Good morning MGSpies from it feels like a summer morning but since it is weather it is like golf - all lies! - on a dark Wednesday in WNY with the joy of network connection issues making the boot-up this morning feel like getting a double par on one hole  Hot coffee still upstairs soon to be retrieved (yes can "function" before it) and golf yesterday in sunshine and warmth was a great day out, tee time my myself this afternoon so will see who I get to play with today  hope golf is a part of your day too!

Good morning Spies!  Late start for me this morning after a late night indoor soccer game.  We only had one sub so I'm going to feel it today. 

Have some work to do this morning and hoping to at least get out to the range this afternoon.

Was gonna golf this afternoon with a friend who's a PT but ironically had a tight, sore back... But at least it's from a lot of windsurfing plus a long drive home after!

Gonna go practice some anyway, and maybe see if there's an opening for a single. Need more on course time to work on my mental game .. absolutely no reason why but I still seem to get nervous, self conscious, idunnowhat so have to get those chill ommms going..!

70 degrees & cloudy Central Florida morning. No rain today, just cloudy.  No golf today either, busy work day.  Finishing 1st cup of coffee.

Good Morning All, back to work early today after a week in Biloxi and then New Orleans.  Took an extra day off to play 18 yesterday.

Rain this morning, get caught up on my emails, then final pre construction meeting before they break ground on the new house!

Happy hump day, spies! Still riding high after my combined hole score of 81 (41 on Monday & 40 yesterday). It's great to see the work I've put in to my game this year come to fruition towards the end of the season. While I am not going to expect to always shoot in the low 80s, it's just a good feeling to know that I am capable of doing so. The score also brought my handicap down to 16.1 which achieves my 2023 season goal of getting below a 20 hdcp. I was targeting 15 for my 2024 goal, so will be making some adjustments to that and thinking of the 12-13 range. 

Going to get on the range today at lunch to test out my newly received Mevo and see how well it works outdoors before I am limited to indoor only use and looking forward to that!

Lastly, have been trying to sell a HZRDUS Smoke Blue RDX PVD shaft for a good couple months now and have had no luck up until last night. I found someone in the Chicago area who agreed to do a trade with me for a Ventus TR Blue 6R shaft! I do play a stiff flex shaft, but know that the TR plays stiffer in the handle section than the standard Ventus Velocore. I am going to give it a try and if it doesn't work out, will look to move that for a 6S. Felt like it was a deal worth making!

So played a 4 man scramble with my dad (whos birthday it was), coworker and his dad.

Sunset was 6:12!.... so best ball is the only way to get through 9 holes as late in the day as we need to play post work.

Was super relaxing, and quite enjoyed it.

Plus I had an absolute MONSTER (for me) of a drive.  A very respectable 268yds (with a prov1).  Those are always fun.  We wont speak of the 10yd tee shot into water I had on number 1. 

Did you know its easier to hit the ball on a tee if you uh... dont look up before you actually hit it.  Bold of me I know.

I think ive topped out the distance I can get with a softer ball my perennial favorite RX.

As much as I dont like how hard they feel, I just cant argue with the distance I can get off the tee.  Leaving myself under 100yd to a green... just seems silly to pass up for a "feel" off the face.

 

Ill hopefully still be hitting a simulator sunday so I can REALLy finally get some actual dry data on what these balls do for my swing.  Will I notice anything? who knows.

By the end of the season my swing speed has got to be higher than the beginning of the year.  Now... what would more speed do for me?  Swing trainer time over the winter?  Food for thought.

Good morning! I was able to take advantage of the nice weather yesterday and get out for a quick 9 holes after work. I was very pleased with my putting and had 5 putts between 12-20 feet lip out. I was very disappointed with my chipping as it left me a lot of putts 12-20 feet! haha! I did chip in on the last, so I left the course on a positive note. 

Today's weather is nice, but rainy and it's going to be a grind day at work.

Happy Hump Day Spies,

One cup down then took the old pupper for a walk. He chose a short one today after a 3 mile walk yesterday. Cuppa 2 going down now. My morning 9 yesterday started out well, a par on the first hole. The wheels fell off the bus shortly after. But it was enjoyable all the same. A morning run is on the agenda for today and then mow the lawn this afternoon.

Decent weather today and hoping to get to the range once I get my car back from service. Stuck here at home/work until then. Supposed to be nice this weekend so hoping for a round. Have a wonderful week!

Enjoy the Mevo. I have the same one. When you take it to the range align your ball with the range ball line or the logo on the ball parallel to the ground. It pick up the spin better. This way you don’t have to waste the little metallic stickers. Also you have two options you can go to a craft store and get sheets of the small stars that teachers would put on papers for the elementary school kids. These work and are cheap. I didn’t mind sending them down range. The other option is a silver metallic sharpie. It reflects enough to get good readings. Save the good stickers that came with the unit for your indoor work.

Congrats on your low round and lowering your handicap.

Thanks for the advice, Tom! I know it states to align the sticker away from the unit when indoors, so for using the range ball lines, should I line those up facing away as well?

I always did but I'm not sure if it makes a difference or not. I never really checked.

Thanks Jason, I chose the latest time, which was noon, so it would be warmer, about 50 degrees projected, and I should be able to spend as much time as needed. Really interested to see what may develop, as I previously tested and played the Titleist 100S models along with the Mizuno Pro 223's before the Mizuno irons won out then.

I should be able to provide an update late in the afternoon on Saturday with the results and findings.

Well now, welcome to Thursday my fellow spies. Mid 70’s working its way to the high 80’s. Real early start for me today. Hope the Louisiana gentleman made the coffee again today. We might get some of that wet stuff that is all the rage in other parts of the country. 
  Work is work, the young ones usually are pretty good at putting in the effort, the outcome can at times be less than what one would like. I maybe the “ old man “ with the experience, but I was worse than pathetic starting out. As I get older the issues of age keep manifesting themselves. Hard, dang hard keeping up with who I am, let alone keeping up with the young ones out here. 
 

Thursday is just a Friday that got ahead of itself … Take care my friends.
