The last of the four event Florida swing for the 2021 season.  The first three have been incredible events. Sungjae Im defends his first ever tour win. Fans are slowly coming back and spring is on the way... yee-haw!!   Who's got your win, place, and show positions?

Yup I played it about 5 years ago and I couldn’t believe it’s a regular tour course. And man it’s worse without the tour there because at least the fans and grandstands hide the houses.

Save your $300 and go play North Palm Beach, Abacoa and Palm Beach Par 3...all 3 for the same as it would cost for PGA National Champ

Interesting that Lee is doing this solo...as it pertains to yardages, club selection, reads, etc.  They were commenting on how that is how it was in the "old days".  Probably a good thing that Helen is not a serious golfer and try's to assume this role... that could put a strain on a relationship.

I believe Berger will be the highest ranked player in the field, so the odds are in his favor.  As for Rickie, I just don't know.  He and Jordan seemed to have traded places.

Are we talking about the same track?  Looking at the website, it sure looks nice.  Add in their descriptions; "PGA's Toughest Course", "Unquestionably one of the best courses in Florida" and it sounds like a brute. Plus, I see they have 5 courses on site; The Champion, The Palmer, The Fazio, The Squire, and The Estates.

Great to get perspective from our forum spies on stuff like this.  Yours and @bens197review places this one in my skip it column - though it would be rare I'd opt to play courses like this anyway.  I prefer to play equally challenging courses (at least by rating/slope) that are not part of the tour circuit... better value IMO.

Oh it’s tough. That doesn’t make it a good course though. Long, Lots of water and the wind can wreak havoc. But the design is flat and the holes are forgettable. 
 

I went there excited to play a pga tour course and left there with very little memories.  Just an uninspiring course

@jlukespretty much hit the nail on the head. 
 

Difficult and fun for me, that would be Bethpage Black. Difficult and frustratingly unimpressive, PGA Champ. 
 

The PGA has always struggled with this event. Mirasol was a shakeup that didn’t really change much for attracting top names.  Let’s be honest, even if they thought PGA National could lure top guys its still a tough draw when you’re hitting on deck for Bay Hill and The Players.

At this rate he may start losing his commercial $$. I'm a big fan of his and hope he can mount a comeback - but it'll take time to restore his confidence.

Worst part is hes been so bad they dont even give his round any airtime that I've been able to see. Cant even feel for the guy because of unlucky breaks or close misses. Hes just throwing up clunkers and you know he is feeling the heat.

Yes, Rickie is "Lost".  I wish he'd snap out of it, hopefully faster than Spieth did.  Jordan is much better, but he still doesn't have good weekends, which he needs to win.  I'll start picking him again when he puts two low rounds together on the weekend, even if he doesn't win.

Describing that course as one of the top courses in Florida is laughable. It’s tough, unfairly so, but that’s it. Terrible value -

Heck my club’s course is better, more fair, more interesting - 7,299 from the tips, it’s hosted tour events in the past.

Current leader Matt Jones at -5 thru 11.  Looking like a few of the early groups are getting the better of the course, but quite a few over par.

My wife and I have played PGA National and all the resort courses (twice) back in the THP outing days. The National was tough, and the Bear Trap would beat ya like a drum when the wind was howling. I was disappointed with the course condition when we were there.  You expect more out of a regular tour stop. 

@fixyurdivot  It was during a very rainy period at beginning of the year so obviously that contributed to bare/muddy lies etc. and not in prime tournament condition. It looks great on tv for this week's tournament!
