Glad to see another vote for the Tour-length!

I'm debating about a no fairway wood lineup. I think I could go with the 17 and 19 degree hybrids before transitioning to the SZ 5-iron at 21 degrees. I would definitely be interested in try a 5W though, to see if they are as easy to hit as everyone says.

I think I'm officially on team @edingc Right now I only play one fairway wood (3HL) and I play it once or twice per round MAYBE. I think I'd find a lot more mileage out of a 5 wood and hybrids. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

This year I moved to having a 52, 56, and 60 SM7 from my old 54 and 58 on the old Vokeys. I also still have the 50* AP2 Gap Wedge.

I’m thinking of still using this set up as the GW on the Forged Tec is 49 or even having it bent to 48. Then I’ll have 4* of change at the low end of the bag.

In previous years I would use the 58 for almost everything near the green with the occasional GW or 54 thrown in there. But I’m committed to playing better around the green and using the green to nestle shots up closer to the hole.

According to Arccos this year I’ve already used the 52* 22 times versus the 60* 24 times and the 56* 15 times. Last year that probably would have been 90% with the 58*.

What's wrong with only using a 58° around the green? I mean, the fact that I do it may have something to do with it being the only club with more loft than my 47° GW, but still...

A lot of studies have shown that low handicap players use the bump and run and such much more than going for the hero shot with the lob wedge.

It may have been an arccos or shot scope study.

There have already been a few shots around the green I know I did better with the 52 than I would have with the 60.

Also having the three wedges gives me multiple bounce options (f.08 s.10 and d.12 in my Vokeys) so if it’s a soggy lie I know my D won’t dig and if it’s tight I can nip it with the F. Being someone who can get a little too steep the D grind has been great for me.

I'm not sure I have any other option but I'm going that way unless during fitting it doesn't work well for me. I currently play 3 wedges 52, 56, 60 and all are 36" shafts so this will not be that big of a change. By the way a fellow named Tiger plays wedges of the same length shafts just different lofts!

Your review of the wedges definitely had my interest, followed by your thoughts on the long irons. The one length irons are really intriguing to me as I sometimes struggle with the different low points of traditional irons.

I have a Cobra OL 4 hybrid and its 21 *  - I started with a 3H and 4H last year, for me they went the same distance, so I kept the 4H and added a 5W to replace the 3H.

I LOVE the 4H.  Its one of my more reliable.  I have tried hybrids for years and could never figure out how to hit them, though I tried.  This, though, no fear.  Its a go to.  The same length as everything else, I feel better hitting down on it.  You couldn't get it out of my bag.

I got the 3 hybrid but only 9 holes under my belt. It’s a hair longer carry than my standard 2 hybrid but the 2 rolls out a lot more. Ordered the 4 today. I had the F8 one lengths and couldn’t hit the 5 iron at all. With the F9s it has been my favorite club. Swing speed around 82-84 with plenty of elevation and carries about 165-170. It makes me think I may not need the 4 hybrid.

Are the MIM wedge players going to be able to try out the new MIM Black wedges that were on the main site today?  I absolutely love my regular King Black wedges from last year and have zero thoughts about replacing them until I wear out the grooves.  Not sure I would ever want to go back to a non-black wedge.

Those are sexy looking.

My feeling on wedge colours is they should match what else is in your bag. If you have chrome irons, I would be more likely to do with a chrome wedge. But since most irons are badged, cavities with graphics etc. not many people are playing straight chrome irons anymore. Or at least, nobody I play with.

Right now, I'm waffling about bit. @B.Boston is out because, well, Boston (although the Red Sox were my AL team in the 80's and early 90's)

@daviddvm is certainly in the running because he had the nads to go one length.

@edingc is still in the running because we seem to have similar games (although he could seal it if he showed up for the Ohio Meet-up on June 28).

@Headhammer still has a chance because he seems like a quiet assassin.

@GB13 seems like likable kid and will likely get to play more golf than anybody else (but nowhere near what @fozcycle accomplished two years ago).

I am perfectly OK accepting bribes - Venmo and Paypal both work for me.

Let's hear your pitch, gentlemen!

Just looked it up and it's almost five hours to Pine Hills. I'd love to, but the wife might kill me if I tell her that I need to leave the house at 4 AM and won't be back until after dinner on a Sunday. Looks like a lot of fun and big group though!

I seriously can't wait to see who comes out on top of this.  Some of the smack talk has me cracking up already.  Good luck to all the competitors, my money is on @edingc . I mean how can you compete with a DiCaprio meme cheers-ing to second place?  He's got this in the bag.

Those black MIM wedges are sweeet.

I got a chance to swing the forged Tecs and speedzone woods today. I’ll be going with TL Speedzone for sure. I was happy to see my SuperSpeed enhanced swing on the GC quad hitting 108-109 frequently with a slightly tight swing.

I loved the feel of the forged Tecs. It looked like the 7 iron had a touch more offset than my AP2. It looked great next to the ball.

The bags look great too!

Lacassem would agree with you. Although I’m partial to the matte finish clubs.
