Does my job here on the forum count?

Of course it counts! As does anyone who works in the golf industry. Added to the list!

Virginia was the 1st state in the US to GROW peanuts.

ALABAMA is 1st in growth, harvest, and production,  followed by Georgia.

When I lived in Marianna Florida I worked at a farm in Cottondale that grew peanuts and had livestock. Dothan is just a rocks throw from the highway 👍

I can find articles that say Suffolk is the peanut capital.   And Mr. peanut lives in Suffolk.

I live 30- 45 minutes from Marianna, depending on the route taken. I'm wanting to eventually play , Bonifay,  Defuniak, and a couple others that way.

Many years ago on a trip hosted by a long past forum, while driving to Hammock Beach (near Jacksonville), our lone Southerner (Tennessee) made us make an unscheduled stop when he saw a roadside stand for boiled peanuts. That was a new experience for this Northern boy, and they were awesome!

We ha e several top ranked, award winning, peanut boilers here.  The absolute best is a guy who has been doing them for over 50 years! He has Cajun, salted, normal, and spicy.  He hasn't raised his prices in 15 years !

I’m aspiring to! After nearly 20 years in the corporate market research field, I developed and launched PutterCup to pursue the next chapter of my working life in something I love — golf!  Looking forward to meeting others in golf and making my vocation my vacation as Twain said.

I don't like to post it often because I don't want to be that guy, but most know that I'm a WedgeFit Specialist at Edison Golf. I absolutely love it! I get to talk with a ton of golfers, improve their short game, and hear a lot of cool stories.

That's cool! I only earned of them after joining here.

Social media golf?

I've caught a few posts where members here mentioned they work in some capacity in the golf industry.  Just thought it would be a cool topic to share stories, insights, cool or unusual photos.

Not yet and most likely won't have a chance to actually work in the industry but you never know. I have had opportunities come up for volunteering during LPGA and Amateur Tournaments here in the Los Angeles area. I just wish I had been given notice more than 3-4 days in advance.

I did as a club professional, Class A PGA.  Loved it for awhile but needed weekends and holidays to watch my boys play sports.  Also did not get a chance to play golf.  Got my amateur status back and playing or practicing daily.  Would not change a thing!

In a roundabout way, I guess I sort of work in the golfing world. I am the PM and Sports Director for Adaptive Sports for the US Army. I oversee Recreation Therapists and Adaptive Sports Specialists in 14 Soldier Recovery Units. Besides daily recovery programs, we have team representation for Army in Warrior Games and Invictus. We cover a wide range of sports and I have taken golf for myself. I recently became certified as an Associate Golf teacher through USGTF. I also am the POC for an annual Active Duty golf tournament among the Army and other services Wounded Warrior programs held in Nov. this year is our 4th.

i don’t consider myself as a top year coach and give all respect to those who go through the PGA tour. My mission is to show and adapt golf to men and woman who have or our wounded, ill or injured. To show them the fun in golf and how it can also help them recover. I get to tell them about programs and organizations that exist for golf as well. Like those that are in this group!

Thank you for your service! And thank you for providing our soldiers with a meaningful road towards recovery!

I own Swing Space Golf in Columbus, OH. I get to play when I want and give lessons/clinics when I’m not doing my day job. It’s a lot of work but I love every minute!

I worked in the golf business for 20 years around Ontario, Canada. I was involved in club management for most of the time but in the early 2000’s I got involved in as a project manager on a new course build.  I worked with architects, construction, landscape, irrigation etc etc…..Definitely the most satisfying job of my golf career. I managed the course after it was completed but a change in ownership meant that my time was up.
I just recently retired and started working part time at a local course cutting grass.  It’s in my blood!
