It is looking like Golfspy Tim and I will be infiltrating Ping HQ early next week.

I have no idea what we will be doing while we are there, but I thought that I would go in armed with a batch of questions from our beloved forum members.

What are your questions for Ping?

That sounds like it will be very fun. I have one question. Why is the Rapture mini driver so expensive compared to the other clubs such as the Callaway 2 Deep and the Taylormade Mini-Driver? I'm really curious because I don't see why it has to be so much especially being more expensive than their drivers.

I'd like to know if they know how many Jim Wells putters are out there? And if so, were they all out of his personal collection or is that just the way they designate tour/sponsored players putters?

I use a Pickemup B for a putter but would like to cut 2 inches off of it. I assume this will affect the swing weight or balance or something of the putter. How big of a deal would it be if I did that?

Bingo. Tungsten + Titanium. = more expensive than steel (Callaway *Deep, TaylorMade Mini).

Any thoughts in introducing the Rapture driving iron in more lofts?  Love the look, feel and ball flight but the loft just does not fit into my bag right now.

How do they view themselves in the big golf marketing game?  Do they want to be as big as Tmag or Nike?  Do they want an extended line like those guys or Callaway?  Do they want to be viewed like Titleist, for the serious golfer?  What do they perceive as their niche, and what do they want to be in 5 years? 10 years?  What does Ping look like in 2015?

 

Has the ANSER series of irons and woods run its course?  Does Ping view the line as successful?  If there was one thing they could improve about their company, what would it be?

Would they ever consider going to direct sales, with a consumer web ordering system where the end user can directly customize clubs? I'm thinking not since they pride on the fitting system and partnerships with local club shops.

 

Any plans for a traditional blade-type wedge?

 

Are "counter-balanced" putters several manufacturers are releasing just a means to try to unload to the market the leftover belly/long putter head components? (I ask this as a new owner of a PING cb putter  ).

With the i series irons: please make an option with slightly less offset in the long irons to better match up with some other "players" irons that offer forgiveness with less offset. I think there is still room for such an option in the slight gap between the S series and the i series.

 

My question: will you do this?
