Wait what, I just heard that Phil is NOT PLAYING in the US Open, the reason, he is going to attend his Daughters High School graduation. I will kid watching him Play, however, this is really good to hear. Being a parent is extrememky important, and for him to basically tell his family and daughter that you are more important is something we don't see often enough. Kudos Phil. Family First.

I'd bail on that course too. USGA is gonna have it at 8200 yards 6" deep rough, 17's on the stimp, and impossible pin locations. His daughters graduation is scheduled perfectly. Plus that is a once in a lifetime thing, good for Phil!

I'm a Mickleson  fan and not just because of his golf. .  He did the same thing for his wife when she was having some health issues.

Gotta respect Phil for that! Got to talk to him at the Colonial last week and he was extremely genuine. I really hope he gets his open win especially after this

Respect for Lefty, remember the US Open in 98, when Amy was pregnant, he said he'd leave if there was a playoff and she went in to labor. Payne won that year, but it solidified my respect for the man.

It was the '99 US Open, also another interesting fact on this, if Payne missed the putt on 18 they would have tied, and had a 18 hole playoff on Monday, Amanda was born on Monday, June 21, 1999, Phil would have had to leave during the playoff.
