Bryson WDs from the Saudi with hip and hand injuries.  A lot of people may start rethinking the speed obsession if this guy is perpetually injured.  Maybe even me included…come to think of it I never really had the tendinitis issues I’ve been fighting until I started all the speed training….

I actually made it home last night. I thought the flight to Akron would get cancelled because a lot of other Ohio flights were but it didn't. I had to wait an hour for my wife to arrive because she was trying to get an Uber for me with no success...she was "scared" to drive to the airport. Well, strap it on and get your arse here because I'm not sleeping in the airport. Two hours after I landed I made it home.

We've got some folks that need to fly out of Logan that we actually put up in hotels in Boston so they could get there in time, in the event that their flights aren't cancelled. Crazy weather all around.

very interesting.  I have to think part of his issues are with the sheer volume of balls he hits.   There has to be some "overuse" wear on his body too.

I wonder what that injury history is like for those in the long drive competitions.  Are they more prone to injury too?  Seems like if they are Bryson would be too.  

Hopefully it's nothing serious, love him or hate him it's good to have him out there on the course.

I wonder if the sudden bulk up for Bryson over the last year or so might be one of the culprits here. Long drivers train specifically for that over years, vs BD's almost immediate weight gain.

Most of my issues came with trying to swing a billion miles per hour.  I’m neither Bryson or a LD champ, so this probably has no correlation at all, just a late 30’s out of shape dude trying to be super human, which I found out that I am not.

At my age and with the mileage my body has on it I also have to watch what areas I push and how much.  There is a definite balancing act on the possible pain / injury vs possible payback in golf performance.  I have focused on flexibility and maintaining a level of strength rather than getting stronger and this has worked pretty well for me to minimize injuries and maintain distance.  Eventually it is a losing battle.....you may get into an overtime or two but time is undefeated.

our provider decided not in inform us of a system update....so there i am plugging away wondering why my deal won't go through.  i finally call and they tell us of the update.  i ask them why didn't they let us know and of course they pass the buck to the other provider that provides them....lol

I thought about putting this in the Weight Loss Thread and then maybe the Got Problems Thread, but after a recent visit with my doctor I came to the conclusion that our quality of life can depend on which doctor we see and and what they say about our individual health.  BTW, do you know what they call a doctor that graduated with a C? ..... Answer:  Doctor.

Conflicting Advice from Doctors

Eat 5 small meals per day and run… but also, eat only breakfast and dinner and walk.

Eat lots of protein and lift and don’t even do any cardio, it’s bad for your joints… but don’t eat too much protein, it’s hurting your kidneys.

Make sure you’re sleeping a lot, but don’t be sedentary… but don’t be too active, it’s bad for your blood pressure.

Make sure you replace all your lost salt,…but never eat too much sodium.

It’s easy, just eat vegetables... don’t eat potatoes though or corn.

Fruit is obviously good for you… but also it’s all sugar and it’s bad for you.

Sugar, I forgot to mention, is a vital source of quick burning carbohydrates that your brain needs to survive… you should avoid it at all costs.

Drink water… but don’t over hydrate.

Never starve yourself unless you’re calling it “intermittent fasting” and then it’s OK to starve yourself a little bit.

Being vegan is obviously the healthiest lifestyle… and also, no it’s not.

Fish is obviously super good for you… and it’s full of mercury and killing you.

Get some sun every day for Vitamin D… and skin cancer.

This morning I was planning to place the order.  Now, I’m thinking maybe I should get through SuperSpeed Level 5, and then move to the Stack.  Tomorrow, who knows what the plan will be…

Golf pants mini rant. I’m looking for new golf pants for the start of the season. Everything is slim fit, designed for guys 6’ 1” 180 lbs. Where I golf, I don’t see a lot of those kind of guys. I’m 6’ and way back when I weighed 195, I was never slim fit. And then the prices! Ok, back to your regularly scheduled golf content.

I always had good luck with finding pants at PGA Superstore under the PGA Tour brand. Not slim fit either. They are also priced right. Then I hit up Ross or Marshall's and sometimes find Nike or UnderArmour hidden in the racks. I probably pay under $30.

Was at the outdoor show in Harrisburg today and boom $200 spent on Sunglasses which I wasn’t planning on doing but they come with 3 sets of lenses, a hard case, and are American made so honestly cheaper than if I bought Oakleys.

My wife is a amateur artist/painter mostly watercolor last 8 years.  We did a couple trips to Van Gogh showings in Philly & New York and it is an experience.

No problem Russ. I’m glad to provide any information that may help anyone or just answer any questions in general about outings or golf course operations.  
 

It’s a very pleasant escape from all the members of Maryland Golf FB page that do nothing but complain about pricing, course policies snd each other in general.  Ha
