Picked up a set of Project X LS shafts. After doing a mizuno fitting and going back a few times to demo the set up I loved the shafts but $1200 for a new set of sticks is out of the question right now. Found these for relatively cheap and although they were labeled pulls, they are uncut and never had a ferrule put on them. Throw in the labor costs and it’s about 1/4 of the price of the new clubs. Found some cheap wedge shafts on Facebook marketplace so there isn’t a big weight difference between iron and wedges

I found a TSR1 5-wood (18º) on Facebook marketplace last night. Shot the guy a DM and after a little bargaining I was able to talk him down to a price I was happy with. 

The club looks practically brand new in the pictures and has a Tensei blue stiff shaft on it. Going to keep it around to swap with my 2-iron depending on course and weather conditions.

I really love my TSR2 3-wood so I think it'll be great to have these two together in the bag.

I thought the same thing. It didn't say brand new in the description so either they never hit it or took extremely good care of it

I feel like not many amateurs have them in the bag nowadays. I used to be heavily team hybrid, but I really like the look of a nice fairway wood at address

I tried out the new TM with the kai'li blue 70s and was able to work the ball either direction and hit a straight shot. Easier to hit than the 3w in my opinion.

Have a 3 and 5 wood in my bag. First time having a 5 wood and I love it. I’ve debated on 7 wood to replace my hybrid for a while now

Probably my favorite club to hit since I was 12. I’ve had a Cobra Fspeed in the bag since 05-06. Upgraded to a Stealth 2 this winter but I’m told I have to wait until June for B-Day/Fathers Day lol.

Gearing up for golf season, I've been on a buying spree lately. Can't remember what I may have posted but as it comes in I'm going to snap some pictures and update here! 

First up, I paid for this a while back but it finally made it to me recently! Thursday tickets to The Masters! My third trip to the hallowed grounds with the first two being for Wednesday practice rounds and the Par 3 Tournament. A tournament round will be a first and I'm taking my nephew who turns 10 the day before. Every time I've gone I've thought it was my last time ever and I'm going to treat this one the same way. Can't wait!

Scored these Sub 70 699pro V2 irons on eBay for $280. Reshafted with some Nippon 950 gh neo shafts bent em 2⁰ flat. Couldn't be happier!

I recently picked up these awesome spikeless Under Armour shoes on sale for about $100 Canadian (i.e., $75 US).  Some of the courses here in the Toronto area opened this weekend, but many will still wait another 1-2 weeks as it will be cold and wet this week, with nicer spring weather coming next week.

Can't wait to try these out.  I won't wear them until at least May when conditions warm up and the courses dry out.  They will hopefully be my "go to" summer shoes when course conditions are dry.

My wife and I were out of town golfing and found our glove size at the course pro shop in a bargain basket at $5 each ... we bought 20 gloves which we figured saved us between $200-$300 over the next couple of years.  Love those kind of deals!

decided that I wanted a black shaft on my new-to-me putter... grabbed some heat shrink tubing from amazon; going to see how this goes

 

have you ever wanted a new putter grip but weren't sure which one to get? not sure why but it's really hard to test putter grips; I try to get to a place that has a lot of used because people put all kinds of crazy grips on their clubs! I didn't have much success but figured this experiment from amazon won't be too expensive... and who knows, it might actually work!

NOS Driver and Fairway

Cobra LTDx Driver with stiff HZRDUS Smoke Blue RDX 60 gr
Cobra LTDx 3w with stiff HZRDUS Smoke Green IM10 60 gr

Tried the new crop of drivers last year but did not find anything that was better than my 2021 PXG 0211 with HZRDUS stiff Smoke Yellow 60 gr.  Didn't like the feel and didn't hit them any better.  To be fair, I was working through a swing change and trying to get to positive impact angle, but no advantage.

Tried this year's crop but did not find any great advantage in distance or dispersion.  Best I found was the new Ping 430 10Kwith HZRDUS Smoke Red regular.  Didn't love it and the distance wasn't enough to justify $600.

Didn't love the Smoke Yellow as it was too boardy for me.   Swing speed 105 but very smooth acceleration.  Tried the Jupiter shaft for a softer feeling stiff shaft with no joy.  Wanted to try a Smoke Red or Smoke Blue in the PXG to see if the shaft would be an improvement.  Then the 2022 LTDx models went on sale and dropped a couple of times.  I wanted a new fairway to replace an older Cobra BioCell+ 5w, so I grabbed the LTDx 3w after looking at reviews from 2022.  Hit it well and loved the feel and sound of the head.  I also liked the shaft better than the older ProjectX in the BioCell+.  In for a penny, in for a pound.  

Then I saw that the New Old Stock 2022 LTDx driver with the Smoke Blue RDX shaft was less than the price of the same shaft as a replacement to try in the PXG 0211.  So I got the new Cobra driver.  Launch, spin, speed, distance on par with the new Ping 430 10K, for $250.  And I can feel the shaft working without having to go to a regular flex driver shaft.

Went for a driver fitting yesterday putting my gamer up against the Titleist TSr2 9°, Callaway AI Smoke Max, AI Smoke Triple Diamond, TM QI10, Mizuno ST-G and Cobra Darkspeed X.

I tried the Titleist because my TSr2 is an 11° and with my swing change I need a lower loft lower spin driver.

At the end of the day it came down to the TSr2 9° with a Tensi shaft, ST-G with the Hulk shaft and the Cobra Darkspeed Max 9° with UST LIN-Q M40X 7F4.

The Darkspeed X was the winner because of dispersion.

Out the door with trad-ins and including fitting fee, it cost me $210.



I also bought a couple of Lamkin ST+ Hybrid grips and this new stand bag in Australian green and Gold.

I’m Monkey and I’m an addict. I’ve been clean for the last 3 days but in the month before that I bought a MGS Ghost bag, a Greyson quarter zip top, a Ping G430 Max driver and a Cobra LTDx Max 3 wood that arrived today  

This was bought to replace my MavRik 3 wood as I always go right with it. Got a good deal on this, I thought. It’s brand new, was still in the shrink wrap and was £168

Just need to get out with it now. 
Oh, and on the addict note, I’m waiting on the MGS Runner putter to arrive and test
