Good Morning everyone!!  A lot cooler here today 40’s and low 50’s, but my wife showed me her Facebook post from last year when we had snow on the ground!  Not doing much today… a few exercises and a few swings in my hitting bay, maybe a walk later.

@Beach life welcome to the GMT. Haven't spent a whole lot of time in the Mitten, but had a very pleasant weekend at Traverse City, not too awfully far from you. And I have a Michigan medical license so it's always possible my work travels could take me in that direction at some point.

Snow…more snow…and yet more snow today here in Ottawa… ugh.  BUT… the Carl’s C-Series enclosure (8’ x 9’ viewable) has arrived!!!!!  Madly swapping office space with my wife so I can get the enclosure setup by the weekend!  The other bit of good news:  my MCS C6 Blue shaft for my Qi10Max driver is on the FedEx truck for delivery   It’s going to be a good day !

Where I grew up, the saying was "if you don't like the weather, wait five minutes." It's gone from 86 degrees and no clouds to thunderstorms to 50ish at the Casa in the last 42 hours. Even this far south, I can recall some white flakes in April, so ya never know.

Good morning! Work has been super busy and tiring yesterday and today. I worked until about 10PM last night and started at 6AM this morning. Hopefully we can get the issues resolved and back to some normalcy before tomorrow. Just when I thought I was having a bad day, I see the LAB DF3 testing opportunity. I don't think I'm going to apply to any testing opportunity as fast as I will to that one!

@Fongle - So sorry to hear about your Uncle and his C diagnosis. Terrible, terrible news. I will be praying for your family.

Hey! It is a little less than three hours for me. I live outside of Iowa City, Iowa, so it's a pretty straight shot on the interstate. I have been there once before and I absolutely loved the experience. Ver inviting and an awesome little shop. Even had a couple of beers with the Sub70 staff after my fitting. If you can go, I would definitely recommend it!

Welcome to the forum and the Good Morning Thread! Great that you got Arccos sensors working for you to help give you some on course data!

I often travel to Ludington for work and I've driven by Benona Shores GC a couple of times. Is it a public course that I could stop by and play sometime?

We played to our handicaps. I shot a 98 and my partner shot a 94 but we hammed and egged it well. So we broke 90 as a team with 89 and were given 11 strokes so had a net score of 78. That was my first handicapped event and I loved it! I’m hooked! I also didn’t know you handicap changed based on the course so my 18.1 was a 22 on that course from 6600 yards.
 

We met all of our goals for the most part. It was an absolute blast!  I wanna play more events now!

As of this week, your handicap can go up or down for the day/competition based on the course. If the course rating is 69ish but par is 71, for instance, your handicap for that day/round will generally be reduced by 1. But if the course rating is 74, your course handicap might go up 3-4 shots, as yours did. To further complicate things, they may only allow you to use a percentage of your course handicap in a specific competition. If they had said you can use only 80% of your course handicap, you might have been playing to a 17 that day.

From what I hear, the barstool classic events are the best in existence for handicapped competitions! They do a remarkable job!

Good morning fellow spies

It's always unfortunate to hear about the hardships that life can bring, just know that you all are in my thoughts. This is so much more bigger than anything golf and I thank you guys for being able to share with us what is going on. As the old saying goes "it takes a village", and we are here for you. My door is always open for a chat with an open ear.

 

Beyond that and much less importantly, tee time for me at 11am this morning. Will be giving my first full 18 hole par 72 a go, and I am hoping to shoot under 100. I am determined for it but not going to overthink it and manage my game how I know I can (the high desert winds will add an interesting factor).

Good luck! I would suggest giving yourself a break on the tees; play a little forward and it will make things more enjoyable. And help you finish in double digits.

Speaking of a break on the tees, I was having trouble sleeping the other night, foraged around YouTube for some golf videos and found one of Bryson DeChambeau and Paige Spiranac playing a scramble round at the course in the Bahamas where Tiger hosts the Hero World Challenge. But they were playing from the red tees. Goal from the reds was to break 50, which would have required four eagles. They had two eagles but one par (on a par 3) and shot 52. Basically Paige would tee off first, try to get one in the fairway (not always successfully) and then Bryson would nuke one. But Paige pretty much made all the putts.

That’s my motto , it’s easy to get overwhelmed with , technology, different swing thoughts , advice from everyone or articles related to golf . I started playing better within weeks based on what Arnold says . “ swing your swing “!

If it persists please go see a pulmonologist!!! I got hit with something bad last Fall .. a few visits to the Urgent Care didn't resolve it...

Finally went to the "real" doctor, as my in-house Dr. Mom calls it, and he put me on antibiotics and an inhaler and then it started clearing up! Still using an inhaler as a preventative against a recurrence....

 

@Fongle my sympathies  .. I lost my favorite Uncle way too early, also (heart). Spend what time with him you can... Several years later lost my favorite Auntie after she was forced to spend time with the Big C.

Thursday morning my fellow spies… May you all get what you need to do, done; so  to be able to join the Thursday Therapy Session on Golf (a.k.a. ) The Community Call. 
 Thanks to all for the good wishes and support. My medical issues and situation(s) pail in comparison to what so many of our fellow spies and their families are going through. Not being all that grownup about stuff, I am more than a little peeved that what I do at work an as an indentured servant to you-know-who is/will be monitored, whereas golf is definitely off limits. 
 The tiara wearing totalitarian told me that tonight she wanted to talk about the “ quality couple “ time  that she wants us to engage in. I felt the wallet get lighter as she spoke. She then told me to quit moping and go out and do something for the community as she doesn’t have any drudgery for me to do until after lunch. So in keeping with her highness’s edict; I believe I might consider doing this the rest of the morning

May those on the Community Call, post a quick Cliff’s Notes for those of us that will be towing the barge and hauling the bail for the Royal elite this afternoon.

What's going on in this picture? Is this your putting warm up? Do you just go in a circle from a certain distance and try and hit each one into the hold?

So far I like the Qi10 Max, it does what I expected in the forgiveness department and then some, but I have not fully committed to putting it in the bag until my final review is ready to be posted. I have a couple of tee times lined up in different weather conditions than I was playing in before, so that will definitely be a factor in my total thoughts. 

And thank you for the encouragement, I am excited to get out there today!

It was really a good competition, I was surprised how smoothly it was ran! 

 

It was Greg McElroy and his partner with a -7. As they say, the rich get richer lol

I have to credit the secretary of my club in Scotland for relaying that information on course handicap changes to all members, including me, with a Monday morning email blast; this stuff went into effect Monday on both sides of the Atlantic. I was able to confirm what he said at the USGA site and the Scottish Golf Association site. Since the club course in Scotland is a 69 rating and par 71, my course handicap over there will be reduced by a shot.

My meeting is over. I had hoped/expected that he would say our services will be very much needed in the upcoming year, but still relieved that he did in fact say that. I still have emotional scars from that three-hour period last April when I didn't know if I still had a job, right after I had signed a contract to move into the Casa.

Meanwhile, the cats at the Casa had a new toy this morning: A freshly killed adult rabbit, which one of our furbabies brought home last night. They're tossing it all over the floor of our sunroom

Once they said I get discounts at all done 2 courses, which is where I live, I was pretty sold. As well as Men’s night and pro shop discounts. In the middle of selling our rental property right now is the only thing holding me back
