This is such a relatable analogy . We got to the hospital on our oldest son's due date, waited around all day for something to happen, and then they sent us home and we didn't go back for another 4 days!

Coming back to this thread now that I've read the MGS article about the Edel falling under new ownership. As a former Colorado School of Mines grad (which has a large partnership with Coors and CoorsTek in Golden, CO) I am even more interested in checking out what the company has to offer. Can't wait to hear how the testing goes and see for myself if they may be worth the pickup!

As a fellow graduate from CSM, I couldn't help but see the same note in the MGS article. I remember the Edel wedge test last year was very interesting as well. Hoping the irons are just as good.

I was just in Colorado and stayed very close to edel. I considered going there but didn’t have any time. I’m very interested in this test to hear some feedback on these.

Similar to our first. My wife was told to enjoy her last meal before the time on due date of our first. We ate and then waited around for a few hours until being told that some emergency situations were going to be priority and we would be notified when there was a spot available for us. 2 days later we went in to start everything. And then waited around for another 20+ hours after that because my daughter was uncooperative. 

That should have been one of the first warnings about her current attitude.

I can't wait to start seeing these irons in your hands. Hopefully you all won't go crazy waiting for them to arrive. I know I go full stalker when I have a package on the way. I'm checking the app every 5 minutes and tracking where they're at on the map. 

I don't remember if FedEx does it, but I know UPS has a follow the truck map and I'm like watching it progress on there. 

What I'm really looking forward to is you all getting them on the range and the course to see how well they perform.

And it gets really annoying when you see the UPS truck a street over and then a few minutes later you see it zoom past your house and not stop only to come back hours later with your package.   The waiting game is hard!

That's the worst! I've seen one go into the neighborhood down from me and come out and go back onto the main road. I was standing there, outside, watching it drive away.

So this showed up late Saturday evening ....

 

I was able to resist the temptation to tear the box open until I was able to dedicate the time to really go through everything thoroughly and take proper pics.  

The irons were packaged inside the Edel box which itself was very sturdy and padded very well to protect the clubs during shipping.  Inside the box my build sheet was right on top and listed out the heads I had ordered, the shaft I selected along with the swing weight and toe-center-heel weight configuration I had from my fitting. Also included in the box was a pouch which holds the allen key for adjusting the weights along with the registration card.

First thing I did was pull out the irons one by one and inspect each of them.  All 8 were immaculate and exactly as you'd expect when purchasing a set of brand new premium irons.  One thing I noticed right away that I hadn't really paid attention to in the fitting was the brushed finish Edel uses on these irons.  I actually prefer the look opposed to the traditional chrome you see on most irons and I hope it holds up well and hides the typical light scratches you get from normal play.  Fit & finish on these is very impressive and the BB&F ferrules are a nice touch. 

The weather has been nothing but rain the since the irons showed up so I haven't had a chance to get to the range with them yet but hope to tomorrow and I have a round scheduled for Friday, again weather permitting so I'll have more to post after the weekend!

I don't think they do anymore.  Nothing about it on their site, they may have stopped offering them when they came out with the SMS last year.  I think the popularity of one length clubs has kind of fallen off now that Bryson is out of the lime light

Those look so good @ChitownM2! I agree with you, those ferrules look so good on the Edel's. I hate you haven't been able to get out and hit them due to weather, but ain't that the way it always goes? I'm looking forward to hearing your first impressions of them.

I almost feel a little bad sharing these since most are still waiting on shipping.... but I just have to share these!

I got a nice delivery yesterday and after bringing the box inside I had to run to baseball and then had some work to do last night so I haven't gotten too much time to drool...

But calling these beautiful irons would be a gross understatement.  The full set is even better than I was expecting and everything about the packaging told me this is a premium product.

Wow they look great!!!!! Although I am preferring the black finish these days, the brushed look makes a great looking club. Is that a small grove on the bottom or is it an illusion from the light?

Tri-step milled sole.  Supposed to give you the benefits of a narrow sole while playing like a forgiving cavity back irons.
