Better scoring round than yesterday but I expect that when playing the home course.  Fairways are getting dry and running a mile.  Hardest adjustment was the green speeds after putting on flawless greens yesterday.

Doubled the easiest hole on the course with a block pushed mini and then birdied the hardest par 3.

Playing with the Bajamar Player's Club, it was a great day after the marine layer burned off. I just wish the golf was better. Starting on the third hole, I opened with a triple bogey. The next hole was a par 3 to which I shot a 6- another triple bogey. I was fighting the wind and my swing all day. The back nine, which goes down to their ocean holes, was better. Usually, I send at least a couple of balls into the briny deep. Not today!!! Nothing in the water for me. Whoo Hoo!! Although I only shot three shots better than the front nine, it felt like a victory. I did pick up closest to the pin honors for my shot on number 9. Whoop Whoop - Go me!!

Most frustrating 82 ever.  39/43 I was 4 strokes over my putting average for the day.  I just could not get a put to drop.  I was fine with the line, but never got the speed figured out.  It's been hot so the grounds crews have held off on mowing.  They were painfully slow and I wasted multiple birdie opportunities inside 10'.  I left at least 6 in the jaws today -- by jaws I mean on the lip 1/2 a roll short.... 🤷‍♂️  The kind that you're walking in that just stop.  Clearly the golf gods were displeased with me today.

On the plus side... I had a 36 putt day and still shot an 82.  😆 WTF is this game sometimes!

Putts were pretty good with a number of 1 putts including a long one on the first I was very chuffed with

Thanks. 2 birdies and 3 bogeys on the front but couldn’t get a birdie putt to drop on the back. Just three bogeys. Still, only 27 putts on the day. Short game was stellar. 3.5 strokes gained compared to a 0 handicap and 4.3 strokes gained with my putting compared to a 0 handicap. Alas, it was approach game which got the better of me losing 6.6 strokes to a 0 handicap.

A 9-hole for warm up to next week's shenanigans. Not bad, but not great.  Had a good start then kinda fell apart.  Hot and cold, but more cold overall.

Putting was in the dumps.  I'd say it was mostly because I found so much sand, but once I was on I was getting distance down pretty well.  The three putts were just poor execution of either being over confident or hitting too hard for these greens.

What a difference a day makes and golf is a funny game. Hit the driver poorly yesterday so made a change. Put my Titleist TSR 3 at 8 degrees with Hzard Blue shaft into play on a last minute decision. Hit 12 fairways and hammered the ball off the tee. Front nine was just sort of cruising and not hitting my irons that well. However, short game saved me. So, after 13 putts made the turn at 1 under. Then on 10 hit the worst iron of my life dead right. However, did just enough to hold it together till number 14. Drove the green and hit the pin to make eagle. Changed the entire day. Sat the time,I was plus 2 on the back. So, after going even on the back and 1 under made a bunch of good pars and birdied 18 to shoot 2 under. Blue tees, slope 123, rating 69.1. Overall 12 fairways, 11 greens and 28 putts. Saved the day! image.jpeg.2c18c0b151589df54c4770f35a96fb62.jpegPar 3 number 5. image.jpeg.ed4893606ae41c5df46e2cfd5a1bb229.jpegHit it close to make birdie.image.jpeg.866c6d85ecf92ee98068882dabc56ad6.jpegTee shot off the drivable number 14 which hit the pin. Played a morning 18 with @Wolfstrum (Or should we start calling you Mr. 3 Iron 😛 ). Was a beautiful morning and played from the Whites. Approach play was off today as I had a new takeaway feel I am ingraining from a lesson. I also hit several wedges with poor speed and lead to landing into 3 greenside bunkers. Way too many Double Bogies+ . Did hit a few good shots with driver and a great driver with the Caley Di (2nd one with it wasn't so great. Putting was decent, just left a few short and was burning the cup all round. Some wild life was out, including a pair of hawks on hole 2.

Thank you @Vegan_Golfer_PNW for the invite to play this morning. Forest Hills is a beautiful course.

This was my first time playing the course. Scored my first birdie of the year on a 115 yd par 3.  Two pars on 130 yd and 145 yd par 3s. I had 5 bad holes (triple bogey or worse).  All 5 were long holes 400+ yds.

Weird day. 7 fairways on the front but could not hit a second shot causing 3 penalties, but putted decent 16, and an 18' on 9 to par.est friend  Back 9 only 3 fairways but Irons came around. Maplegate is starting to show signs of neglect on greens and tee boxes with a steep pricetag. Might have played my last round ever there 😪. After a ho-hum start, I parred the long #2, par 5. Then a 7 on #3 hurt. But, what really hurt was my third shot hit 5' off the green and spun into the water...ouch! A par on #5 then a series of bogeys with a double thrown in, capped off the front nine. Four pars out of 9 holes on the back saved the day. Doubles on #10, 13, 18 hurt but I still beat my playing partners on the day. They struggled mightily. I can't say I was really sorry to see that, lol.

The photo is a better one of the flowering cactus. The cactus only has blooms for a couple of days a year. Being on the course and seeing it is really a treat.

My rounds have been variable this past month, seems like I can get a decent/good round in either before or after a blow up round.  Thankfully today’s round was on the better side.  The fog was so thick on the 1st 6 holes, visibility was about 100’.
the front and back were same score wise +3/+3.  Just one natural birdie today on number 7, 127 off the tee, 14 foot putt and a good roll.  I will attribute 2 bogies on the front to the fog, couldn’t see the pin so I went “safe” at front/middle of the green and neither worked out… best part of the round playing the par 3’s and par 5’s even.  More work to follow, trying to get back to consistent rounds. Some wild friends were out this morning…..

We played up a set of tees today because of the older guys. However, you still have to get the ball in the hole. I seem to have a recent trend. On the front 9, I hit very few greens (however if counting near greens the stats are better) and get away with great chips and putts. Make the turn and everything changes. On the back, I hit 7 greens and have a traditional round. Example today: hit 8 fairways, 12 greens (7 on the back) and 29 putts. I had only 13 putts on the front…,.Maybe I can put 2 sides together soon.

Play like a champion today!

New PB! As I put in the "what have you bought lately" thread, the biggest reason for this was due to a great putting day. 28 total putts, 8-1putts and no 3 putts. I have @rkj427 to thank for the new Jailbird!

Played a steady round yesterday. 39 and 40 using an old set of irons.

Hit 10 of 14 fairways using the AI Smoke Triple Diamond driver or 3 wood off the tees.

Hit 13 of 18 GIR's, and those missed were just off the edges left or right, distance control seemed better using the older irons.

35 putts with no 3 putts, but with slow green speeds here, I still have trouble hitting them hard enough to make it into the hole.

Had my lowest career round at this course last year and decided I would go for it again. Ended up besting that round by 1 stroke! Really need to create some comfort with my driver though, did not use it all round and it really could have helped me score a little better if I kept it in play.
