Ship sticks

Ship sticks doesn’t stand by their policy of insurance.  Be very careful.  They bury different things on their websites.  If you ship in your club glove last bag like I did, they won’t pay for the damage to the bag.  They destroyed the top of my bag and the zipper was completely torn off from there.  Does it say they won’t cover it on their page when you book?  No, it is buried in a claims page. They don’t even say to look at the claims page.  It’s B.S. and wouldn’t use them again.  I’m out $400 on my bag due to their lack of insuring that it arrives in good shape.

Yeah that hurts, but.... They do suggest you ship your clubs .. even in a travel bag .. inside a box (available at the UPS Store, for example).

That said - I've had 2 negative experiences with them, plus a few positive ones, but either way whether I use them or drag the clubs with me through an airport I use a Samsonite hard side travel case.

That’s a bummer. I checked on the site, and yep, I didn’t find it stated clearly that the travel bag is not covered. Sendmybag is much clearer that their coverage works with freight-approved shipping containers like a shipping box or hardcase.

I sent my clubs to Florida last year and didn't have an issue. I did however ship mine inside a club glove bag, which was inside of a box. That really stinks the original poster had the issue. Could probably take it to an alteration shop or send back to club glove and they would repair.

I’ve fought with them before on a similar topic. I’ve now decided to just start paying for the extra bag through the airline & lug the hard case through the airports. Sorry this has happened. Not surprised they’re still not taking responsibility for their wrongdoings

Thanks for sharing this! I've never traveled with clubs before, and considered transporting my clubs in some manner when traveling home to Vegas this year. Things like this just make me want to buy a cheap boxed set so I don't lose/break any club in transit that's important to me.

I travel often with my clubs. Airlines are difficult. Delta for example will replace anything damaged as  long as it is in a hard case. They will also replace the hard case or pay to repair it. Wellthey destroyed my hard case twice in less than 4 months. They sent me a check twice. I repaired it myself both times. I took their money and purchased a club glove. The club glove has no signs of damage and has been going strong since 2019. I still have the hard case but it is such a hassle to travel with. An airline baggage claim manager told me that hard cases get hung up in the turns of the conveyor belt systems and I would be better off with a good soft side padded case.

You do have to sign a waiver with Delta if you don't use a hard case. But I pack my clubs well.

Shipping clubs have a higher chance of damage. The clubs are handled many more times. Pickup, loaded on a truck, unloaded at a hub, loaded on another truck and sent to the next hub or airline. Unloaded and set aside for the next truck to pick up and hopefully deliver to your destination. Handling is rough to say the least.

At least when you travel with your clubs you bring them to the airport. They go on a conveyor, get loaded on a luggage cart and brought to the plane. Loaded on another conveyor into the plane and reversed when you arrive.  More conveyors and less tossing compared to LTL shipments. At work we ship daily. Full truck loads have minimal issues. 95% of claims are from LTL ( less than a truck load) shipments.
