If you could play one hole at Augusta, which would it be?

The limits of time and space are relaxed long enough for you to play one, and only one, hole at Augusta. Which one are you playing?

I'm going to go with 16, hoping for the accessible pin and my best chance at making an ace!

haha not sure the hole # but one that's always intrigued me is the one that doglegs left - where some people end up in the pines / pine straw - then goes downhill and across a section of the creek to that very sloped green.

I’ve always been fond of 11.  I love that hole especially after they stretched the tees back.  There are so many great ones namely the par 5’s but 11 is the one I’d choose.

I've been lucky enough to play two of the replica courses that have Amen Corner (Tour 18 in Houston and World Golf Links in Myrtle Beach).  Given we've seen more of the back nine than the front over the years.  11 is tough driving out of a narrow tree lined fairway and having every funnel to the water.   You sit on the 12th tee box and the first thing I thought was where do I bail out as the green looks so narrow.  I'd have to say 13 would be the hole.  It's a great driving hole (especially if your right handed and hook).  It has the down sloping fairway.  The risk versus reward on your second shot is incredible.  If you choose to lay up Infront of Rae's Creek, it's a tough pitch to an unforgiving green.  I think 13 has all the elements.

I love hole 7, Long par 4, fairly tight fairway, protected green by being elevated, not very deep and completely surrounded by traps.....but then again how can you not go with Hole 13 Azalea....Lock it in hole 13.

I think I would have to go for hole 12. While I would love the opportunity to hit driver the opportunity for a hole in one at Augusta is to tempting to pass up.

For me, it would be 18. Chance to close out a round where so many pros have had legendary finishes to win the tournament. Obviously there are many other iconic holes, but it’s 18 for me. 

Now the post didn’t ask what I’d shoot.. but I’ll answer that too. I think conservative fade off the tee.. probably 270 for me. Left with another 190ish in… probably playing 205 with the hill, I’m hitting a light 4hybrid to the middle of the green… and then most likely 4 putting

Initially I was going to say 13, but after having been there for a practice round last year, and seeing where they tee off on 18, and the chute they have to navigate,

it would have to feel like hitting the green on 12, so give me 18 and that pressure packed tee shot!

The 13th of course. Its the last hole of Amen Corner and every shot presents its own challenge. It demands a draw off the tee. You need to pick your shot with a very challenging approach shot into the green. And once your on the green your work just began.

Man, brutal hypothetical.  With only 1 to play I think you have to go for a par 5 for a few reasons.  First, you would get to hit a variety of shots.  While the par 3's are equally iconic you only get 1 full swing shot (unless of course you rinse one on 12 or 16 which is somewhat likely).  Next, the par 5's on the back nine offer some of the most exciting moments in Masters history.  I think 13 would have to get the call for me.  A more realistic chance to reach in 2 and one of the most picturesque on the course.

It's #13 and it's not even close.  I feel like this hole has a little bit of all the best parts of Augusta in it.  The sloping fairway, the risk/reward second shot, that creek in front of the green, and a green that allows for some long and bendy putts but overall doesn't seem too unfair.  I can't think of a better way to get the most of our my Augusta experience than playing #13 if I can only play one.  

 

That being said... if there's no stroke limit, I'll just "miss" into the next fairway quite a few times and see how much of the course I can see!

If I had the chance to choose any hole at Augusta National, I would choose the 18th. It's the ultimate test where you either know you've won the tournament, imagining all the past champions waiting for you by the green, or you feel the pressure of beating your playing partner to win the green jacket. There's just so much history and emotion tied to that hole.

For me, I’ve always admired the secluded feel of hole 17. Just the view from the tee box being surrounded by the looming trees, leaves me in awe. In addition it always appears to me to be quite the challenging hole with a narrow fairway (Yes, I know, all the holes there are quite challenging). So yeah, I’d definitely pick 17.

Anyone who knows how I golf, you will know I will be choosing one of the holes on the putting green by the clubhouse.  If I have to pick one out on the course it would be #11 and I am pretty sure I could bring it in under 72

for that hole.

13 for me. I’m definitely getting a slow play penalty even for the 1 hole because I’m sitting on that bench at the tee box for a while. To me watching the tournament every year that has to be the most secluded serene spot on property.
