How's the durability of the paint on the driver/woods? I know at least one of you has had to have hit a sky ball by now! 

How are your grips holding up? You guys are hitting a lot of balls.

@palvord - Sick of the Michigan weather yet? Went from cold, cloudy and rain, to 90, humid and unbearable in a hurry.

I know your guys' ball striking is probably all waaaaaay more consistent than mine...but if you completely chunk a shot is there a way to take that out of Arccos' club stats?

Not meaning to make this an Arccos question spree, but what can I say, I'm curious and might be looking into Arccos or something similar

I'm very anxious to see what the Arccos Link has to offer when it comes out.  Will the GPS be better than my iPhone?  Will pressing a button to set the pin location work as seamlessly as promised?  It's a great system that may be getting even better soon.

Haven't hit any sky balls to leave a dummy mark yet but I did notice a nick on my 3 wood yesterday.  No idea how I got this.  Could it have to do with the CNC milled face?

@bardle because of the size of this thread, you may have posted and I missed it, how is your gapping looking with the one lengths? Perhaps post a screen shot of your Arccos playing distanced?

I have not posted it, its taking a minute for the data to level out. Here is my smart range and longest shot with each club. Longest is a bit better of a representation of the gapping for the longer clubs that I am seeing on the course as Arccos doesnt get that my chunks and punch outs are not my true distances. The Smart range is the correct representation for my scoring clubs because there are some long thin shots in the longest category for those (9 iron, gap wedge...)

I'm pretty happy for the most part with the gapping. Everything is doing what its supposed to when struck well.

I have some pretty narly skymarks on mine. An unfortunate side effect of sucking. Grips are solid, no signs of wear yet, I love them!

Arccos is smart enough to pull outliers out of what it calls its smart range, basically meaning that the majority of your shots should be within a certain range, as more data gets populated it gets smarter about what shots are outliers that aren't a part of that range so your stats aren't messed up.

Because of my time with Shot Scope and a range finder I knew how far I hit each of my old clubs. The new clubs are proving to be just as long in the winter as the Mizunos were in summer so my club selection has been easy so far. The only real gap is between wedge and the 52* and after trial and error a choke down smooth wedge fills that nicely. Because these clubs are so easy to hit, a three quarter shot proves to be no bother if the occasion arises.

Not really, I thought maybe I would miss the two iron but the four from this set is almost the same. Rickie uses one for a driving iron so it must be good

That is looking pretty good, IMO, and will get better as the system gets more data. Thanks!

My go-to shot in this situation is to hover my wedge at the equator and blade it, which punches it thru a good 6-10" distance of rough with a little topspin.  It's not the best for short sided or downhill though.

What clubs in your new bag would you keep and which ones would you replace?

Driver is in for sure, irons are 99 percent in, wedges are "don't look at them, don't breath on them, don't even dream of touching them or I'll cut you" in and the other two.... you'll have to wait till the end of the week to see

It's been a ball so far, this week is extra fun with the full shots, pitches and chips counting. As for what I would like to see.,. how about a challenge game between the F8 boys and us at say Pebble or St Andrews? Mods included of course

Guys sorry I have been mostly absent this season. Job change and crazy hours are the issue.

Who has changed their game by using the "caddie" in arccos?

Who has had the most fun trying to play using this feature. I found it both fun and frustraing.

You guys are doing a killer job.. keep it up..

There is so much more to Arccos, better presentation of the stats, the handicap feature, being able to edit during the round, see the course map, it is ready to go as soon as you hit start round etc etc.

It seems that Arccos rates your handicap a lot lower than it really is but that's ok. Im currently on 9.8 but Arccos has me at half of that. I suppose it makes me feel better about my game.

When you loft up or down, do you switch the weights? 

Does weight switching by itself change the launch as I'm finding in standard positions the launch of a 10.5 is very low.

 

What's the fairway f9 launch? high low or mid- does it sound the same as the Driver?

1. Haven't touched the loft

3. For me shifting the weight forward does lower the launch but it also increases the run so it evens out.

4. I have mine set to 14.5 and it launches high and strong. It has a slightly different sound to the driver but to me it sounds beautiful

This is my main gripe with Arccos as well. Driving statistics should be changed to tee shots or something. Maybe it's just a "me" problem but I think driving = driver shots

Those are nice smart distances, but the high end of each club looks scary. Have you run into any issues nuking the ball over greens, or does it play to the smart distance more often than not?

I think it will average out as you get more rounds in it. My GHIN is trending to a 10.7 and my Arccos is 11.3 trending down as well.

Yeah I mean as my swing is improving this season I'm seeing more and more distance out of the long irons. That 230 yard 4 iron wasn't a fluke. And I have several 200 yard 5 irons now. The clubs are consistent I think. I'm the one that's throwing in the curve balls. 

I think it's good though. With my old clubs, possibly due to a lack of forgiveness I couldn't just let loose, especially not with a 4 iron or I'd be in another state trying to find my ball. For the first time in my short golfing career I feel like I can really swing away with these and not suffer too much if I get too steep or roll my wrists a little too much. 

But yes. In the last 2 or 3 rounds I'm flying greens everywhere on accident. I posted some shots last week of them that were a little ludicrous...

Well yeah. The one lengths all sit just a touch ahead of middle in my stance now. Nothing else has really changed though for me.

It may just be me but I'm still sort of waiting for the data to get closer to being correct. The shot selection off the tee mostly looks correct but the approach choices are...questionable at best up to this point. I do love the feature I just think it requires more data to be helpful at this point.

I'm not a CCC tester but here are my thoughts on Arccos:

Mine might miss one full swing shot in a round. Tap ins are harder to get it to register.

It really drains my Pixel 3 battery.

Link got delayed because they wanted to add the ability to mark pin locations to it via a button. It's supposed to come out sometime in August or September I believe.
