A new sump pump, the current one is about 7 years old and is starting to either stick open or closed, it's a crapshoot which but I don't want another flooded basement.

Must be that time of year... I had the same thing happening with the pump in the crawlspace under the workshop and I just replaced the switch assembly on it.  So far so good.

Agree 100%, better to be safe than sorry.

Had it happen one time when we first bought and moved into this house, now part of the regular maintenance routine I have for all things house related.

Did get a Tour Velvet Midsize grip thrown on, and temps look much more favorable Friday afternoon for a range session. Did some dry swings in the garage and it feels more active in the transition than my Tensei AV Raw White and felt really smooth. Obviously need to hit some balls to really get the feel, but the dry swings were money.

I'm 34 and have a 7 wood in the bag. I love that thing 😂

I played a Callaway Warbird Heavenwood the last two years I played college golf. Easiest damn club I ever hit.

Didn't so much but as was given for my birthday, but I've wanted one of these for ages to help work on my putting. Missus got me an 8ft putting matt with a nicely varnished ball returner 😁😁 absolutely love it, it's got the standard cup size and a much smaller one. I like to start at 1ft then each time I sink it move a foot back, and if I miss, go 1ft forwards.

PXL_20231101_152255956.jpg

Do the same thing... 1 ft then back a foot after each make. Always try and sink three straight  6 ft on the small cup to finish my session.

It looks like I am going back a few years with my bag.

I had G430LST driver-G425LST 3w- G425 3-5H and i525 6-U in the bag. A few weeks ago I was playing in a 2-Day 3-Man Scramble so I put SLDR430 Driver and M5 3wood and GAPR Mid 18° 3 iron in the bag for that week thinking that those clubs were longer but less forgiving. Since I had 2 back up guys it didn’t matter about forgiveness. I absolutely striped those clubs.

So, I’m thinking hard about selling all my Ping stuff and getting P790’s. As far as drivers go, I prefer the narrower, deeper face drivers.

Epic Disaster. No doubt I hit these better that day, but in terms of forgiveness, it’s not even close.

Finally admitted my age and I now have a 7 wood in the bag.  In true fashion for me is it a bit of a Frankenstein with the loft turned down 1* and shafted at 5 wood length to fit the gap I needed.  In the bag for a few rounds so far and it is doing what I need it to do.

Good, come over to the dark side, we have cookies.

Been a bit since I've posted here and definitely missed reporting a handful of purchases... But here's the latest:

Picked up the Caddytalk Cube, used 2 rounds so far. Super cool. The triangulation is surprisingly useful and accurate (checked it against my buddy's Bushnell a few times, and it was accurate within a yard, even accounting for slope). On regular readings, had some duds though - like a 100+ yd shot reading at 8yd (not the "you just missed the flag" issues, actual misreads, and by a lot), but they were noticeable, and a couple reads later were much better. Overall happy with the early performance.

PXL_20231104_034540742.jpg.3101760dc645df51f9dbf505ca6be5e2.jpg

Then, added a couple more Putt Buddies divot tool/ball mark combos to the collection, this time going with Dr Evil / Mini Me and Phil / Darth Vader. They're a bit bulky, but cool designs (also have a Chubbs and a Spackler).

PXL_20231104_034824867.jpg.b10e633d6d1e221e28db941f4a47dc61.jpg

And, last thing for now... Reef Spackler golf flippy floppies (with soft spikes and all) -- who knows when I'll ever use them, especially considering they clearly lack support, but they look way cooler than the old FJ sandals that I used to have (maybe they'll be the new par 3 go-to shoes).

PXL_20231104_034942600.jpg.853b0ec24d46ade40c912f32b306741e.jpg

What's next for this club ho? I'm eyeing up a legit LAB putter fitting this winter - seems like that would make a huge difference for me. And then what's tempting but completely unrealistic for the current situation? A Finn Golf Scooter - after riding one a couple weeks ago, I never want to go back to a traditional cart. But for it to make sense, would need to join our neighborhood course, and that's not currently in the cards.

My dad used one of these when my brother and I were in high school -- we hit it on occasion and stole it for some tournaments, because it was so easy to hit. I still have one of the Warbird 7 woods in the basement stockpile, but from looking at it a while ago, looks like the gen before the official Heavenwood, even though it has the Heavenwood cover (I'm questioning whether he had multiples and just kept the prior gen...).

I don't think its in your head. I believe a perfectly fitted balanced putter works better than off the rack. I have used many good putters off the rack, Scotties etc. Since I got my DF 2.1,  its the only putter that has reduced my putting strokes per round. Yes, I have kept track of all my putts for years, and can track them.  Good luck with the new putter looks sharp!

A lot firmer off the face, which I've found is my preference. Greens in Hawaii tend to be pretty slow unless you're playing Kapalua maybe? Never played there so I can't comment, but I assume greenskeepers keep the greens a little longer/more plush due to:

1. The sun is brutal year round. Feels like it would be easier to maintain/prevent from being burned if it were longer?

2. it's often windy. You guys who watch the ToC or Sony Open know that the pros are always trying to hit it lower when they come here because the trade winds are typically in the 15-20 mph range, sometimes higher. Can't imagine if the winds were up and greens were rolling quick, balls might never stop?

With that said, I struggle hitting putts hard enough and I think a firmer face helps me control distance a little better? My DF also has the stability shaft in it and the Link feels a lot more "solid" overall, and heavier. Not sure how much the Accra shaft has an influence on both of those.

Hope that helps? I know everything feel wise is very subjective, but I'm willing to be that you would agree that at the very least, it feels firmer off the face than the DF.

It was the last piece to completely upgrade my entire bag in 23.  I will be replacing my wedges next even though I've only had the Wilson Harmonized set a couple months... Not happy with the lack of spin I get with them.
