How many rounds do you manage using the same ball?

Depends on scuffs, but I typically don’t use the same ball for more than one round.

I always put a new ball into play starting a round. Many times, after the round, it goes back into the sleeve for the next round. Unless scuffed, then it goes to the shag bag. I lose enough to keep Titleist happy!

I never start a round with a new ball.  If I do, I will lose it on the first tee shot.  This is especially true if it's an expensive ball and my preferred ball is pricey.  Off the first tee, I need a ball that has experience finding the fairway.  I'll put a new ball into play after the 2nd or 3rd hole, when my driver has calmed down and can help a new ball stay in play.  That being said, I will play a ball until it is scuffed or dead.  So as long as I don't pull a new ball on the first tee, a ball will last for 4 to 6 rounds before I pass it on to my kids.  They are 10 and 11 years old and are experts at releasing balls into the wild (thank God for Kirkland balls...).

I used the Titleist Pro V1 left dot from the ball test last year for 27 holes before the damage became to much.  I have played a Srixon Z-star divide for 57 holes just to see how durable it was.  Normally I will take a ball out of play after scuffing it with a full swing wedge.  I have played Pro V1's for the last couple years and rarely get more than 9 holes before a major scuff mark from a wedge takes it out of play for me.   That is why I have been testing the Srixon Z-star divide it seems to be more scuff resistant and play in the same windows I like.

If it doesn't have a scuff, it gets the nod until it scuffs, cuts or is lost. I have played some for quite a few rounds before they get put in the leaf rule bag.

I play a ball until I lose it, or it becomes scuffed. Usually can get 2-3 rounds out of a ball. I believe that a ball isn’t really compromised, until the cover is damaged. I play 2 different 9-hole leagues in the summer, on 2 different course.  I managed to play the same ball for a month. Now this combined would be 72 holes. But rare instance.

I’ll use the same ball until it’s too scuffed to use: I think the longest streak this year with one ball was 60 holes. Most balls eventually get hit to Narnia and never get “retired” to the shag bag.

About 3 on average. I typically change earlier if there is a scuff mark which one can easily feel as this affects ball flight.

I stay with my ball until it's lost or seems to underperform.  At the end of the round, it goes in my bag for another random day.

I generally get 3-4 rounds or more before changing balls unless I hit a cart path or other abrasive surface that scuffs the ball.

LOL! I'm lucky if I find the first ball I hit off the tee. The topic should be how many balls do you use in one round! My answer...2-5. I also quit marking my ball. If it goes thru a window, I don't want CSI tracking me down!!!

Been playing a Titleist Trufeel for 2 1/2 rounds. Had to take it out of play after hitting cart path twice on my drive. Played it out but after adding 2 mor3 bad scuffs I took it out. It already had several nominal scuffs but today the cart path one.

The ball I finished my round with yesterday now has 54 holes on it - last years MaxFli Tour. That’s completely unheard of for me, as I probably lose 1-2 per round normally, sometimes even more. It doesn’t have any scuffs or cuts but the finish is dull, so I’m not sure if I should keep playing it? I’ve had to redo my ball mark twice as it’s so faded after each 18 hole round. Silly thing to ponder over a $3 golf ball, I’ve never had this “problem…”

As some of you have already said - I can go a few rounds and not lose any and then drop 3 in the water - same round. Hopefully the ones in the water are the older ones.

I  can get three to 3 to 4 rounds out of the Vice Pro Soft ocnasionlly  I will 2 or three balls take swimming lessons of go on camping trips to the woods. I rarely take one out of play.

Assuming I make it through a round without losing a ball (it happens but not all the time), it's probably toast after 18. A tree here, cart path or rocks there, and maybe a bunker shot or two later...

I use a brand new ball out of the sleeve at the beginning of each round.  I will replace it if it gets scuffed as well, from say a cart path.
