The Good Morning Thread

Good morning everyone!

It's going to be a busy day here. Like @Josh Parker, I'm firing up the smoker today to do a meatloaf for supper tomorrow night and I'm going to try my hand at smoking some cream cheese. I could do it tomorrow when we're actually eating it, but tomorrow is grocery day and I don't like the thought of leaving it unattended. 

We're meeting some friends for dinner tonight we haven't seen in a couple of months. It'll be great spending some time with them. 

Jamie, I'm glad you're settled in your new home and hope you can take a little time to relax while still organizing things.

Good Saturday Morning Spies!

Cloudy, 66 degrees this Central Florida morning. Going to be cloudy all day, tomorrow the rain comes in.  Ranger duties today, hope to get some chipping & putting after work.

Yesterday with our best girl…enjoy a text exchange with my wife after I sent her a string of videos. I’m so impressed with how much she enjoys this game. I’m not pushing, not giving lessons. Just saying hit the ball and she does the rest.

2 things I never get tired of on the smoker, meatloaf and cream cheese! (We use everything bagel seasoning,  and cinnamon toast crunch seasoning. )

Mine showed some interest with putt putt so got them both putters for home, broke out some pink balls that I had found and they were interested for all of 2 minutes!

Still holding out hope they will come around.

That looks so good! I'm going to be using the everything bagel and sweet peeper. I think I might have to look into getting the cinnamon toast crunch seasoning because that sounds like it would be great.

I think I might actually have that one but I'm not sure. We do have a couple of their rubs and I might have seen that one in the spice rack. Now you've got me wishing I would have bought more cream cheese. 

I appreciate the suggestions Rob, this is a smoke that's new to me and I was wondering what seasonings to use.

Hey All and Good Morning!!! 

Well after the big winds passed thru here I had a little more yard cleanup - my neighbor has a very old "tree", that's actually an invasive weed, overhanging the fence and when there's strong wind pieces of it come down into _my_ yard .. and in this case some big pieces...

Anyway, then went out for a date night with my honey .. where some random older dude just randomly gave us a $20 gift certificate .. which the pub accepted!

And today we're heading into the city to meet up with the three kids plus two girlfriends and one fiancé to officially celebrate the engagement plus several Feb birthdays!

.. hey look at us party animals crushing it two days in a row! Whoo hoo!!

 

@sirchunksalot hope that Urgent thing is just a way to get you in to see a dermo quicker! Around here my wife has tried to make an appointment and it's up to a *year* to get in as a new patient...

@Erin B if you haven't seen it there's a thread on here about VGA tournaments...

@Byrnzee really hope puppers recovers well .. yeah watching that is horrible and the feeling of helplessness that you can't make it stop is awful...

Happy Saturday!!

Hope you all have been doing well.  I had the chance to play 9 holes back on Monday and it was so much fun to get out.   Played with a few really nice guys!  I didn’t have high expectations as it was my first time out since September.  I have to say the course was in pretty great shape for MN in February!!  I ended up shooting a 51 with 17 putts.  I couldn’t hit off the tee at all but my irons and approach shots and putting were good.  Greens were in great condition and really rolled true. I was +2 on the three par 3 holes which I was happy about.   A lot more courses here locally are opening today and next week so more options coming.  I am heading to FL for vacation so we are going to check out some night golf.  Really looking forward to that!!

Good morning MGS Troops! 

As you can guess I’m in the hot tub again this morning. Yesterday was a long day of walking and golfing and drinking and having fun with my fellow veterans! 

This is true! 51 has been a learning experience. I’m learning that it takes a lot longer to start my body up. Anyway, I got to do a driver fitting last night after my round. The new TaylorMade, Callaway, and Ping drivers aren’t for me. The Titleist TSR4 is !!! It is made for me!

Headed to Denver this morning. Maybe I’ll add an extra stop!

Headed to the Detroit Autorama, will take pictures and post a link to them here on the forum.

Courses are starting to open here, so it looks like I may also be able to get some real-world outdoor golf in here sooner rather than later.

The VGA is great! I would encourage anyone that’s a veteran or has family that are veterans to join. $76 is all it costs for annual dues, and $20 per registration for tournaments. You do have to pay your green fees but they’re usually a reduced fee with cart and range balls included. It was only $60 for me to play at Pelican Lakes yesterday and last season I played TPC Colorado for $140, everything included. But the VGA’s main mission isn’t golf, it’s more. It’s about veterans and their families, and taking care of vets that may be depressed or, G*D forbid, contemplating bad things. I’m in the VGA for that first, golf second. Thank you for showing me the thread. I’m going to follow it . Happy Birdie Hunting!

Good morning all!

Very busy weekend for me. Started the day today with a nice long walk with my dog. Thanks to everyone for the kind words yesterday. He's doing much better now.

Grabbed a big cup of coffee on the way from a local shop in our neighborhood I've been wanting to try. I think it's a telling sign I'm getting older when I'm more excited about new coffee shops than new bars popping up.

Headed to a Formula 1 bar this morning to watch the first Grand Prix of the season. Such a fun way to take in the race with other F1 fans.

Have a lesson this afternoon that I'm looking forward to. Hoping the pro can give me some good pointers I can take with me this season.

My boss is having our whole team out to his house for a party tonight, so that should be fun. Always a little awkward to socialize outside of work with colleagues but I like everyone I work with, so I'm not too worried.

Going to be joining later this year. There are a few events near me coming up but I’m about to have a surgery later this month and not sure how long I’ll be out. After reading through the VGA thread and the VGA website it sounds like a really great group of people doing really great threads

Good morning spies! Today I will finish the chipper on the A&M 9000 Putter Chipper Ball Tester, and as I received the balls yesterday put it to work. I have not yet had a chance to get an app for my Ipad for video editing so that will happen tonight. I am really excited about this!

Good morning and happy Saturday spies. Today’s agenda is pretty straightforward. Currently watching Formula 1 pre race while waiting for the first F1 race if the season to get under way . My wife is making waffles and eggs for breakfast so I’m also keeping myself on standby just in case she needs any assistance. After the race I’m planning on a driving range session or at least chipping and putting at a minimum. Need to get some time in on the Sub70 58°.

Good Morning Spies!

Oh how I have missed you all. Traveling last week and inundated with changes at work left me with little time and even less energy to stare at a screen any longer than necessary.

Really wet here today. Raining all day yesterday but temps are starting to get up there later this week starting tomorrow. Will try to get out and hit some. First outing is end of March. I signed up for men’s league with a buddy starting April 15th and then I have a conference in Dallas in May where we are playing at the Cowboys Golf Club as part of the event. So…. gotta get my game in order.

Good morning spies and happy Saturday! Beautiful day on deck here in Wisconsin so hoping to get out on the course, even if it is to just chaperone the boys around and work on my short game. We have a cleaning person coming at 12:30 so need to be out all afternoon. Sounds like we may go bowling and get lunch (kids have been begging lol) then hopefully golf!
