In other news, while it won't effect the forum or what I am doing here I have taken on an additional role with MyGolfSpy working with our Forum staff to get more content on the main site. You will see a lot more of the forum staff writing and having articles published and promoted there. We will post these and what we ask of you is if and when possible show the guys some love and make a few comments, if you like the article share it around! These guys work hard on them and have been doing some great work behind the scenes. 

We of course will all still be on the forum doing our thing, but we hope to see a lot more growth in 2024 and this is part of it. 

On a personal note I am thrilled to work more with the HQ team and expand my role within MyGolfSpy as this is a company and brand I believe in. I always had the goal of expanding my role, but honestly thought it would kinda be capped with directing for forum. I am thrilled with where the forum is and where we are going to be. We have made a ton of progress and I will make sure that continues (along with the staff), however I am excited to be more involved with HQ, help get more content out to everyone in the golfing world and see where this can take me! 

Finally and maybe most important for me is the new role or expanded responsibility means I can spend more time at home. At the end of this season I am dropping my World Curling position making ice for events around the world and focusing on being home more with family and enjoying the time seeing my kids grow up and hopefully golfing!

Stay tuned as 2024 will be one to remember!

HEARTY congratulation Jamie as well as the rest of the team. I truly appreciate the amount of time and effort it takes to keep the gears turning and come up with fresh new ideas and you've done a terrific job.

Morning everyone! It’s an icy and cold day in Oklahoma. My wife (who works at the university) is off today with campus closed, but I work remote so days off because of bad weather aren’t a thing… good weather maybe lol. 
 

spending today getting ahead on some work with the hopes of getting on the course tomorrow and Friday!

Good morning spies. Rain coming over from Los Angeles is going to wait until tonight to get here so we will tee it up around noon. But, it rain pretty much all day yesterday so the course will be on cart path only. The older guys who hobble from their cart to the ball wont be there today. Too much walking. I walk so cart path only is a non issue.

I never watch golf on TV.   But, I did watch the final 4 holes in Dunlap's win. That was fun.

Good morning, Spies!  Everything is covered in a sheet ice here.  When I took my wife to work, I had to put my truck in 4x4 just to make the turn out of our driveway.

My feet were poorly designed by a committee. Left foot is a 9 and right foot is a 10.5 and both are EEE. Brooks comes in extra wide. They also have a program where they sell to mismatched feet. For an additional $30 I was able to get my shoes to match my mismatched feet. It was worth the investment to me for my running shoes. I also discovered that Footjoy’s custom shoe program will sell “mismatched” sizes as well.

Our boston terrier just slid all the away across our patio on his back after his run back to the house after his morning duties. Luckily, he's fine. I had a feeling it was going to happen, I tried to run out and get him to slow down before he go to the patio, but he wasn't listening...

Working on my cuppa and cold but sunny day in CNY. Icy ground will have me doing running on the treadmill today. Monday is speed work runs, which is the day my coach tries to “kill” me. I’m not giving her workout any icy assistance.

Sorry to see “Wide Right” has bitten Buffalo again.

whoa... I have a little dog (bichon freis mix) and I'm amazed he hasn't slipped and fallen yet. Glad to hear your pup is okay.... probably had to do with the fact it's a "Boston" terrier!

Back to reality in cold Chicago after a nice weekend in the sunshine state. Happy to be home and getting to sleep in my own bed, but that Seasonal Affective Disorder is real. Or maybe that's just because my Bills lost AGAIN to the Chiefs in the playoffs... hard to say what's driving the S.A.D. today...

Was glad to catch the end of the AmEx tournament yesterday before my flight. Nick Dunlop is the real deal and it was an impressive showing to see him hold off Sam Burns and others trying to make a charge. I have a feeling we'll be seeing a lot more from him in the future.

Hoping for an easy week as I slip back into the old routine. Simulator booked for an after-work session. Might be many months before I get out to a real course again but we'll keep the swing loose in the meantime.

Good morning all! it has been wicked here this past couples weeks. This week seems to be back to normal or atleast im praying for that. Looks like i may end up getting to go into work tomorrow, really really want to (I can not believe i said that), but for today we telework and watch my daughter all at the same time. This is a challenging thing because this one year old is already living the terrible twos lol Here is to a long day and to blessed week. Times like this make me realize how blessed I really am. Anyway hit em striaght, and BE THE BLESSING!!!

Morning Spy Fam,

Had a great weekend!  Tournament bowling with my son yesterday was a blast and we put some big scores in (fingers crossed we placed), playing some Xbox and watching football & golf! I also polished off that bottle of Tuscan Red wine. Can't wait to see these warmer temps later in the week for SW Ohio. Regardless of the rain. Just have to find a place to go smack the white orbs around.

I hope everyone's Monday goes well...for a Monday anyways. In the meantime, here is a little humor for ya

Good morning all! Cold, dreary and has been pouring rain most of the morning, but it is not freezing!! Still cold though. Rain forecast with rising temps every day this week with exception of a dry Thursday so keeping fingers crossed for resuming league play this week.

Hope your wife is feeling better @StrokerAce and she enjoyed herself up to the point of crash and burn.

Be careful and don't think out loud @Kenny B as it could lead to additional medical requirements...

Good afternoon, Spies! On the road and working hard, so didn't get to check the thread until after noon. It was 21 degrees at the hotel this morning, but we're looking at a warming trend sufficient that I might get to spend my day off Wednesday on the course (like at Pinehurst). Keeping my fingers crossed on that one. 

Sorry my Packers couldn't hold on at San Fran, but I think J-Love will have several more chances to go deep in the playoffs. At this point I'm pulling for the Lions.

My club membership packet is on the way from Scotland, so I spent last night online working on an itinerary for a July trip to play at my "home" club. Itineraries are easy if you have money to burn; since I don't, I'm looking for ways to do it on the cheap. Like Expedia quoted me a package price for air, hotel and car, but I can find places closer to the course and cheaper than what Expedia offered.

Believe me I saw it way too many times over the course of my working days .. and still hear the same stories from others, including my wife who's a teacher and not super techy and still cannot believe what the administrators buy that they think is great and gonna help...

My son is like that, only his are size 14 and 16 (big boy). He tried the Brooks thing for mismatched feet but now is wearing Zebas, both size 16. I just ordered him another pair as a late Christmas present (I actually got him another brand on time for Santa, but he didn't like them and wanted to go back to Zeba, so Dad obliged). Regardless of width, it's hard to find size 16 shoes with removable insoles (he has custom soles).

Do you have to register with their hcp system over there and then get verified while there as well?

Sorta. They have my GHIN 'cap (sent him my handicap card along with my application for club membership). The club secretary will create a Scottish Golf membership for me so that my HI will show as a member of Fortrose. Of course, since I'll be doing most of my score posting here, I'll have to send him updates from GHIN so he can plug it into their system. The Scottish Golf membership may be part of the packet that is headed my way. However, like GHIN, Scottish Golf also has an app so presumably I can post all scores from here as well. Maybe.

I only asked, because I've read that to play other courses across the UK you have to be registered/ made official , with their system

Well, I registered for the tournament at Dornoch in October using only my GHIN handicap, although I had to keep sending her updates as it changed through the summer. And the fine folks at the Old Course were more than happy to accept my GHIN 'cap (at 7:31 a.m. after I waited up all night) as proof that I wasn't a total hacker. Anyway, if there are any courses that won't take my furrin handicap, Scottish Golf membership will take care of that.

Apparently I also get a membership to BRS Golf, which seems to be part of the NBC/GolfPass network, since there is an NBC Peacock on the login page. The BRS Golf website is how I will book tee times and enter tournaments as a member; BRS also handles their visitor bookings, but no login is required.

It's a nice morning here as I am sitting in my car drinking my coffee and catching up on the forum.

@StrokerAce I hope your wife is feeling better today after her ice skating accident yesterday. It's scary when someone hits their head and I'm hoping for a speedy recovery.

I got to hit some shots into the net yesterday for the Mevo test but quit after shanking two balls into my neighbor's yard. It's been a while since they showed up and they just happened to at the worst time.
