Week 3 - October 10th through October 16th

Awesome results from the first two weeks of competiton.  

We have seen 3 separate net scores of 6 under (two in the first week and 1 in the second week) - who will be the first to shoot a WCT record net score of -7 or better???  Or post the lowest net birdies or better, or boom this week's Longest Drive.  Post your scores and talk about your round for all to see.

Well a disappointing first attempt at the MGS tour. I played Ted Rhodes (67.3/120) yesterday and had a miserable front 9 that completely took me out of it. Shot -1 (gross) on the back but it was too late to save the round. My course handicap out there is a 2 so I shot 77 - 2 for a net 75. Not great but it was fun to have a simulated competition. I even missed a 2 foot putt for par which truly brought back memories of my limited exposure to competitive golf. The good news is that my hdcp is now over a 6 so I should have a better chance in the future. Longest drive was 289 yds.

Edit: I had two birdies as well. One net (I only get 2 shots but I parred the number 2 HDCP hole) and one gross (birdied 18).

Great Round Matt!!!  Sorry I forgot to follow this thread when I posted it... so I missed your entry, or I would have commented earlier.

I had a very similar round this last weekend.  I played even on the front 9... did not shoot even on the back (+5). 

All I can say is... play often, and post often... there is still time to post a leading score in week 3 Vandy!

Might be able to sneak out this coming sunday. I have two kids under 4 so playing often is a pipe dream, haha. Good luck to everyone this week but I ain't catching a net 61 (SHEEEEEEEESH). To beat a net 61 at my local municipal I would have to shoot a 63 (gross) which.....is next to impossible.

Worst thing to happen to my golf game:  5 kids within 7 years.

Shot a 101 so net 81 =+10

No net birdies but one net eagle!!

Well the weather was gorgeous, I took an emergency half-day and went to play earlier. I hope I can play this weekend as well, as I tied my PB round ever.

Course: Cossett Creek

Handicap: 5

Gross: 74 +2

Net: 69 -3

4 total birdies: 2 legit, 2 Net, and 1 Net Eagle

Long Drive: 312 (gotta defend my title)

Meh.  Entering in with a snoozer.  Could have been great, but wasn't.  

Woodley Lakes Golf Course 70.5/117.  10.8 Handicap  85Gross, 75 Net.  

No birdies.  Couldn't get a putt to drop today.  Had a couple drives that could have been competitive if I had to way to actually measure them.

Yes, I do like this driver. Though that was wind and hardpan assisted. We haven't had substantial rain in close to a month, so courses are very firm right now.

Thanks for the post Syks, I'll get you entered... so.. no Net Birdies???  Remember with a 10 handicap - a par on any of the handicap holes 1-10 is a net birdie

Looks like you have it calculated correctly... we just need a second 9 to complete an 18 hole score for entry into the leaderboard this week

Thanks for that, I'm planning to play within the next 3 days depending on the rain etc.

PS, I forgot to add my longest drive of 223 metres on the 18th. Really hitting my Mizuno MP Type 2 Driver well, was a baby draw that I lost sight of because it was low flight and I've always been very high flight and worried I wouldn't find it. It hadn't to be baby draw because it started right fairway edge and finished center fairway.....

Played with my wife and her brother from Seattle.  Columbia Point GC is temporarily a par 71 this week; they are redoing the bunkers on par 4 #2 in the landing area from the tee, so they moved the tee way up to avoid getting hit... playing as a very short par 3.

Pretty poor day on my part and to top it off, I tweaked my back.  There is a lot of dew on the fairways so not much roll; I guess I over-swung a little bit.  A double and two bogeys on the front nine, so a 40 with the modified #2.  On the back nine I had 4 bogeys, but also 2 birdies, so a 37.

Par = 71
Course handicap = 4
Score = 77
Net score = 73  +2
Birdies = 1 Net and 2 regulation

Supposed to play tomorrow, but I may take the day off so I can hopefully play better on the weekend.
