I can't seem to swing as freely as I could with the old shaft so while I can slow down and be accurate. I can't really let loose or else I end up in the woods.

I just looked up the specs for the F7 vs F9 and it looks like the F9 is a tiny bit heavier, D2 vs D3.  It's also .25" longer.

Where did you have the heavier weight in the F7?

In the front. I started with it that way and opted for more forgiveness when I couldn't keep it in play so now it's in the back. The lofts started the same way too. And then I upped the loft for the same reason on the f9.

I noticed that you have the weights in the most forgiving option for the Cobra.  Were you not getting enough spin or accuracy with the heavier weight forward?  By having the LST, I would have guessed that to be your setup for the Cobra.

I have been so happy with the standard setup that I haven't even bothered to try the low spin setting.

I don't think switching the weights would be the best idea it probably only affects the spin by about 500 rpm and it would be more beneficial from an MOI standpoint to keep them in factory setting

The Cobra F9 driver, may be the driver to shut down all competition for the spot in my bag. With how I hit the ball, the flight it produces, and the increased success rate for putting the ball in a good position for me off the tee, I don't want to even look at other drivers. Ever.

image.thumb.png.6fb758ba909207f2167538687d5880d8.png

When I went for my fitting, I told the fitter that I wanted to stand over the ball and feel confident that I knew where the ball was going to end up most of the time. We went through a few shafts and ended up with a shorter shaft (44.75") to provide greater control. That has been a huge win. Most of the time, I stand over the ball and feel that I know where it will go.

image.thumb.png.efd913946fa5d1d40dabcd4869a74b91.png

According to the statistics, I am slowly eliminating my two way miss which makes me happy to see. Unfortunately, the miss right has been way offline and puts me into big trouble. My misses to the left now are not as far offline as previous drivers I have used. I am for the most part still in play with my left miss, which allows me an opportunity to score better.

image.png.82962d1be5c61b16965d9d955a878d33.png

My distance has also improved using the F9 as my average is now 253yds.

image.png.63201eb4733b19ec1eab17d40770b2de.png

The more I use this club and practice, the more I fall in love with it. I used to dread needing to pull driver out of my bag because it was a guessing game as to what was going to happen. Now, I am disappointed when I can't use driver off the tee due to course setup.

Now for my FIR stats for this week. Not every shot off the tee was with a driver. Some shots I took with the competition in mind, and others, I made decisions based on course set up.

June 15: 4/14
June 17: 4/7
June 22: 8/14
June 23: 0/8 (12 hole round cut short due to darkness)

Total: 16/43

As the competition progresses, I look forward to perfecting the driver and continuing to hit my goal of making it a weapon.

When these drivers first came out, I initially didn't like the white graphics as much as the yellow.  But the more I see the white F9's, they blow the yellows out of the water in the looks category!  These are drop dead gorgeous.  Helping your game is kind of a big deal too.  I am glad it is giving you a shot at better scores, thus far.

Ok so I had a quick practice tonight and thought I would try the weight forward. I hit 4 drives for three fairways and the fourth was five yards to the left. All four were long too Maybe I have been robbing myself of distance and accuracy . Further testing will tell all Oh darn, does that mean I have to play even more golf?
It's the sacrifice you have to make for science. There's a whole group of golfers that are relying on your data to possibly make a decision on what clubs to play. In the end, all your suffering will pay off.

Just curious, so a question to all the testers. How have the distances with the Cobra clubs and the Cobra Connect/Arccos measurements compared to your 'self-generated' distance expectations?

The Arccos GPS seems to fall within a few yards of my laser rangefinder on every shot.  It's a very good system.  We'll get into the specifics of each club category over the next couple of weeks but I can give you a little teaser now and say my distances are up across the board over my old set.

How’s the wedges fellas?

Wedges are rock solid as always.  I think my new favorite club is the pitching wedge.  It's the perfect club in the fairway or rough for any shot 125-140 yards away.  There's something extremely satisfying about a low flight 3/4 swing pitching wedge that hits on the green and just stops.
