Good Morning Spies!

After being kicked in the back and slapped by my sweet little daughter all night (in her sleep of course), I decided to get up and get some coffee.

Busy day ahead before closing out the year.  Will most likely be asleep before 10 tonight and perfectly ok with that. Haha

Ahhh... tis the morning,  of the eve, of that last day of 2023... 

Honey do list is amuck, replace infinity switches on stove, pack away 2,477 Christmas decorations, re-rearrange the living room back to normal (what is normal?) Prepare the foster kitty room in anticipation of the next batch later this week.

I did have a bit of fun yesterday playing mini golf with the 3rd son. Used the AI-one DB putter and posted a sloppy video in the testing thread. 

May you all be able to awake in the new year with new goals,  fulfilling dreams, and more plans to golf!!!

Meanwhile, my city is preparing for the worst NYE drop campaign, again! (The peanut drop)

Various bits of site maintenance going on today. Hopefully nothing interrupts your user experience! Just a little house keeping and organizing to help keep things a bit smoother. 

Notable changes include Forum Re-Organization - Several topics have been merged together to help people place new topics in the correct spot. Prior there were 3 or 4 general spots for something to be placed which lead to a bit of a chaotic placement. Spy News and General Equipment Talk have been merged,  Japanese Equipment has also been merged into these. 

Golf Clubs has been created and merged Driver, Hybrid, Fairway, Irons, Wedges and Putter Discussion. 

19th hole is still the 19th hole.

General Discussion now contains the Cigar Lounge Threads

Golf Balls/Shafts/Grips have all been merged together

Contests/Deals etc have been merged into once place

Spy's in Comp has been renamed and now is more focused on the VCT

Among other changes. 

We hope that for the brand new users this allows them to find where to post questions easier and makes things more convenient for all. Thankfully with updates to the Search function it is easier now than ever before to find threads and topics and we want to push people to use that more when they can't find something. 

This is only the start and there is a LOT more to come!

Good morning all,

Happy to say my wife and I safely made it home to Chicago yesterday after a 10-hour car ride with our pup as our travel companion. It was a long day, but getting to sleep in our own bed last night was worth it.

Excited to have a couple days to ourselves before we return to the grind of work. Have a sim session scheduled for tomorrow morning with a friend. Will be nice to shake off some rust and try to get back into a routine for the winter. I'm even considering joining a 24/7 simulator place that allows you unlimited access via an app... not sure if I want to splurge on that, but it's an interesting concept nonetheless.

Not much on today besides some football (Go Bills) and a low key evening at home with the Mrs.

Good morning MGSpies from its still too dark to type this without a light to see the keyboard WNY on this very last day of 2023.  The last of my parent's generation in my family passed overnight putting all those who came before in my clan on the other side of the veil, and that is a good way for peace to be with the end of the year.  Still too warm here for freezing conditions even if sub 32 shows on the thermometer at times and white stuff attempts a futile bid for presence - ski resorts in the southern tier are making snow on the main hills and are open for business  hoping it is good for those who still ski as I learned in such conditions in the last millenia. Buffalo has a Ball Drop every year from the Niagara Mohawk Building in downtown and this will be a warmer more pleasant weather night for it than I remember, and our display is no nearly as suggestive as the one where @Rob Person lives (that's a heck of a balloon drop net). 

Resolution for 2024 will be the same one as past years, that has never failed!!!  It is to make a resolution next year

Happy NY eve. Chilly day here in Manatee land. Quiet house 2nd cup. Thanks for encouraging words from folks, it's appreciated. Haven't figured out how you guys grab a name and respond directly but it's very cool. Watching marathon golf, EPL, football not a bad existence. Friend stopped over yesterday and told me "sit down shut up and relax ". Repeat.

Good morning and happy last day of 2023 spies! Sure seems like this year flew by but that probably means that I was having fun. Friend had a knee replaced three days ago and I need to stop over to see how he’s doing so I’ll take a pizza with me and watch a football game with him and his wife. I’m sure that I’ll still be home before midnight.

For any of you spies that go out to ring in the New Year, be smart and be safe on the roads. Have a great time.

Good New Year's Even morning everyone!!  I played in cold, foggy weather yesterday and I will be doing it again today.  I'm going to have 18 ball drops in the cup to celebrate the end of this year, and if some of them are birdies, I will celebrate with my flask of Wild Turkey Honey Sting... oh wait... it's New Year's Eve; I can celebrate pars if I want too!!  If the fog beaks like it's supposed to, we could have some sun and warm up to 40º.  I'm walking today just to keep warm.  

Let's all celebrate the end of 2023, whether it's the great memories you had or if you just want to get this year over with and start fresh.  I have a feeling that the coming year will be a good one, and I'm looking forward to it.

Had my knee done in January. If he is 3 days into recovery he hurts a bit and is bored. Take him with you to get the pizza. Gets him out of the house and out for a bit of a walk that is just long enough to really make his day. 

Hope everybody has a safe and happy new year and does not become a statistic. I read a blurb on a local news site this morning that there were over thirteen thousand deaths due to drunk drivers on new years day in 2021. Scary eh? 

Nice and cool here today, 64 for the high. Sun and some clouds will be the recipe for my range practice this morning. I really want to play well tomorrow. Lost three balls on Friday. Two in the water and one in a palm tree. Just keeping those balls in play would have dropped my score from a horrific 89 to a reasonable 83.

Good morning Spies,

Up early, dog fed, travel mug filled with morning coffee. Head out to pick up cinnamon rolls at the bakery. Arrive to see a sign “Closed until 1/2/2024”. Oh well. I will finish my cuppa then walk the dog.
As I reflect on 2023, I am grateful for you all on the forum. I want to thank all of MGS Forum staff for keeping the content so accessible to all and for the testing opportunities you were able to provide for the members. And I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to test the Paradym X irons.

Good morning everyone!

I'm just waking up and got settled into the couch with my coffee and the pups. It's quite a bit later than normal, but I'm enjoying the extra rest. I did wake up with a bit of a kink in my back and am going to have to see if the massager will take it out. 

It's the last day of the year and while my year had it ups and downs, it's been an up year here in the forum. We've seen a lot of phenomenal testing opportunities and most importantly, a lot of new wonderful contributing members. It's been great to get to know y'all.

We are going out to my wife's cousin's house this evening and hang with them. We like to keep things low key. 

@Josh Parker I'm like you, I'll probably be in bed before midnight. You're one of the few that are up when I normally am and I'm not used to being up late either.

Happy New Years Eve, everyone!  It's a balmy 33° here, north of Atlanta. I spent most of yesterday getting GSPro set up and configured on a PC in my basement sim. It's a huge improvement over an iPad and e6. Today I'll bring up the boxes to get ready for taking down the elaborate Christmas decorations we put up every year.  I hope to work on setting up a webcam in my sim for putting, then off to an old friend's house for dinner tonight. We will probably be home by 10 to avoid the traffic drama.

I hope you all have a safe and happy NYE, and a prosperous New Year! Hit 'em long and straight!

Good morning Spies from a snowy Motor City area on this New Years Eve.

Not much on the agenda today, actually going to SWMBO sisters house later as it is her B-I-L's birthday today.

For those who may be going out to celebrate the ringing in of the New Year, be smart and safe in all your decisions.

Thanks to all the MGS staff for their efforts in the past year to make this forum the best it can be.

Looking forward to what 2024 may hold in store, and hoping that all those here may meet or beat their goals and objectives in the coming year.

going through some 2023 pictures, trying to decide what was my biggest golf accomplishment. 
I would have to say updating my golf equipment. 
thanks to Takomo and My Golf Spy and the opportunity to test and keep the Takomo 301 MB’s  I was able to purchase two ping G430 hybrids, and a Taylor Made 16-1/2 degree 3 wood. 
These clubs will take me through 2024 and beyond. 
My golfing New Year’s resolution stays the same, “commitment to excellence “

Happy NYE everyone. As much as I’d like to be in bed at a normal time, SWMBO has an evening full of games and shenanigans planned with some friends. Still working on my ideas for walk up music and debating whether I truly want to lug a huge case to the first group outing and onto the first tee. How does a guy say no to that?

Still sorting through my goals for 2024. With the addition of the Stack to my workout regimen I’m thinking I should add a goal to get my swing speed up to 115+ by the end of May. 

Hope everyone has a fun and safe final day of 2023. Look forward to seeing what 2024 has in store for all of us.

A good morning and Happy New Year to all of MGS!

Got an earlier start today then I intended thanks to the pets. At kept jumping on me like “Feed me human!” The pup was patiently sitting near the door but huffing and puffing as a sign that he has needs. LOL, so of course I woke up and started the routine.

Now I’m up and on my 2nd mug of java. Browsing the web and waiting for football games to start. Probably get a workout in before hand and then settle down for a bit.

Good New Years Eve to all !

  Weather here looks like it should reach mid 60’s here in the Villages Florida, started a little brisk at 44°. Practice today as our regular group is playing tomorrow morning , for us retired guys holidays are just another day , we usually play on holidays minus Christmas  As a group, there will be anywhere from 20-32 fellows and a fine time will  be had  and a beverage or two consumed after - only resolution is to play more , golf enjoy life and be kind

Weather has been very nice last two days allowing the project to become reality.

Very early good morning Spies on the first morning of 2024. I would like to say it has been an uneventful morning here, but currently at the local hospital emergency room as SWMBO had a fall at her sisters house and hit her head on a wooden cabinet and now requires some stitches to close up the wound. All that happened without anyone having any alcoholic beverages. Once I get out and back home it will be bedtime so I thought to get this out of the way before tomorrow afternoon if I get the sleep normally needed.

Hope your day and start to the New Year is all you want and need it to be, and something enjoyable is in your plans.

Good morning and happy new year!

@rkj427 sorry to hear about swmbo!  Hope the healing is quick.

 

Fireworks woke our daughter up so sleep involved being forced to the very edge of the bed.  I keep reminding myself to enjoy this time while she's little and that it goes too fast.  

I know many start new years resolutions and I am probably one of the few that don't follow that tradition, and instead am always setting new goals.  So, for those of you that are starting new years resolutions, good luck, chase your dreams, and be kind.
