Refinishing copper wedge

Recommended Posts

I posted this in another forum but realized this is more appropriate:

I am putting an old TaylorMade Hi Toe wedge with a copper finish back in the bag and as you can see from the photos below the copper finish is coming off.  Its not a big deal and just cosmetic, but does anyone have any suggestions how how to either touch it up or completely remove it for a raw finish?

It wont bring back the copper but it will clean it up.

Some 000 steel wool or and aggressive greenie with alot of elbow grease will clean it up.

They do make that for a drill attachment. You ca then hold the club in a vice and be a bit more precise and WAAAAY faster.

You can use a product know as Scotch-Brite. These are abrasive pads also called carbide hair. They are in a pad form. I will cut some up into circles and the put a hole through the middle. Then take a bolt nut and washers to make your own grinding wheel type arrangement. Put this in a drill and go to town. Once done then go to a finer grit to polish. I do this on clubs all the time.
