... Thanks Tom, I think it was a perfect storm and I doubt I can repeat it. Here is an example, a really tough par 3 that plays uphill and into the wind. HUGE deep bunker the entire left side with no sand and angled so it covers about 1/2 the green. Go in and it's a sure bogie so I bail to the right a lot, usually missing the green and have a tricky up and down. Hitting my hybrid I had to play a 3/4 knockdown landing a little short and running on. Pin was back right so its just turned out to be a perfect play and the ball ended up on the back fringe for an easy par. If the pin was on the left, I still would have been back right with my hybrid leaving a difficult downhill hard right to left putt. It just seemed like I had quite a few holes that set up well for rolling on a hybrid when I needed to and no front pins. And I was locked in and laser focused, as I said something I have not been doing lately. As you know that is mentally draining, especially in 111* heat so I was really exhausted. 

... Gonna try again and honestly I will be happy with any sub 80 round as pins will be different and the winds are picking up to 15-20 this week. Good luck to you and your boys as this is really a fun challenge.

I think you mean the other way around...I'd probably be pushing around @chisag (while still kicking my ass).  The kid caddie works on a wheelchair, right?

I might have to borrow my wife’s irons. Not many aren’t hybrids.

I’m not going to challenge anyone, but I do think I’m going to go out on lunch tomorrow or Thursday morning if I have time and give this a shot. I’d have a 3w, 4h, 52°, 56°, 60° setup. There’s one hole in particular, over some water, that could get interesting if I go for the green, which of course I wanna try… with some shag balls of course

@JerryB is pretty close with his hybrids starting at the 6. In mine, I have the 4 and 5 in my set, which is going to make it interesting on a couple of holes. Back when I started I could not hit an iron and developed a variety of shots with a 5 wood so I hope I can recall some of the magic.

If my calculations are correct, it seems that Team 2 has the upper hand at this specific challenge in terms of club availability, coming in at 30, while Team 1 is just barely behind at 26 clubs. @JerryB gave them the slight advantage with his 6 woods setup!

Really thought about using the set PW and GW as well but would have been left with just 7/8/9 irons for an irons challenge.  

Or...do hybrids count as irons too?  Asking for a friend

Got in 15 holes but ran out of time to finish all 18 before scramble league started tonight. Gonna try to finish off 16-18 over lunch tomorrow so I can post a “total” score. Bothers me I couldn’t get in, but was stuck behind a group of 4 ladies with 4 carts for the first four holes not sure they knew I was there for awhile. Some good stuff to report, but I’m going to make everyone wait

non-traditional bags… in this challenge. I’ll allow you to split them into groups as you see fit, but if you use it as a “wood” or “wedge” this week it’s would not be able to be used as an “iron” in a later challenge.
