The Good Morning Thread

I was sitting in the parking lot before walking in and saw this little fella hanging around.

Good Superbowl Monday to everyone  early logging in to the agency network to start the two most important days of the pay cycle, the critical days to correct anything that could cause someone a pay problem.

I'm the only one up and moving for work, wife's school historically has this Monday off to accommodate the gridiron chairborne diehards who usually need this day of recovery.  Daughter's school does likewise except uses it as one of their faculty development days so she gets a late start.  Corgis were up of course, now trying to get wife's attention for snuggles or something like that.  

Here we go, only took two weeks to drop from 1st to 5th in the pickem tournament which is more my usual experience, the week has begun

The coyotes have been crazy around here. Some interesting talks about how this population has increased over the past decade. Good size guy right there.

Black bear population to, probably not down your way yet but I am sure at some point they will be!

When I was teaching we did not but we did have a lot of substitutes working the day after.  I always taught in the public school systems, wife and daughter work in private schools.  I might still be teaching if I had opted for the private school job offer as well but the job offer with higher salary and benefits was too good to refuse when I was a younger man.  I always seem to choose the rougher road and tougher lesson

Although we are both retired, the coffee in bed is a carryover from our working days.  Weekdays I'm on my own!

He was a big one and looked like he hadn't missed too many meals. Our plant is located on what used to be the land that the Volunteer Army Ammunition Plant sat on and later became somewhat of an animal preserve. We have a nature park right next door that has lots of wildlife roaming around...especially deer.

I'm surprised I haven't seen black bear in my neighborhood. I saw on Facebook that there was one roaming a subdivision about a mile down the road a few months back. I live close to the Ocoee Wildlife Area in Polk County TN and they do live there and occasionally make their way down here.

They are slowly (looks like maybe quicker) moving that way. Populations of a lot of animals are booming. Not sure why but probabky lack of hunting?

I would think so, it seems like the number of hunters decrease every year. I don't have the numbers to back it up, but it just seems that way with other things to occupy our time. I haven't been in probably 12 years. It could also be less access to land that allows hunting. We used to have Bowater land we could permits for, but they haven't been a thing in forever. 

I've threatened to put up a tree stand in the woods behind the house more than a few times and bring out my bow. I just need to get a new string for it, but then I could use that money to buy golf goodies.

Yea I am not sure how tags work for bear, but around here its probably 0. Deer are on a massive rise the past few which is good to see, but there is money there and incentive to keep the population hardy.

LOL I am retired and love it------ I basically do what I want with certain limitations----- The only real have to I have is my Church Work on Sundays. I generally get up early because I have most of my life but if I want to go back to bed then I do so. I get up and either play or hit balls or maybe work in my shop some. I do not play in any of the mens groups because first off they cheat but then again I am not obligated to make certain tee times on certain days. Even the Saturday Shootouts are not a must. If I tell the guys I am playing then I play. If I decide not to play that weekend then I do something else. And I relish in my retirement and am not bored or overworked

Good Tuesday morning, frosty outside but will be warming up to be a warmer day than I am used to this time of year in WNY.  First light before 6:30 and start of working from the basement affectionately called the dungeon - 60F/15C down here wearing layers and an electric heating pad helps.  Coffee is almost cool enough to sip.  Mentally enjoying the cold knowing once summer heat arrives there is only so much cooling fans can provide with dehumidifier adding to the heat making air drier.   Last PGA HOPE indoor session at Golf Dojo this evening helping to mark time moving towards outdoor golf locally.  

Added edit - hard frost this morning, scraping needed to get wife and daughter off the driveway to work.

Morning all!

Mild temp out, got my workout in and just sitting down for some breakfast (hash brown and sausage) with my coffee. No work today so taking a lackadaisical morning before dropping my daughter off to the in laws. Have a funeral to attend (no one very close)

If its not too late maybe get a sim round in? TIme will tell

My morning started about 2 hours ago... starting my 2nd pot of coffee... time to make my daily fruit and greek yogurt breakfast... and imagine it is sausage and hash browns like @Lacassem.  

Another day, another chance to do better at every single thing I screwed up yesterday.

I just did the math... I'm 54 (in a month), I have 5 kids still living at home, I enjoy buying a lot of golf equipment and guitars... 

let's see..... multiply years times kids plus necessary new golf and music equipment divided by wife's eye roll.... carry the 1.... yep.... 31.6 years until I can retire.

I worked my calories off and I will have my smoothie here soon.....I am a firm believer in dont with-hold things that you enjoy, you will end up just binging later and thats never fun.

You will notice I wasn't jealous of the early morning workout...haha.  I think "guilty" is a better way to describe my feeling on that one.

Good morning fellow MGS’ers! I’ve been absent on the forum for the extended weekend, we took the boys to the Kalahari Resort and waterpark in Wisconsin Dells over the weekend. Our boys LOVE the water and our oldest has always had an affinity for water slides. I thought about putting this in the family forum but this was the first (of many) notifications I saw when I logged on this am! Feels good to be back posting from my brief hiatus!

Thanks TCB! It was too short (aren’t they always?) but the Dells is a hop, skip and jump from where we call home so we get to do short weekends as we want to. It was just one night and two days of waterpark, but was very fun nonetheless!
