The Good Morning Thread

decided to step on the scale today for fun. I don't really get caught up in numbers and really could care less what it says. I'll know if I feel good or not and my body will tell me.

nevertheless, noticed I'm down 11 lbs from my "winter weight" and was a little surprised. Been playing hoops twice a week for a couple hours each time and exercising daily for the last 3 months and happy to see it's helped. 

now if that can only translate to my golf game I'll be good....

Good morning, I feel your pain @MattWillGolf being just over the Pennsylvania line from you.  In the picture above you should see the Alleghany Mountains but the Canadian wildfires have them blocked out.  Stepping outside is like walking into the full windblown smoke - tough breathing outside.  Might reconsider golf league as I tend to react to smoke with my lungs shutting down, losing my voice and struggling to do anything physically until I can get get lungs opened back up.

G'Day all!

Wanted to go practice today and prep for NC trip but even just a short time outside in the yard earlier convinced me *not* to -- definitely feeling it in the back of the throat and down into the lungs now... 

The smoke started wafting into our area almost two days ago, but today is the worst so far .. and getting even worse as the day goes on...

..looks like a scene from a sci fi flick out there!!

So some indoor putting, I guess, and catch up on forum stuff and reviews.

We are further south and are getting a whiff of smoke outside today.  So far its not so bad as ro cause breathing issues.

Update - ALL league golf is canceled ! Tee time golf is highly recommended to cancel being advised they are golfing at their ownbrisk!

Thanks, I’m done don’t have to go back.  He usually wants to take one more look in another 6 months but he said it was up to me, everything looked great.  Any problems just call him.  He gets a birthday present!

Yay!  Congratulations on the release @Rickp!  I'm sure there was a lot of therapy work on your part to get it.

Thanks again and yes physical therapy was tough but necessary.  Those men & women are very good.  I had a few of the therapists from my shoulder surgery 5 years ago so I had a high confidence level.

Yeah getting worse outside this afternoon .. thicker, darker and now unmistakeable smell of burnt wood .. Wednesday Night League at my course cancelled too.

Tomorrow may be even worse AQI wise...

It's always nice when the Doc says ok - when I got released after my hip replacements, I was immediately back on the range and doing tons of walking to get back

@Rickp, it's good to hear about the positive results from the Doctor's visit yesterday.

Good Thursday morning everyone! Unfortunately any golf plans yesterday were rained out so still hopping to squeeze in an irons only round for the Edel testing. Though the rain is helping with any smoke we had in this area which is nice, but yes hope everyone stays safe. Saw some pictures from NYC and it was crazy to see. I hope everyone has a great Thursday!

Good morning spies! A brisk 52 degrees here this morning in Iowa with highs around 80. Had a really busy day yesterday, so today I have more of a relaxing day. Getting ready to take the dog for a walk and then will head out to the course to play a quick 9 holes. I hope everyone in the Northeast region is staying safe with the smoke from the fires. Hopefully it clears soon and everyone can resume normal daily activities. Have a great Thursday!

Good morning all, cool 46 degree morning here in Wisconsin. Early start to the workday for another trial run of our new HRA/biometric screening process. Trial #1 went well on Tuesday but had a few wrinkles, so we are aiming to work those out today. No golf on the agenda most likely for today after playing 9 with my boys yesterday, but might try to play a dew sweeper round with a buddy on Saturday morning. We will be staying home this weekend to get our garage organized (moved into the house in December and still have not done much with it, lol). Chances of spotty rain all weekend, but should be able to get on the course one way or another. Keeping my fingers crossed for a shipping notification from Cobra soon so we can get that challenge rolling. @chisag, @sirchunksalot & @CFreddie have all been working with the new clubs and to say I am excited to get mine is an understatement.

Good morning MGSpies from a late spring cool morning in WNY on this Thursday.  Off work now until Tuesday with the get ready day arrived for the meetup weekend.  PGA HOPE session 6 of 6 this evening at Niagara Frontier GC then turning south for the overnight run to NC.  Today long anticipated has finally arrived, and though the adventure started beginning of the week when message traffic picked up with definite plan details and banter, the real excitement is knowing the push is on and wheels will soon be in motion.  Hope golf is a part of your day my friends

GM & Happy Thursday!  Up early, no golf today but went with SWMBO to help with her Feral Cat Colony.  I guess her group are going to try and Trap, neuter & get them to a safe place.  Went to Diner afterwards and had a great breakfast that’ll hold us for a while then gym to burn it off.  
Good thing I’m retired I don’t think I could fit any work time into my schedule anymore.  
Getting ready for next week when one of our daughters and 2 of the Gkids are coming down.  I think our daughters want to check and see if we’re ready for a return to New England, nope not seeing snow ever again.

I’ll say that we are also disappointed that you won’t be joining us.  These get together are a great way to meet fellow forum members.  Wish it was simple for people to just drop everything and do something like this.

GM and happy Thursday.  Typical Thursday: work day started and PGA tour on the TV.   Supposed to be league night but as of last night we only had 3 of the 6 players for the round.   Hoping a couple of more have availability as the league require 5 players to not forfeit.  Rain last night seems to have cleared the smoke a little bit.  While not as bad as the north east, it was definitely noticeable in southern VA.

Good morning all, looks like a another great golf day today, this morning I get to play with my beautiful bride, looking forward to that havent played together for a while. Looks like my Tacomo irons are shipped and in Canada now, shouldn't be long before I get a chance to hit some balls with them... Now that will be a good day...

GM everyone!  Well, yesterday afternoon when my underground sprinklers were running... they quit!  Of course it was after the 5pm business hours but someone answered the emergency number.  Nobody else had called yet.  They sent someone to check; the pump shut down.  They got it up and running I had to run a few stations again.  It's hot here!  I woke up at midnight (thought about logging in and posting here but that's probably not a great idea... half groggy; might have to retract later) .  Checked the temp outside... 81º; can't open the windows yet!  When I got up at 5:15am, the temp was 70º.  It's supposed to cool off with a breeze and some clouds today, so that will be a relief.  

No golf today... more honeydo's!!

Top of the pot spies .  A gorgeous, cool morning here in Surprise, AZ. 0737 tee time at Desert Springs this morning.  Having hosted one of the PXG fitters in the area to a round of golf here on Sunday, my Monday groups round, men's league yesterday, today's round, and another Saturday, I'm really giving the back a workout ... so far, so good .  I set the alarm for 0530 to allow time for all the linkages to spool up.  Going to do a quick core exercise rep before heading out.  Have a great day whatever you have planned (or umplanned).

Irrigation systems are great until their not.  Finally have my system straightened out now have to redo coverage of some zones.

Nice Central Florida morning, 78 and sunny for now.  Expecting rain this afternoon, which may wash out golf late today.  But we need the rain.  Good start to morning, 2 miles on Nordic Track and now on 2nd cup of coffee & working! 

Thinking about you all in Upstate NY & Mass and hope you all are doing ok today! My cousin sent pics from downtown Manhattan yesterday and oh my the smoke from the Canadian wild fires, wow, it looked bad!
