      Sub 70 Putters - 2023 Forum Review

      I don't post often, but felt compelled to add to this thread. I was not selected as a Sub 70 putter tester - but wound up buying one a month ago. I purchased the 002 model: This was my first purchase of any kind from Sub 70 - but have heard good things about their products (my neighbor players their irons and another friend has played a putter).  I researched online, then actually called the company directly to get additional questions answered. The order process was easy - and the putter arrived quickly. The packaging was amazing - and the personalized "thank you for ordering" card was a very nice touch! I wasn't able to spend much time practicing with the putter, as the practice putting green at my home course wasn't yet open from renovation. Our course is one of the few in my city that has bermuda greens, so I chose to not practice elsewhere - and just use the new putter during actual rounds on our bermuda greens.  Aesthetically, the putter is handsome. Sleek black finish with a black shaft as well - and the putter sits well at address too. What I really liked was the heavier weight of 390. The added weight created a sort of "point and shoot" approach which encouraged better tempo and confidence in the stroke. Distance control was good and the feel was solid.  I was able to play three rounds with the putter (all in less than favorable weather conditions) - and I found the putter to be very good. Our practice putting green just opened about 10 days ago - so I was able to spend a little more time testing. While testing further, I realized there was an issue with the shaft (a slight bend near the hosel). I called Sub 70, and they asked me to send in a few photos for their review. They responded quickly after viewing the pics and immediately sent me a return label and asked that I send the putter back. A few days later, I had my putter back with a new shaft and grip. I'm looking forward to more practice time with this wand, as well as getting it back on the course for regular play. My real driver in posting this was to call out Sub 70 not only for making a terrific putter -- but also to praise them for exceptional customer support! I firmly support companies that focus on the customer experience and my interaction with Sub 70 has proven to me that they get it. Kudos Sub 70!

      Why not? Both DTC brands, both offering heads that appear to be templated based on other brands in the same space. I'm just playing devil's advocate here. MacGregor is simply a name at this point, it's got no relation to the company that they used to be, unlike W/S as an example.
