Jeckel and Hyde day! 7 pars (3 legit birdie putts that did not drop) 7 doubles and a triple. par 5's were my downfall off the tee!!!!! my Irons were really on just too much trouble off the tee today.

Keep it going teammate!

Good round on freshly punched greens.   Ball striking good after taking a couple of days off to reset after all of the heat/humidity.

Very nice round!

I shot 87 on Wednesday. Tomorrow is the the first day of the Club Championship. I broke down Thursday and bought a Ping G430 LST and mounted it on a Graphite Design Tour AD DI. It combined the straightness of the G425 and the distance of my Stealth Plus. Today was the best driving day I have had since 2015 with 71% of the fairways and was way longer. I had 1 that was 270 with no wind or slope help.

IMG_1409.jpeg.130aa4eaa03f475d07ebfceba609f347.jpeg

I played 27 holes and the last 9 I used my G425 3-7 hybrids on the last 9 and hit 56% of the greens and shot a 35.

It’s been over 100° for a couple of weeks and the fairways and greens are hard and fast. I often play the 3-5 hybrids with stiff shafts but decided to play them and the 6-7 with regular shafts to see if I would get higher flight and more decent angle to hold the greens. It seemed to have some merit. I think I’ll game them tomorrow in the tournament.

Played Friday afternoon after we were slammed with heavy rainfall earlier in the week. A lot of courses were closed due to flooding, this one was open, and for the most part the whole course could have been considered "casual water" even in the driest parts. A lot of standing water, pools and large puddles, so it played as all carry and no roll at all.

Paired up with another twosome of late 30 to early 40 year old men, and had a fun time.

The front 9 for me was "scrambling" as I did not hit a lot of green in regulation, but the short game saved me for score, as I only had 13 putts on the front. The back 9 was better as far as greens in regulation, and also led to more 2 putt pars, so 16 putts on the back.

Posted a few pictures, and I did have a natural birdie, net eagle on the number 2 handicap hole. A par 5 where I hit 3 wood from the tee, utility wood from the fairway, and a wedge from about 100 yards and made the putt.

Next round for me is Sunday at a different course, so hopefully the ground dries out a bit before then.

Not a good day overall. 5 3 putt greens today although the greens were still healing from being punched and vertisliced getting ready for snowbird season here in Florida. So the greens were pretty bouncy today.

The bag full of hybrids was a dismal failure. Although only 1 hybrid shot got me in trouble. That was actually hole high but bounced into the bunker and left me against the opposite lip with no chance to hit the ball towards the hole.

All the other blow ups were caused by poor, nope, horrible swings. I finished the round with triple-birdie-quadruple-birdie. There was also the lost ball in the middle of the fairway on number 11 causing me to go back and re-tee.

Both doubles on the front were bad bounces. 13, 15, & 17 were just horrendous swings followed by bad swings.  Luckily, there were a lot of guys playing poorly. It was 104° by the time we were making the turn and the heat was getting to everyone that I talked to.

Edit note: I actually birdied hole 5 today. Not that it made a huge difference.

Not sure if I applied the net birdies correctly as it’s my first time doing this. Any help I’d appreciated. I didn’t play great at all but managed to knock around a 82 which considering I couldn’t get off the tee was acceptable

Today was not my day!  My home course aerated last week.  Over the next several days, some rain took care of the sand top dressing and they didn't get a chance to mow the greens.  As a result, it was anybody's guess on where putts were going to go!  I was lucky to have only one three putt (which for me is saying something).

image.png.c225755e0dc1de1a58ac307deaccae75.png

My total putt count was on the high side, my up and downs about normal at three and the 64% fairways hit in regulation was a little low.  On the upside, my greens in regulation was up one to 17%.

We're expecting rain this coming week from tropical depression #10.  Hopefully, it will help repair the aeration holes faster and give me a more reasonable putting surface for the start of the MGS Match Play tournament.  Fingers crossed!

Wasn't terrible today. Yesterday at the range I started some hosel shanks so I was a little nervous but turned out ok. There is a wildfire about 12km from this course so the greens were particularly dry and fast, but then some had water so different SEER ratings across the board. Couldn't get a ProV1 to stop on a green, but throw a Z Star Diamond in there and poof, stopping power. Putting has been really tough as of late, averaging around 36 putts per round. Driver was going strong today, with a 348, 345, and 343. I tried swinging a little lighter to tighten up dispersion but I ran out of tees... Such an idiot hahahah.

A few of the yardage markers were quite off, and that resulted in 2 strokes right there. Really was good though for not practicing much this last 6 weeks. Played with @LBee and she is doing so great, she shot a +21 which is her best round. She's come such a long ways and I'm so proud of her. She even cranked a few drives around 240/250 mark.

I've got a tournament on Friday so fingers crossed we get some things aligning to bring us back down!

I have to credit Callaway and this new Paradym Triple Diamond to some degree, this new technology is pretty bonkers. But thanks! Hopefully I can get back to lower scores. You are no slouch off the tee yourself @Javs!!! If the only the big stick did it all!

I don’t know my scores today. It suffices to say they were not good enough. But yesterday I was 5 over through 4 holes. Today I was 1 over on the same holes and then made a bunch of doubles on holes I parred yesterday. Then I had 3 sevens on the back 9 yesterday and birdied 2 of them and parred the other one today after lipping a putt, and bogeyed the 2 holes I birdied on the back 9 yesterday. Golf is such a fickled  game.

I do not think I scored the same on any hole two days in a row.

Played the front two times which is a par 37 (three par 5s) and scored 38/40.  All my new clubs in hand know and feeling more and more comfortable.  Last week received my RTX6 52* and 56*.  Had one short range session and these 18 holes.  Hut some great shots but still feeling iffy on my ranges on full and partial swings.  With my old clubs I had a 4h but no woods.  With the new, I purchased Ping G430 Max 5h, 7w and 4/5w.  Took several sessions to get them adjusted but now they are amazing.  On each par 5, I hit the 4/5w for my second shots. What a game changer!

I started with the HZRD Smoke Gen 2, and it was lights out automatic. That shaft I fortunately broke and Callaway sent it back with a HZRD Black Gen 4 and still hasn't been quite the same. I've had my longest drives with the Gen 4, but I had the best results with the Smoke Gen 2. The Gen 4 seems to need a bigger break in period. I'm going to try a Ventus Blue TR more than likely next season
