prefer it $170 more. Also considering strengthening the lofts on the 9i and PW of the Takomo 101t's to get a 4 degree gap on all irons and then getting a 48 degree wedge to fill the gap.

Recently found a Scotty Cameron Select Squareback (2018) on FB Marketplace for $250, and will be meeting up to check it out in the next couple of days. The pics look as though it's in near perfect condition, so the fact is only 250 seems like it could be a little suspicious? That just seems cheap considering others in worse shape are about 320 on 2nd Swing. Either way, it's worth a look! 

Also a little worried about switching to a blade when I've used mallets exclusively for 15-20 years. Any thoughts?

Love this putter.  It’s my gamer.  But I agree, you need to definitely check if it’s authentic at that price.

Got a chance today to swing a Titleist TSR3 with a Fujikura Ventus TR Red 60g stiff shaft and...Wow! Just Wow. I now understand what all the ventus hype is about. I'm not bent to extremism, so I can't see laying out the $949 plus tax for that particular club. However, if the shaft itself could be procured for a more reasonable sum, it might work really well with head of the Rogue ST TD LS that I am currently gaming.

Check out Callaway Preowned or Mike's Golf Outlet websites to see if they may have that Ventus TR Red. Will be much less than $949.00.

I looked at CPO, but the best they could offer was a ventus blue, that may or may not be the velocore shaft. Haven't looked at Mike's, so I'll give it a try. Appreciate the heads up!

I am thinking about a new Driver.  I am fairly satisfied with my irons, but I am thinking a new Driver would greatly help my game.  I seem to be capped at about 180 yards on my driver, on average, and I am not sure I could not do better.  I tried convincing my with just how much better I would play if I spent a gazillion dollars, but she was not into it at all.....

went thru similar situation months ago.  PXG was running a reduced price on 0311 drivers so I grabbed one.  So far happy with it, didn’t gain a bazillion yards but it’s straight and got maybe 10 yards out of it.

Hope you can find similar results.

With or without a Scotty head cover and grip makes a big difference in price . I have a Mallet 1 scotty I am going to find a Scotty cover for so I ca n keep the other for my Golo S and then I will sell the Mallet 1. Its crazy just how much price difference which grip is on it can make.

My 48° wedge comes tomorrow, allegedly based on UPS email.

I am thinking about it being 7° bounce. I am pre-conceiving a notion that it will gap too closely to my 52/10°. I also have a pre-conceived notion that I dislike low bounce wedges. There's a high chance it gets bent 2° weak to 50/9° and replaces my 52° rather than being inserted as a 4th wedge. 

That would allow me to carry the 913 f2 5w I bought on a whim from the golf galaxy a few weeks back, which currently doesn't have a home.

Can't decide if I should pull the trigger on a second shaft or not. Evo III is what I would go with as something easier to swing than the ventus black. Just feel I could use the money for a fitting instead. ugh...

... The Ventus Black is a very demanding shaft and best suited to high swing speed players that produce too high a launch and/or too much spin with the Blue or Red. While exotic shafts are intoxicating for any of us equipment Ho's it is essential to remember you should fit your shaft to your swing and never fit your swing to your shaft. This is one of the area's where a fitting is well worth the money if you don't know exactly what kind of shaft works best for you. I have gone into quite a few fittings with my eye on a new hot shaft only to find it didn't work for my swing and the fitter only needs 2 swings to see that* Once you find out what kind of shaft fits your swing, you can Ho to your hearts content with shafts that are similar. But a shaft that is too firm or too soft and weighs too much or too little and of course a flex that is too strong or too weak is a recipe for constant struggles. 

* with better players that have a reasonably repeatable swing, a really good fitter won't let you take more than 2 swings with any shaft that isn't producing the trajectory, spin and most importantly the feel you need because you will change your swing to get the results you want.

One of my good friends from high school works in at a golf equipment warehouse. He always gets first look at the newest equipment and has even hooked me up with stuff in the past. Earlier this year he gave me a brand new Ping G425 Max driver (which I'm currently using) along with a handful of different shafts to try.

He just texted me the other day and asked if I'd like a matching G425 Hybrid since they had some extras. Don't mind if I do! He's going to send it out to me in the near future and I just need to find a decent shaft that fits my swing.

I don't mind my current hybrid but I'm definitely excited to try out this new one and see how it compares!
