Foz's got a brand new bag!

I did not think the day would come when I could say that I have Ben Hogans in the bag. That day is today! I got an email last month touting me with some unbelievable pricing. So I went ahead and ordered.

 

What I got:

 

Ptx irons with Recoil 660 graphite shafts, 21/25/29/33/37/41/45 degrees.

 

Tk Wedges with Recoil 660 graphite shafts, 49/53/57 degrees.

 

Wow! Are these babies beautiful!

 

 

 

 

My current irons are the Cobra F6, which play very well, so here is a comparative picture....

 

 

I guess you have to understand that I am a digger, so the "V-Sole" of the Hogan's fit my game. It allows me to swing aggressively at the ball without digging a trench.

 

 

 

My driver: Wilson Staff Triton, 10.5* w/Aldila Rogue regulars shaft

 

My Fairways: Cobra F6 3-4W and Cobra F6 Baffler 4-5W.

 

My Irons: Hogan Ptx 4-PW(21*-45*) w/Recoil 660 regular shafts

 

My Wedges: Hogan Tk (49/53/57*) w/Recoil 660 regular shafts

 

My Putter: EVNROLL E-6 at 33"

 

My Ball: Snell MTB/Wilson Staff Duo Spin

 

 

 

 

 

I will be swapping out the 3W, changing the 5W to a 4W(variable lofts) then inserting my Cobra Bio-Cell 2-3 Hybrid. And again, here I go, tinkering with my bag.....it's great to have options when you play different courses.

It all started when I read about the SCOR iron system of 4* gapping and V-sole irons. I got some SCOR Wedges and fell in love with them. They eventually became the new Ben Hogan Ft Worth irons and Tk Wedges.

 

I have a set of SCORs in my closet, 41/45/49/53/57 and use them with some Mizuno JPX800 irons.

But on a serious note - am very intrigued about using the same shafts in the wedges as the irons (makes total sense, of course!) ... could you post a quick follow-up impressions after a few rounds?

Very nice! I considered jumping in on the Hogan iron deal, but was hesitant because I'm hitting my current irons really well. I hope you they do well for you on the course.

Thanks PJ, my Sister and Brother in law dropped in for a week stay, so I have to spend time with them.....but while I am ....I am definitely hitting those sweet irons in my imagination.....

Thanks 808, I am getting used to the recoils. They are deadly straight, however, just about a 1/2 Club shorter than my Cobras on the 29* thru 41*(6 - 9). It's gonna take some time to dial them in. Even though the irons may be a bit shorter, I am chipping from the approach area, not the rough.
