Looking forward to reading all about how this went down.  Hopefully the Netflix cameras were rolling thru this entire ordeal.

Pretty interesting it is going to be a for-profit entity (the new venture is an investable vehicle,the PGA Tour is retaining 501(c)3 status though unclear how and where the money will go). I am curious how PGA Tour players that could have left for big guaranteed money will react to someone like DJ coming back after getting $150MM guaranteed for basically 1.5 years off the tour. 

I wonder if the tour really just wanted the sweet CW exposure LIV was getting? Haha. If I put on my tin foil hat, it may be the tour trying to avoid certain information coming out during the litigation that was set to kick off soon.

Just a big WOW did not see this coming at all, really seems like a huge win for LIV. Things are indeed about to get interesting.

So my assumption is that this will be a different league that is obviously separate from the PGA TOUR and their nonprofit status.

I would bet that the PGA and Liv did not want their dirty laundry aired in these lawsuits so it benefited both of them to settle this and move forward

Same. Need more info on this new "commercial" tour and how it impacts the non-profit PGA Tour, and exactly where PIF money is going.

I am leaning toward the take that this was pushed through because of the court case where the judge denied the PGA tours motion to deny discovery and they were worried about having to open up their books and lose their 501c3 status like every other league.

I feel like I remember seeing a similar announcement on April 1. At that time it was such a farce that no one would ever believe it.

Ummm, I was shocked this morning. My initial thoughts, after all this talk about where the money was coming from by the PGA Tour, Golf Channel, and every media outlet... the PGA Tour and Monahan took the money after all. A bunch of hypocrites in my opinion, sellouts.

This is the way things should be done, top players in the world playing against each other, make them earn the huge money price they have on the table! Love it. If players took a side in this "dispute" well, its up to them, you never know what curve ball life will throw at you, it'll be interesting, except for watching the spoiled kid named patrick reed..

Not a ton of detail yet, pretty crazy after all the disruption. Wonder what the 2024 schedule looks like.

IF I were on the tour and from what it looks like they were completely in the dark, I would be EXTREMELY PISSED with the league right now after backing them throughout this whole thing.

But I am not on tour sooooooo here we are.
