She’ll probably think I mean Golden Corral😱

Daummm we did end up at Golden Corral!!  That was after new paints and brushes at Hobby Lobby (got 4,000 steps in there) then Bealls Department Store for sneakers, 3 pairs (another 5,000 steps in there).
I did end up with 2 pairs of sandals that I wear out often.
She was happy so that means I’m happy.👍

Sounds like a pretty good day, my friend. I'm glad you and SWMBO got out together today. They shut the Golden Corral down here in town and now you're making me miss it.

Like I said earlier I did a lot of things and moved around a lot. Basically I never limited myself I saw something I wanted to do I did it. I would get tired and bored with it and move on to something else. A fellow told me when I was a young man not to limit myself to one thing for 30 or 40 years like he had. If it is something I was interested in doing I watched learned and asked questions.

The one between here and Myrtle shut down about 5 years ago now. I think the one in Dirty Myrtle off of Sea Board street is still going but we do not go up there

Good morning Spies,

I’m late to thread today. One cup down and had the 2nd cup on course. It was a beautiful morning for 9. Ran into a lovely feathered family on the first hole.

Last year during a round a family took up residence on the 3rd green. I then proceeded to play holes 4 and 5. The family during that time changed residence to the tee box on 6. I played 6 from the forward tees. 🤪

Yeah, they aren't afraid of anyone; I think I recognize several that have been here every year.  🤣  When we walk up on the tee box, they will casually walk off.  They seem to like the Forward tees the best, maybe because they are closest to the ponds.  They are messy!!  But it's against the law to chase, or otherwise harass them.

I think the avian Canadian Air Force sees my push cart and bag as a large slow moving animal because they move like a shifting tide out of the way when I approach just walking along.  One course not far from me has a dog that rides with the Ranger and does a pretty good job of keeping them somewhere else.  Any dog that runs nose low in their direction gets them airborne and gone like they do at airports and other places where large fowl can be more dangerous than just the biological hazard they leave behind.

I had a BIG vulture of some kind eating something in the courtyard by my patio. I looked out the front window and double take what the Jurassic Park is that a velociraptor? I could imagine walking a dog and going around the long way like nope.

The GC near here isn’t too bad.  It’s funny how the expensive restaurants get health violations but GC does well, go figure.

My wife in the past has managed Pizza Inns and Pizza Huts. She told me chain restaurants have their strict sanitation policies. She says that their theory is if one restaurant gets a bad reputation on sanitation etc that the whole chain may get that reputation. I know for a fact that these days their main issue is service. A few years back the Applebees right down the street closed. Not from sanitation but sorry service. I went on line one night to complain and there were over 600 complaints in a 6 month span from tourists and locals alike on sorry service. Right after that they closed it and I will note this was pre pandemic. A local steakhouse with 3 locations moved into that building and did so well they outgrew it in like a year and they re did a larger facility in the heart of Restaurant Row in Murrells Inlet. Same with Chilis located up by the old Wicked Stick golf course and this was pre pandemic too. We tend to eat at local owned places where we know the owners well. Our exception is the Waffle House in Surfside Beach where they have a real stable crew and treat us well. Now the Waffle House in Murrells Inlet frankly sucks. poor service and lousy food. I will go across the street to the 7-11 and eat a hot dog or a slice of cardboard pizza before I eat in there. I know my Manager in Surfside told me the other day that district went in there the other day and cleaned house. He winked at me and said that it does not mean we need to go down there and check it out. I told him naah I like his Waffle House and his people

We have a Bealls Department Store up in Surfside. It used to be Burkes. I used to buy all my large man stuff there. We were in there like 2 months ago and I could not find any large stuff for me. Now I do know in those type places it is how they get stuff and when. I asked a young lady working there and she seemed disinterested and could care less. Ok fine we went over to the bypass and went to Hamericks which is a larger SC based store. I bought about $200 worth of stuff which should last me a while. I doubt we will ever go in Bealls again

Morning everyone.  Big day for me today.  Taking a lesson for the first time in about 5 years.  Short term I know exactly what I need to work on: approach shots.  It's been maddening being 120 yards out in the middle of the fairway and not being able to hit the green.

IMG_3773.jpg.bd3f0ee08290c364fd2e80b732acbc8e.jpg

Long term it will be interesting to see what the instructor has to say about my overall swing.  I don't think I'm ready for a complete rebuild but could definitely handle 4-6 things over the course of a summer.
