You’re starting to like this FL weather. A couple of low Temp days next week then back to normal.

This weather is starting to remind me of when I was in the Navy, stationed in San Diego.  Every morning for 5 months it was a little cool in the morning then blue skies high 70's low 80's during the day. The weather was actually a bit boring.

On the other hand it sure beats 30*, high winds and snow 😬

Yes San Diego was a getting dressed nightmare. “Bundle up” (and I use that as a San Diego bundle up) in the morning. Make sure you have layers because it’s shorts and T-shirt when ya get off the ship 😂.

I actually was not a huge fan of the dry heat all the time, I like my summers humid 😂

The warm wet weather is coming in for the next couple of days with highs in the 50s both days, before settling back to normal as we move into December. This sun is always the worst, in just a couple weeks will be at the earliest sun set of 4:09, never any fun.

Thought it might be fun to share some fun weather info for those who are interested. This morning I got thinking with winter coming about the changes this brings, as the jet stream powers up. The question then is why does the jet stream here by NH and in the "mid-latitudes"  get going so much more in the winter. This is because the jet stream in this part of the world is most influenced by the different temperatures. Basically, because it is 80 in Florida and 10 here in NH provides the starting energy of the jet stream. Hope people enjoy this and happy to share more, finally put that degree to good use.

I always thought it was some magic that Santa performed so he could turbo charge his sleigh without killing the reindeer and get all that traveling done in one night!  😁

Is there a jet stream in the southern hemisphere that powers up in their winter months of the June / July time frame?

Indeed there is, though it s a bit different given the lack of land down there, its mostly ocean, just the tip of Africa, South America, and then Australia in the way. There is also a tropical Jet Stream closer to the equator, this set up what they call the 3 cell system in our atmosphere, but this one is cause mostly by the earths rotation, not temperature differences.

Climate change may be affecting the jet stream

Well December is here tomorrow and with it comes the cold weather.  It's been in the 40's and low 50's with sun the last couple of weeks, but now we have sunny, mostly sunny and partly cloudy days  into next week.  That means it gets cold at night; low 20's with little cloud cover to hold in the heat, and mid-30's for high temps.  Bad for golf!!  If it stayed below freezing, we could play, but when it warms up above freezing from the sun, the grass will suffer when we play on it.

We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”

What the heck. I was playing golf for the past three days in the 50's to low 60's. I just let the dog out one last time for the night and there is 2" of snow. It wasnt there at 7:00. It doesn't snow here until mid January.  Most years it barely snows at all. Doesn't the big guy up there know i will have some balls coming my way to test?

LOL.  We hardly ever get any snow that last very long;  too dry, too cold.  Two years ago we got 2 feet and it didn't go away for 6 weeks.  My longest golf withdrawal period that was equaled this year by COVID with our shutdown.

I walked out of the house this morning to the sight of a dusting of snow on the cars. We had flurries yesterday and I ran in to some this morning heading into work. Other than that, it's 33 degrees with a forecasted low of 20 in the morning.
