Good morning all and happy Memorial Day! Don’t see any rain in the forecast, thankfully, as it rained all day yesterday. We have a baseball game this evening and I am hopeful the field will be fully dried out so that we can play. If it is sunny all day, I don’t see it being an issue. Hoping to get up to the range today as scramble league starts tomorrow and need the extra practice!

Good morning all on this memorial day, just remember the meaning for this day it's not so you can have the day off and have your barbecues it's to honor all those men and women who payed the ultimate price so you can have your barbecue in the greatest country in the free world. And too all who are still serving I want to say thank you and may GOD protect you from all harm.

Good morning Spies on this Memorial Day here in the US.

@GolfSpy_APH safe travels, I will also be heading out later today although driving and not flying.

Rained yesterday evening and overnight, as well as now, but supposed to stop about 12:00 noon, and I hope to hit the road no later than 1:00PM on the first leg to VA.

Good morning spies!  Have a solo tee time booked for this afternoon,  but will probably be paired up, and im fine with that.  Wife is picking up 8 foster baby kittens today so have a little prep work in the kitty room before I can get out.

Today is a remembrance of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice (personal family included) and will be attending a memorial tribute service this evening. 

And while this day commemorates those in the USA, it goes without saying that no matter where you live in the world, honoring the fallen is universal.

Good morning Spies,

I had a nice full weekend with my wife. Her birthday was Friday. We had a nice dinner on Saturday with our neighbors. We celebrated birthdays. The three couples were made up of 4 folks with birthdays during this past week. Then yesterday my wife and I went for a nice bike ride on the Erie Canal Trail. So far this year my wife has ridden over 430 miles. Yesterday was my first ride of the year. It appears I have a bit of catching up to do.

I did run 6k on Friday in honor of Memorial Day. The Merging Veterans and Players Organization has a “Got Your 6” initiative. This is the first year I was fit enough to do it.
 

Grateful to those who gave all on this Memorial Day.

Happy Memorial Day everyone!  We had some nasty storms roll through our area yesterday, producing tennis ball size hail.  Luckily for us, the hail storm was on the other side of our town.  I don't have much golf planned for this week due to other matters that require attention.

Good morning MGSpies from a wet summer warm WNY on this Monday Memorial Day, a Federal Holiday in the US to recognize our countrymen who fell serving the nation, though as Veterans we know that all such devoted warriors to their own national commitment served equally valiantly for their families and communities, the willingness to give one's life for others is not limited to the warriors but today our country pauses to remember our fallen.  I have a large patch on my tribute jacket that says "a nation that fails to remember it's protectors will itself become forgotten."

Yesterday the PGA HOPE Session remembered our brothers, the men and women who went on before us that our Pros also joined in the moment.

Pack and load day for the Maryland trip, like @rkj427 my wheels turn southward this evening for a couple days vacation before "the event" begins.  Safe travels everyone for wherever you are going, and those heading to Kingsmill, see you by Thursday.  And hope golf is a part of your day!

Good morning everyone! 

On this Memorial Day I want to thank those of you that serve our have served our country and to say thank you to those who gave their lives for it.

It was a stormy night here, I woke up to a soaked yard and thankfully nothing else. I did wake up one time to the sound of thunder. 

I've got to put the finishing touches on my packing for the Kingsmill trip and work on getting everything prepared for an early morning departure to stay with @Tom the Golf Nut Wednesday night. 

@GolfSpy_APH I hope the rest of your flight goes smoothly and you don't run into any more hassles.

Top of the pot spies .  Regular group Monday play today at Cimarron.  Tomorrow we're playing a new course (for me) at Westbrook, then a 2-man BB for men's league on Wednesday, then rounding out the week with group play Friday.  No rest for the weary .  Hope everyone has a great Memorial Day start to the week.

Also, if anyone can tell me where to find our classifieds section, that would be much appreciated.  I just poked through, seemingly, every sub forum and cannot find it.

Good morning Spies and happy Memorial Day as we remember those who gave all. Closest to me was my grandfather's brother, who lost his life in Normandy in the days following D-Day. My brother was active duty Army for 8 years and National Guard for a lot more, but never saw combat; he was a helicopter crew chief. My other grandfather was an Army glider pilot in WWII, which was a really good way to get killed. Fortunately for him and my uncle and aunt who weren't born yet, he stayed Stateside during the war as an instructor for other glider pilots, which is how he came to be stationed in your neck of the woods, @Tom the Golf Nut.

Today's honey-do from GF is changing the filter on the HVAC intake. Only problem is, it's on a rather high ceiling, and somewhere in all of my relocations (or perhaps my divorce 14 years ago), my 6-foot ladder disappeared. So ordered one online which should arrive Wednesday, maybe before I leave town. If not, I'll change the filter when I get home next weekend. Honey-do #2 is go grocery shopping. That, I can manage.

Trying to decide whether to do Rypstick or hit balls or maybe both today. Tomorrow is FFG day but I could also do the Ryp/FFG combo.

If on a computer it is much easier.  It is in the main menu bar across the top or if you do the dropdown by with forumid it will be one of the first level options listed.

Laptop.  It's early, I just poured a second cup of paint thinner... might have something to do with it... but just could not find it .  Thanks Jason and have a great trip with the gang.  I really would have liked to attend but already had scheduled two fishing trips... one that puts a dent on the kitchen pass saving jar.

Okay, I found it, thanks!  That's a rather indirect path. Is there a reason it's no longer a stand alone sub forum thread?  I used to visit it pretty frequently when it was amongst the list of main threads.

Good morning everyone and happy Memorial Day! Thank you to all of those who currently serve, have served, and who made the ultimate sacrifice. Let us all take time to remember those who have fallen. 

My wife and I are spending time with her parents this weekend and were able to get some quality time, golf, and card playing yesterday which was awesome. We went to Xgolf and then went to a course to play 9 holes. My mother-in-law is new to golf, so we are getting out as frequently as possible to get her more comfortable with the game. The good news is that we only had a few club throws, definitely under 100 swear words, and nobody got hurt! I will take that every day! We are on our way home this morning, so I am looking forward to getting this week rolling!

I recall reading that the mod team decided to go with a dedicated classified plugin to help with closing the listings after a period of time and have a better overall presentation.  I think @GolfSpy_BNG was instrumental in getting it setup and could probably provide more detail.   I am not sure I would call it indirect;  I think a link right at the top of the page is more direct than having to search the forums.   The new ads show up in my new post listing.

Good morning spies! 

In the picture below is of the brake wire on my trailer. You can see to copper colored stripes on the white wire. Those are slices in the insulation that were put there when the installer cut the gray jacket off.

That is also known as a GROUND FAULT !!!! Those slices in the insulation were strategically placed into the edge of the junction box knock-out right where the too small  protection grommet opened. This meant that every time the trailer moved the wire flexed the slit open or closed and ground faulted the brake system.  I had the RV place check out this system a month after we bought the trailer a year ago. So much for quality work, eh? It has taken a year to get this right and I did most of the trouble shooting. The truck had a switch with an intermittent failure, and now the blatant ground fault. Well the new wires are in and I have to button up the underside of the trailer, then it will be ready for the mountains later this week.

This is good as it will reach close to 105 today while I am playing with the Wild Bunch. And...I don't think I will walk today!

I’m glad to answer any questions. I’ll try to shed some light on the classifieds. 
 

We went away from a classified section and individual threads when we went to this new system. This allows for stand alone adverts for clubs as well as allows for members to control their ads and close them when completed. 
 

The biggest thing for us is what this new system allows for as we work toward bringing some new features to it that other golf forums don’t have.

I don't even know what to do with myself today. SWMBO and daughter just left for 4 days to TN. I got a reprieve from " I was thinking" and "do you know what WE need to do".

My son is at work. It's just me and the dog. I played golf Friday and yesterday and don't want to push it for another round with Kingsmill outing coming up in 3 days. I vacuumed the pool already, Lawn is too wet to cut right now, maybe later today. Too soon to pack for Kingsmill. 

This must be the first time I had nothing to do.
