Good morning Spies,

It’s a beautiful sunny morning in CNY. My morning cuppa is going down nicely. My wife had most of her stitches removed. Her doctor wanted to leave 2 in until Thursday but overall she was happy with the progress.
This morning will be my first time on the course for the 2024 season. And first round with my new driver.

@berkeleybob prayers for a speedy and full recovery for your wife.

@sirchunksalot glad to read that your sister is doing better. Prayers for this to continue.

Good morning All!!

Must say its been a week already but that's not a bad thing. Wife is sick and the newborn is being a newborn haha. But we are making it happen as we all have to do from time to time. Life wouldnt be fun unless it came with challenges right!

I am for the first time excited to see the masters and what comes with it. Really cant wait for the Par 3 tomm & Ill actually be going to a local course doing our own Par 3 things welcoming the Masters

Good morning fellow Spies! Nice hot cup of Earl Grey going down oh so smoothly this morning! Temps should be in the mid 70's here today, so looking to hopefully sneak out after work and get in 9... 

@Josh Parker and @jbern: Thanks for the incredible pictures! We had about 80% coverage here in our part of Maryland: used a welding helmet to view, pictures didn't come out at all. I got called Darth Vader a few times... I just couldn't pull off the breathing sounds as well! 

My son's dog finally cleared my practice mat last night and I was able to get in some driver practice: lesson this Friday. Couldn't wait until Saturday so I pushed it up to the earliest my pro had. I know it's only one day, but, the bug has bitten me hard! 

@berkeleybob best wishes to your wife for speedy and uneventful recovery!

Good day after the Solar Eclipse… Fairly certain “ Those People “ are still sitting in the dark somewhere.
   While the photos from @jbern and @Josh Parker are neat;  what Josh forgot to mention was that Amy the Amarillo Armadillo didn’t see her shadow; so Texas is in for 6 more weeks of high wind, rain, and drought. We are Texas; so we can do rain and drought at the same time. 
 @sirchunksalot that is great news about your sister, hope the recovery continues to go smoothly and fast. @GolfSpy_APH the first round of the new season or year is always exciting no matter the results, is it not? 
   The female CEO/CFO is to brief me in depth about the “ Special Couple “ time she wants use to engage in… Where are Zoom calls when you need them????  I am requesting that the Spending She, give me an estimate of the trip. Historically the real final cost will show that just like the federal government, there will be a strategically misplaced decimal in the final number. While it will inevitably cost more, a whole lot more, I will give the Mistress of Spin credit for out of the box thinking for add ons for these ideas of her’s. 
  This Tuesday, may all of you bask in the success that you are the reason for.

Good Tuesday morning, fellow golfers!  A chance of rain this morning, but I am hoping to play later in the day.  My irons and putter didn't play nice yesterday, so I am hoping for a better round.

It’s been a difficult week or so. My wife became ill with something that affected all of her joints at once painfully. Sleeping became a nightmare. Blood tests came up negative, and our best hope is that it’s from a virus, possibly Parvovirus B19—one of the grandkids had it recently—and her condition is temporary. I might have caught it as well, but my symptoms lasted for a day. For women, it can last for weeks.

Oh, the inequity. 

On a brighter note, the sun came out over the weekend, and our youthful apple trees waking up.

Good morning everyone! I hope your day is going better than mine is. I’m currently stranded on the side of the road after my car died while in traffic. Tow should be here in approximately 90 minutes. I was able to pull over, but I’m right before a highway on ramp, so idiots keep flying up behind me in the breakdown lane trying to sneak onto the ramp and having to slam on the brakes. I’m standing outside the car to try and give people a warning so my car doesn’t get slammed into.

Good morning! Pretty low key day today. Work, then golf practice, then workout, then sleep. Can't complain about that. Coffee is flowing this morning and the vibes are high!

Good morning Spies! March Madness and Eclipse Madness both over now. Sounds from old friends like it was a bit crazy around my old stomping grounds in western Arkansas, which was smackdab under the totality. I saw a map that just about every Airbnb under the path of totality (which should be an alt-rock band name, I think) was booked yesterday. I paid a lot more attention to Eclipse Madness than the other one though. Maybe next year the hoops will be worth my attention.

Thanks man, I appreciate it. I’m in a tough spot, between an on-ramp, the entrance to a park-and-ride lot, and the angle of the sun right now making it difficult for drivers to see my hazards, I’m just hopeful everything works out OK. And just as I’m typing this, another idiot just flew up in the breakdown lane and almost hit the car. Unbelievable.

That is a tough spot and yes people drive like crazy these days. Getting back to NH from VT for the eclipse there were some questionable decisions made drivers.

The eclipse although cloudy was pretty cool to see in person. Looks like some of you got some great photo's, thanks for sharing! My day is mostly filled with reporting work and obviously the Masters on the range coverage for the morning, Best week of the year!

Good morning, Spies!! Happy Second Monday!!

Hopefully everyone survived the apocalypse yesterday afternoon with their eclipse vaccine, eclipse mask, eclipse glasses, and national guard protecting you from those mean sun rays. I almost feel dumber after all the insanity around "protecting" ourselves from the eclipse. 

Anyway, another rainy morning in the 50's today. That'll be the theme of my mornings all week, sadly. But hope is in sight for 71 Sat, 77 Sun, and 79 Mon. Next Wednesday is a demo day here, so fingers crossed we get a good day.

Anyway, everyone have a super fantastic day!!

Good morning spies!

Another pretty nice day in Chicago as temps will be creeping up into the low 60s with some sun. Would be a nice day for some golf if I didn't have to work!

Was able to check-out the eclipse from our building rooftop yesterday. Was fairly underwhelming here as it was only 94% coverage and looked more like a hazy fog than darkness. A nice neighbor let me borrow their cardboard glasses to get a glimpse of the sliver of sun not covered by the moon. Shoutout to @Josh Parker and @jbern for the awesome pics!

Went to the simulator last night and felt really good about my swing. No tee times on the horizon with the Masters this weekend, but going to try and bottle this feeling up and take it with me the next time I tee it up.

@berkeleybob very sorry to hear about your wife; I hope she feels better soon!

Good morning spies and happy Tuesday! One day closer to round one of the Masters and I am continuing to agonize over my picks for the pool set up by @Golfspy_CG2. I change my lineup much too often, which is why I typically am a terrible DFS bettor .

Played my first 9 hole round of 2024 yesterday and carded a 49, which included nearly all full iron swings resulting in hosel rockets. So all in all, I'll take it lol. Off the tee was not penalizing and hit some solid drives to boot, plus had a couple great shots out of the fairway and rough with my COBRA King Tec hybrid. Man alive do I like that club. 60* wedge was also fantastic around the green, resulting in a couple tap in pars after missing GIRs. One I am particularly proud of was on the par 3 12th, where I badly thinned my gap wedge off the tee but thankfully didn't go full hosel smash and it stopped in the short grass in front of the green. Had about 50ish yards to the flag and pin was tucked to the back of the green behind a large crest in the middle. Hit it very, very well and was left with 5' to clean it up for par. Once I get rid of these full iron yips, I think low 40s for 9 are well within sight which has me very excited. No three puts and a total of 16 putts which I was also relatively pleased with.

Taking the boys out on the course at 4pm today after I pick them up from school and will just be playing along with them from the First Tee program tees that are on our course for junior golfers. This will give me some good opportunities to work in some full wedge swings, I'll be able to roll a few putts, and the focus will be on the boys having fun - which is what those rounds are all about.

I keep telling myself we are just making sure she doesnt get sick when in k-12th grades because her immunity should be built up by then.  hope yall have a great day! Top of the pot spies!   I say that but in truth it seems more like bottom of the pot for many on this thread.  We are early risers (usually NLT 0600) and many have already posted here.  Lot's of east coast forum members.  Well, summer looks to be poking it's nose under the tent as we're forecast to see our first 90F temps this year.  Time to break out the 40 oz thermos and the packs of electrolytes .

My wife and I and her BIL tried to play golf yesterday.  Too much wind and cold for him, and I wasn’t enjoying it much either, so we quit on #7 and went to have a drink.  Today is sunny again and the wind is still blowing; it’s less at my house as the hill and other houses block the prevailing wind, so I think I will do some spring yard work.  

@berkeleybob  Sad. Hope your wife’s pain doesn’t last very long.  Joint pain is no fun.  I don’t think mine is ever going away, but I’m sure it’s mild compared to hers.

@russtopherb  Be Careful out there!!!
